It's a good thing no one is proposing they "drop everything and shoehorn them in" then, isn't it?

They'd be better off unused than used poorly.

Seriously. And as if they COULDN'T fit the FF in there.

:funny:

EDIT: You know when the perfect time would be for Marvel Studios to introduce the FF? After the Avengers/GotG team up. The big news is that the Avengers went to space, battled Thanos and met friendly-ish alien races. Well, the US Government wants a piece of that deep space pie, so Stark and Banner and, introducing for the first time, Reed Richards, team up to build a spaceship capable of that exploration. They form the team, based on Reed's recommendations, go into space, have the accident, crash land back on Earth and boom. The Fantastic Four are born.

In fact, it WOULD be perfect. What better way would there be to kick off Phase 4 than WITH the Fantastic Four?

Did you even click the link? A top executive at Marvel is actually rooting for the film to succeed.

Mostly since Marvel knows that they aren't going to make a Fantastic Four film in the near future and Fox is giving them brand exposure.

Brand exposure is good since Fox is likely to sell back their cut of merch revenue for either live-action TV rights or X-Men/FF crossover rights. People in the general audience who like the movie are likely to buy the comics. The comics don't promote the films, it's the other way around.

Do you really think that a Marvel executive would publicly trash this film (or any other Non-Marvel Studios project), and say that Fox is doing a bad job? OR, that (if they were to get the rights back) Marvel wouldn't immediately treat them as a top priority?

No one can be that naive.....

Some people can be that naive.

Top executive. Please. He's Senior VP of publishing on the comic side, which means jack to the film side. Do you seriously think this dude would publicly badmouth this movie even if he thought it was a turd? lmao

Some people can be that naive.

Or that desperate to win an argument.

A marvel editor with little to no involvement in the film world saying semi-positive things about the movie on a relatively obscure web page isn't exactly a glowing show of solidarity.
If we're going to give that credence, why don't we talk about the Cracked podcast I mentioned yesterday where one of the industry insiders straight up called this film out as a complete mess? That guy actually has respectable credentials when it comes to the film making industry (he's already read the Avengers 2 and Star Wars 6 script) and he has no dog in the fight. We're just going to sweep that one under the rug?

So super important to some folks.

Yyyyyyep.

All this talk about wether the film is gonna be a success or a mess is just completely ludicrous at this point. They're has been so much hate for this movie that it's not even worth reading/talking about anymore. I understand this is a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinions, but it seems some people take advantage of those rights and bash this film constantly, talking about the same stuff over and over again to the point where you don't make it fun for people like me who actually want this movie to be good and I haven't said one bad thing about this movie because i simply love all comic book movies, wether they are horrible or amazing. The fact that we are getting all these CBM is a blessing in general. Can people start talking about this film in a positive way even if you want to bash it, they're should be a negative thread for this kind of talk. The positive thread seemed to died down. But thats just my 2 cents. side note, no disrespect to any of the users on here.

All the negative talk actually helped this film. That made the Fantastic Four the underdog and everybody loves an underdog lmao.

No one is being prevented from discussing whatever they please. At least the anti-movie people are discussing the actual production instead of constantly going off topic to complain about other posters.

i don't care if you negative or positive about the film. If I got something to say, I say it, all that negative talk don't bother me at all. Most of it was so ridiculous anyway, people talking like they were sitting in their basement in tin foil hats.

Things like the Trank rumors all came out of someones ass. Things like that got spreaded here and everyone went crazy about it, thats what I'm trying to say.

It didn't make it the underdog, so much as it lowered expectations significantly. So when the trailer hit, and it didn't look bad (keyword: look), people took it as a sign the rumors were false.

Considering those rumors (about Trank's behavior, the perpetual script rewrites, and the entire production being a mess) have been regurgitated by several sources (ranging from random people on a Louisiana college forum, to some of the most reliable and connected scoopers in the business), I'd say those reports have far more than enough traction to be considered more than a simple rumored pulled from some guy's ***.

Don't worry. This, too, will be ignored.

Agreed.

Found the podcast.

1. He could have been talking about Jurassic World.

2. Going through reshoots is hardly the worst thing that could happen. Iron Man was said to be a trainwreck that was fixed in the editing room, so was Apocalypse Now, so was World Wr Z. There are plenty of films that were fixed during reshoots that you don't know were fixed because the studio locked everyone into an NDA. Would you prefer if Fox decided to release it as is?

1. You can't believe, in good conscience and knowing what we'e heard about this film, that he was talking about Jurassic World, a production where the director has been forthcoming and has shared info since Day 1.

2. You did not just compare this to Apocalypse Now. I mean..... my god. Just no. No.

Iron Man wasn't a trainwreck. It didn't have a complete script, prompting improv during filming. But in the editing room, there were no issues.

I can't agree with you here. ten years ago, you would have been right. but things have changed so much that we as an audience can expect quality standards from our CBMs

so...segregation is cool again?

Good thing that we've been getting quality CBMs then, from all studios.

Well SONY have been dropping the ball a bit, but ASM1 was good
