I really like it.

Everything I've seen and read since January about this movie has made me want to watch it more and more.

Same here, I have retained faith in the because of Trank and Fox's blockbuster record lately, last few years they have made some great movies. But the trailer and everything since has made me really look forward to this, I think it is going to surprise people.

I think I watch a diverse amount of movies.

Woah, that's some serious dedication to movies. I'm kinda ashamed to say I'm not sure I've seen that many in my whole life... Or at least not many more.

thing looks alright.. could be worse. But still looks like "clayface" to me.. or rock armor.. rather than "the ever lov'n blue eyed thing"...

But thankfully... Vision and Daredevil are doing a great job of stealing his spotlight. Well played Marvel!

Nothing about this new flick has interested me, even as a hardcore Marvel guy, but I have to say the new Ben Grimm image looks pretty darn good.

I just can't help but compare and contrast the reactions to Vision's official poster being released and this terrible first official picture of the Thing being released. On the one had you have a look with Vision that while it has original bits to it, reflects and pays homage to the comic book where this Thing looks so scared of the comic book counter part that they create something that if I saw the picture I'd think it was clayface from Batman, or anything but the Thing.

It's amazing how good the Thing rubber suit from the story films looks or the one from the Corman film looks, compared to this. Total waste of money on CGI.

Yeah, maybe this is the one bright spot. I normally have trouble watching the old movies because the Thing looks so bad, but maybe I can pull them out now and say: "Oh, well, at least he looks better than the Trank version."

Daredevil is getting tons of negative comments too. You can't please everyone, goes apparently for FF as well for Daredevil.

Btw what is going on with today, so many news and reveals. DD costume, Thing reveal, Vision poster, Archangel reveal, Orange is the New Black trailer, Sinister 2 trailer... Is there a con going on somewhere or what?

Corman's version seems to look the best to me. Who'd have thought?

Daredevil is getting negative comments? I haven't been looking in that section because I'm trying to avoid spoilers but that's tough to hear. I'm going check that out in a second.

This movies Thing looks like the video game version from the rotss game, design wise. The quality of the cg is acceptable in the still.

I still prefer Chiklis' The Thing costume. It's not perfect, but it still feels like a more honest adaptation. This new The Thing just looks like an over-baked mud monster with passive/sunken features. He doesn't stand out.

Corman - decent design of face but mediocre design of body. Limited by budget and constraints of using an actor in a suit.

Story - mediocre design of face but decent design of body. Limited by constraints of using an actor in a suit.

Trank - no longer constrained by an actor in a suit, but overall bad design.

He kinda looks like he might be a bit asymmetrical.

There is so much 'Wrong' here, it hurts to read. He looks nothing, NOTHING, like Clayface. Not even a little. Know what he looks like? A giant man made out of craggy orange rocks. Or, to put it simply, Thing. It's a darker shade of orange and looks better than the Story outfit which I thought never looked good.
Both Visions' and Things' looks pay homage to their comic-book counterpart. We could wait till we hear some dialogue from the characters or see footage of them before we actually pass judgment on them, like rational people who don't get ********* over silly things. Or not. Whichever.

he looks like a man made of rocks.. but he hardly looks like "Thing" looks more like something a hero would face in a sword and sorcery film than "The Ever Lovin blue-eye'd Thing"

looks more like Rockslide from the X-men

the reason people say "clayface" is the color... he is more of a natural tone of clay... not orange rock. which unfortunately... is sorta like leaving the red or the blue out of spider-man... or the red or gold out of Iron-Man... his color is quite terrible.. and he's too jagged for my liking. Just very reminiscent of some sort of Rock Golem you'd see in like LOTR or something

This concept drives me crazy. "He looks like a rock-man therefore he looks like the Thing."

The Thing has very specific and unique design features that have been consistent throughout 50+ years including UFF, and this design scraps those features.

Looks more like Superman than that random collection of rocks looks like the Thing.

Seriously, someone could make a Halloween costume that looks like the above "Thing" and Marvel couldn't sue them because it wouldn't be close enough to the Thing's design. Call him "Rock Man" and Marvel's got no case.

I wonder why no design can ever get his brow right.. he always looks bizarre without it

Both Visions' and Things' looks pay homage to their comic-book counterpart. We could wait till we hear some dialogue from the characters or see footage of them before we actually pass judgment on them, like rational people who don't get ********* over silly things. Or not. Whichever.

There's always some excuse for some who don't like other opinions. When we saw the poster with the F4 on it was that it wasn't a clear enough look (looked pretty clear to most). Here it's we haven't seen it in motion and we haven't heard him speak (regardless that people are talking about image and not portrayal). I suggest if you're really that insecure about other peoples opinions you bulk up your ignore list rather than post passive/aggressive bait comments to those who don't share your opinion.
