Fant4stic: Reborn! - - - - Part 23

I think it's the "But we are stronger together than we are apart."

The context sounds like something said by the Fantastic Four, but it does sound more likely to be Dr. Doom that would say it.

I think that line is Doom as to me it has an accent whereas the first line sounds like Franklin Storm.

That line doesn't strike me as particularly Doom-ish, but then again neither does anything else about this version of the character. And with that accent it has to be Doom.

I wouldn't be surprised if they play Reed and Victor as more good rivals and afterwards Doom thinks Reed should just follow him. Us against them to claim the Negative Zone.

Or that could be somebody else dropping those lines in the original trailer. The person saying, "The Answers" is presumably somebody else. That's the magic of audio editing for trailers. It doesn't have to synch up with the final product.

I dunno, the close up shot of Reed asking "What's coming?" looks like it's direct from the same scene (the same lighting and panelling behind him as in the shot where he is approaching whoever is on the bed).

So it's either not Doom on the bed, or it is and his voice is different for whatever reason, or there is someone else in the room Reed has the convo with, or he has the convo with someone else earlier and repeats the 'What's coming?" question later to the prone Doom...Or something....

Figure it's gotta be one of those, lol :cwink:

Does anyone else think that the voice over is Dr. Storm?

I did at first. But listening to it again there is a difference: The 2nd bit ("But we are etc") is not as smooth (a bit more gravelly) and there's more abrupt pronunciation of the words, particularly the "apart" bit. Catheys voice lingers on each word more I think.

Assuming it isn't him it does seem a bit odd they would have another character use a voice that is similar enough to Cathey's that it was easy to not notice the difference right away.

And I'm not picking up any really discernible accent as some seem to be.

That'd be cool. One corrupted by power and the other not

Those suits are dreadful. And everything Trank says about this movie makes hate it more.

Yeesh.

"There's the opportunity to make something that is challenging and tragic and dramatic," adds Trank. "The opportunity is right there in the material. We'd rather steer it in that direction as opposed to just embracing a tone that comes right off the page."

Right... Because it never worked so well in the first place. Oh wait GOTG happened. Totally embraced the tone and feel of the comics and it was successful. Trank is starting to sound like Snyder. Some of the things he's saying are baffling to say the least. This whole lets make the movie realistic and dark so that people can empathize with the characters thing is now getting old, especially when you're going off base to who these characters really are. You can develop great characters without having to go the route Trank is taking the FF. SM2 and IM are an example of this. This is why GOTG was a breath of fresh air. They will not be getting my money. To actually think I was getting pumped because the teaser look somewhat good makes me disappointed in myself. Bleh.

Also lol at Reed's and Johnny's costumes.:lmao:

Neatly dressed and looking somewhat dapper in a suit and tie?

What? When you read Fantastic Four, you didn't read it because it was: "tragic and dramatic"

Does anyone smile in this film ever?

Wow, this really emphasizes just how freaking stupid that costume looks. If they are going to make drastic changes from the comics the least they could do is make their "lo-fi, gritty" containment suits look halfway decent. That looks like a garbage bag.
Maybe he's fighting Doom because he sees Doom wearing his other favorite trash bag?

FFINO truly is the Fantastic Four film for people who are embarrassed by the Fantastic Four.

Easily the absolute worst costumes ever. Can anything even come close? Maybe the Captain America with the rubber ears.

Holy cow I've never seen that. I used to think that costume was alright given the time period but my gosh.

He has springs on his costume. Because realism.:awesome:

This is like the FF's answer to the X-Men's black outfits. Because, y'know... blue spandex :whatever:

I dislike Snyder too. But this is just disingenuous. Snyder's Watchmen and 300 are ridiculously like the comics. And even if he made a sombre Superman film, he still nailed the aesthetics of Super-man.

Yeah say what you want about Snyder, I also did not enjoy MoS, but he clearly loves the source material. I wish we had a Snyder behind the camera other than Trank.
