But it's not.

Ultimate Doom is/does not:

Named Domashev

A blogger

Wear a Thor 2 Dark Elf mask

Look like melted trash bags

Have human legs

Have blue electric currents in him

Act like Franklin Storm is his father

There is nothing Blogter Domashev has in common with any Doomm

Also, I believe UFF's Van Damme has a father who is alive and he's wealthy (not a gypsy). So Kebbel is describing a back-story for Doom that is closer to 616.

It seems clear to me that after the first 15 minutes or so, this won't resemble UFF or 616. After that point, it looks like it will be closer to Tim Story's FF film than anything that has ever been in any comic books.

According to Kebbell, every aspect of Victor's background is faithful to the comic--his gypsy heritage, his mother dying, his father dying of exposure, etc........

and the movie shows us NONE OF THAT!

And every aspect of his origin as a villain---when and how he meets Reed/Ben, his occupation, his relationship with the Storm's, his journey from human to super-villain, his costume, his "powers".........

is UN-faithful and they show us ALL OF THAT!

What did Kebell say exactly? I haven't seen it

Since this movie is inspired by ULTIMATE F4 then when he says the "character background is accurate" he is referring to the version of the character ITS BASED ON! And not a version it isn't.

His background (from what we've seen) is accurate to the comic, you're comparing it to a different version, your mistake

Ultimate Doom said:
Victor is introduced as part of the Baxter Building, a government think-tank of young geniuses, which counts among its students Reed Richards and Susan Storm. He works to help Reed Richards develop a teleporter to the "N-Zone," but reprograms its coordinates without telling anyone. This causes the accident that gave the Ultimate Fantastic Four their powers, though Victor maintains that the original Richards programming was so bad that even he couldn't fix it, and that it was this that led to the accident

^ Pretty much the same as Kebells Doom

Willie just explained why the things that Kebbell is describing are NOT accurate to Ultimate. Amazing how all of these Ultimate Fantastic Four fans coming out of the woodwork don't seem to actually know that Ultimate was very different from what we've seen...

Trank wasn't part of the group photo right?

A sign? Maybe Kinberg told him to stay behind?

I wonder if the rumors are true that Singer will take over for the sequel?

People may have been disappointed in the FF panel, and the lack of hype, and the lukewarm reception and response from the audience, and I absolutely understand that being a letdown, but in no way was the cast itself coming across as "bored" or "ambivalent", and neither were Kinberg and Trank. They were enjoying themselves. That panel had some of the more intelligent discussion at Comic Con from its cast about the characters they were playing. They very much do care about the material they're attached to, and it showed. If anything gives me hope for this movie, its that.

But I guess if they're not cracking silly jokes that have nothing to do with the film then they don't care.

I've noticed people tend to enjoy the panels where the cast are more joking around and aloof

Rose Byrne doesn't look to be there. Must be another sign. Perhaps someone else is playing moira in the next one

Same here Marvelrobbins, thanks for the heads up the trailer is here tomorrow. Probably a good time to also take a break from the FF board until celebration day coems and we can look at that sweet 80-90% Rotten Tomato meter.

See ya'll in the FF threads on Aug 7th!

Will you be celebrating being free to post on forums of franchises you actually care about?

Wow. You really believe that? If that happens I will be utterly shocked.

But personally I don't care if it scores a 100% with every critic on the planet. This isn't the Fantastic Four.

I disagree. I feel like it'll resemble a bunch of people in a lab for the first 45 minutes, then go on to the Negative Zone for another half hour where it feels like a cool sci-fi film for anyone who didn't walk out, then it feels like UFF for the last 15 minutes. Way too much buildup for too little payoff. That isn't what I want out of a tentpole film. Josh Trank clearly wasn't cut out for Hollywood but if Chronicle proved anything, it's that he's good with low budget indie films.

And that'll be three strikes for Fox and they know it. That's probably why they're rumored to be bringing Bryan Singer in since he can at least make a decent superhero film that resembles the source material.

If this film is underwhelming, which looks to be certain, why would FOX go for a 4th try?

I say they work out some agreement. This property is worthless now thanks to FOX. Get something for it and be done with it.

I will be shocked if the trailer contains anything that doesn't look, sound, or feel like a re-packaged version of what we have already seen. I've been fair in judging this film on it's own merits, I've complimented it when it has impressed me, so it'll be interesting to see whether or not Fox can mildly impress me one more time before it hits theaters.
