Except, people want comic book Doom, Campea. I know he's alluding to people complaining about multiple reboots, but that's only if people are getting the same thing. We have yet to get an accurate and faithful Doom, so that is not an apt comparison.

I think this past year has given us a good example of how to and how not to act in this situation. Josh Trank and Peyton Reed both have faced massive amounts of criticism and insults from fans. One has dealt with it with grace and maturity, and seems to have won over at least a large amount of his detractors. One has acted like a spoiled child and made things many times worse for himself.

Let that be a lesson to future directors.

Yet Fox still attaches the "Marvel" banner at the beginning of the film because they are more than willing to borrow Marvel's reputation when it suits their needs.

Based on the new trailer I think some of our earlier speculation (that Sue might not go to the N-zone on the first mission but be caught in the accident from Earth-side) is probably correct. I think this is her here:

This encouraged me to look at Peyton Reed's twitter, he is entertaining.
All the experience helped shape him up to be a better gentleman, hope Josh Trank learns something good from him.

When the hell have we been given an accurate Doom before? Nobody, literally no one, would complain if we got a comic accurate Doom in this movie.

Not even the people who inexplicably like THIS Domashev.

My guess is that Sue is left behind because she's needed on the Earth-side for the mission (she seems to be at computer screens a lot in other trailers -- maybe she and Domashev are coordinating from both dimensions?). I could also see Dr Storm being hesitant to allow both his children to go to the n-zone at the same time in case something happened. (Don't really get the reason for allowing Johnny though).

They wouldn't be promoting another companies project (movie). They'd be continuing with their own company's products (comics) that have been going for decades until now..

They didnt cancel the comics, merch and remove any reference to Fantastic Four when the previous movies came and went. And those comics and Merch obviously didn't do much promotion of those movies since they didn't do that good at the box office.

This is Marvel/Disney interfering with the Comics for the worse, out of spite. That is shameful and pointless tactics imo and I'm surprised the true fans of Fantastic Four who want a 616 movie are okay with it.

They've used the Marvel banner since before there was a Marvel Studios or reputation, it's not a recent thing.

You may think it's shameful and pointless, but I doubt FOX execs would concur. Donner and Singer have both stated that the success of the animated series and the arcade game were the primary drivers for getting the X-Men movie into production. Without animated shows, Disney Infinity figures, t-shirts, backpacks, video games and the like, FOX will eventually be forced to make a deal that favors the Mouse. Marvel's playing the long game here.

I can't speak for everyone, but this longtime fan isn't a regular reader of the comics at this stage of my life. And I'm okay with Marvel playing hardball if it results in our getting the Fantastic Four in all their glory on the big screen.

Regarding Doom's face and mouth, his suit is definitely melted onto his body. In one of the early trailers we see a person badly burned and clearly in agony crawling on the ground in the N-Zone. The person's suit is burnt and melted and hos himelt is badly damaged and melted too. So I guess Doom's suit fuses/melts to his body. There is a close up of a body, arm and hand on a table in this new trailer and the "skin" is the suit that they wore when they first go to the N-zone but the suit is brown and charred and the green energy can be seen through the cracks.

Now why the green energy does that to him and the other four are pretty much altered without being harmed is anyone's guess. I guess the energy doesnt lik *****ebag hackers.

Which is sad given that Sue already needs an update from her 60s version. And this would seem to be regression.

I do like that they are making her a smart science-minded person and that she appears a lot more powerful than her Alba counterpart though. So perhaps that will be a forgivable point.

Wow. That last trailer sealed the deal for me. This looks absolutely awful.

Cringe-worthy dialogue, awful CGI (mainly on Human Torch), Reed,Sue and Johnny look 15. Only good thing I can say is that The Thing looks great.

In some ways, this looks worse than the original from 10 years ago, and I thought that would be a near impossible task to accomplish.

For the same reason that the three wardens in The Shawshank Redemption were compressed into one for the film adaptation: it tightens the screenplay. I actually don't blame them for this. It's something a lot of screenwriters would do. Then again, the Corman film pulled things off without doing it....And it also probably makes it more tempting when you don't care about making an accurate Doom in the first place, which is clearly the case with Fox.

Because he sposed be bad guy, so he ugly but in bad way. Not like rock man. He ugly but in good, sad way.

That's probably the long and short of what went on writing this movie.

It's going to be super cringe-worthy to watch dad tell her she has to stay behind because it's too dangerous, only to let son go ahead all willy nilly and then later on SHE becomes more powerful and then that proves herself.
