If the talk of Fox canning a 3D version at the wishes of Trank are true, then that is pretty great news because it means Fox still cares what the director thinks. Weve all heard the rumors about Bryan Singer potentially directing Fantastic Four 2 in order to set-up a Fantastic Four/X-Men crossover, which seems to rub against the other rumors about a X-Men/Avengers cross-over arriving in 2020, but thats a conversation for another day, one that changes if the movie works on an artistic/entertainment level and/or the movie makes over $400 million worldwide. The film allegedly cost $122m to produce, which is actually less than Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer ($130m) back in 2007 and not much more than Fantastic Four ($100m) in 2005, which means that the film doesnt need to break the bank to make a profit.
