I'm gonna be honest, I was on board since the beginning and through all the plot point leaks(like the doom blogger thing), the design reveals and everything. I was gonna see this regardless. This trailer looks great in my opinion. Besides, Marvels not getting the rights back for the next decade or two at least. So might as well try to enjoy what they're putting out.

(Again, all my opinion)

I've never understood this argument. Let me apply this same line of reasoning to another situation and you'll see why it doesn't work.

"Come on guys, I know all this restaurant serves is human feces on a bun, but since that's all they serve we may as well enjoy it.

Sure if people keep buying the Poopwhich they'll have no incentive to add actual food to the menu or go out of business and allow another restaurant that makes delicious hamburgers to take its place, but since right now all we can get is the Poopwhich, let's all try to like the Poopwhich."

Fox is serving us cinematic feces and we need to vote with our wallets and let it fail so they can't continue it.

Thing is the general audience won't see it as the equivalent of "human feces" just because it is not entirely comic accurate.

For me the lack of comic book accuracy isn't so much turning me off but how bad it looks on it's own merits. The costumes, F/X, cinematography and lighting, the general presentation all look like ****.

Again, the rest of what you mentioned are subjective. so....

The more I see of the movie and the closer we get to release, the more my anticipation grows and the more and more confident I become in it being both a critical and financial success.

Just saw the Creed trailer, was MBJ that big when he shot FF?

i think it will be a critical success but what makes you think it will be financial success? there's a lot of factors going against this film right now...

The petty sniping at each other can end now......or I will end it for some of you for a long time.

I remain convinced that the story and the actors involved in the film will pique general audience interest and result in financial sucess for the film, especially if it receives a favorable response from critics like I believe it will.

That's quite a claim. On what basis?

The synopsis, the story, the footage we've seen, and the fact that most of the general public don't give two craps about most of the things that some of the fans see as negatives about it.

LOL!!!!

Yeah, we've actually got options now (MCU and DCCU) so wasting money at with Fox isn't necessary.

Or possibly the general public simply doesn't give a crap about this film in general.

Two way traffic goes both ways. Correct?

I seriously doubt that a majority of the people who see the film will come out of it feeling like they wasted their money.

I also seriously doubt that it's going to be visited with the grneral audience ambivalence you think it will.

i think critical success leading to somewhat decent financial numbers is the only way for this film. word of mouth goes a long way these days...

Negative opinion on this movie from fans is never going to be powerful enough to derail its financial success, especially if it receives critical acclaim in addition to favorable initial response from general audiences.

I think the general audience will find the similarities with the first film tiresome, the cliche' of the military using them as weapons trite, pantsless, d•••less thong will be a laughable distraction, heroes saving the world from a threat they created won't be inspiring, and the bad CGI will seem out of place in a film from 2015.

But those are just some of the things we know and I don't know if the general feel and pace of the movie will be enough to make up for those shortcomings.

^ I don't believe that general audiences will share your viewpoint on what is or isn't a "shortcoming" on this movie.

We know where your mind is! :sly:

Much as I can tell, most of the general audience doesn't give two craps about the movie in general.

No one's really talking about it.

Now this is fascinating.

So you think the general audience WON'T be ambivalent toward this movie because...you think they'll share YOUR opinion on how this might turn out?

Because you think they'll share YOUR viewpoint on the positives of this movie?

But on the flipside you think they WON'T share his negative viewpoint on this movie because...that's not YOUR viewpoint on this movie?

That's what I'm getting from these posts.

I don't know where you think general audiences WOULD be talking about the film, since most of those who wpuld be considered to comprise the general audience don't don't engage in the same type of behavior that fans do (talking about it onljne or on social media).

Looks to be the same turd with sprinkles on top. They haven't shown anything remotely appealing in the last trailer that I already saw in the first one they ever showed. Just trying to make it more upbeat.

They are doing nothing we haven't seen before and I have seen it done much better in far better looking films. Its 2015 and there have been numerous superhero films done to this point. You better come big and original or not come at all. I expect a modest OW and then a major plunge the next week.
