He really should have walked when Fox wanted to replace him. He was only kept on because no one else would join this train wreck but he knew it was a wreck which is why he probably ended up high and lacking motivation.

Yeah, I feel like they cut his legs out from under him and the relationship was probably a mess from then on. I may not like some of the choices Tank made, but I see him as something of a victim and Fox and their crap machine the real bad guys.

Some are reporting he was told to stay away from Celebration, which is even worse imo.

Not a surprise. It really sucks as it seems Kinberg, Kennedy, and others really put their faith in him and he let them down.

because as i said I liked his tweet and agreed with it. Got it from Jeff Sneider's twitter, he retweeted it.

I dont even know who Jeff Sneider is I just looked at his feed after I saw people on here mentioning him
Ok, I get you. Just some advice though, understand who is posting these things. Drew has a rep, and it isn't a good one. Dude will defend his favorites to the death, while posting plenty of BS on those he dislikes.

I am happy it seems that Kinberg saw the light of day. I like him a lot, but Trank working on SW seemed to be his idea. And thus he was holding on until it was almost too late. Thankfully that has passed.

I mean I can still agree or disagree without knowing him.

He may be a hypocrite but i think he still has a point. Even if it's kinda like the pot calling the kettle black

Jeff Sneider says the trades started asking Disney and others about it back in December. Must have been brewing at the same time those posts about Trank were made on that Baton Rouge forum.

And I guess Trank physically threatened Sneider. https://***********/TheInSneider/status/594298199755476992https://***********/TheInSneider/status/594290215562256384

I agree, him being told to stay away is worse then him just not showing up.
It must have been late in the game as well. They never stopped advertising him. Zod, what a disaster on a professional level.

Trank's off Star Wars and he allegedly lied about having the flu during the Star Wars event.

Well than.

UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter is hearing rumors that FF went poorly and Kinberg doesn't want to work with Trank again.

So.... Marvel's Fantastic Four for 2021/2022 then?

You can agree or disagree with him. But it is hollow coming from him and thus he has no point. Especially when he was one of the ones talking about this from the start.

How so? If anything, Trank is the one to blame for the film being so different from the source. It is entirely possible that the original pitch for the film was less like F4, and Fox didn't like that, and wanted to make the necessary changes, which Trank probably didn't like.

From my perspective, it seems more like Trank is acting like a petulant child.

Wow. If Kinberg really did want nothing to do with him anymore, there has to be a lot of truth here. It almost seems like they were waiting until after Celebration to dump him, to avoid having to talk about it.

As soon as Trank stood up Kathleen Kennedy at Celebration, and knew all these rumors had to have some truth to them. They were still advertising him minutes before the show started. It is sad, as Trank probably needs help. But this also shows why so many in the know were and still are weary about this project.

If they were advertising his appearance minutes before he did it either means a) the people making the announcements weren't told what Disney told Trank or b) He wasn't actually told not to come but blew them off.

The latter is very bad, but it bears only on Star Wars and doesn't necessarily mean the Fantastic Four rumors are true. The former is plausible (although sucky), although might need more evidence. Otherwise, we're still stuck in rumor land.

If he has a serious substance abuse problem, I do hope he gets the help he needs.

Gareth Edwards and him were both announced late in the game as well. The whole situation is weird.

Fox should have never green lit the project. They saw the script. They saw the production design. They knew things weren't looking good, but they pushed ahead anyway. Trank works for Fox. They're in charge and they put this project in the hands of someone who couldn't handle it.

Fox bears more blame for giving an incompetent director this much responsibility than Trank bears for simply being incompetent IMO.

Well they didn't announce JJ until a few weeks out. It seems they weren't sure what they were going to show from TFA, much less the Anthology films.

There are a lot of things that could have happened, but none of them are good for Trank. Unless he was deathly sick, he should have been there. So he either blew them off or things were going to so bad they didn't want him there.

I am thinking Disney already decided they didn't want him involved anymore, and were basically waiting for Celebration to pass to announce it under the radar.

I do not have much confidence in the new FF movie, but I think it is very irresponsible for Hollywood Reporter to report unsubstantiated rumors. May or may not be true, but this is really crappy journalism.

You say they are unsubstantiated rumors. That Hollywood Reporter is reporting the says they clearly aren't unsubstantiated. They have legit sources telling them this is what happened.

Yeah, Trank's behavior is pretty much the worst kept secret in Hollywood. It took this long for the dam to break.

If I remember correctly, even the emails from the Sony Hack said Trank was unstable.

They were basically waiting for him to be fired from Star Wars imo. Then they could start saying what they have been waiting to say.
