Just looking back at the "early" review by dony2012 that he swore was true....he didn't get a single thing the same as the new reviews say happened.

I was just thinking the same thing. That was a straight up troll job. People believed him too. Not cool.

Yeah I saw that too. That was messed up. Not only have Fox destroyed the Fantastic Four. Now they're damaging the Marvel brand. Combined with their dishonest critics spot during the embargo I find them down right despicable at the moment.

I'm surprised MARVEL is not suing Fox for that in some way. Damaging not only the Fantastic Fours reputation but MARVELs as well

As expected. No idea what he gets out of making stuff up, but there you go

And we've talked about this on this forum before, but there are a lot of people just checking in now that probably missed it.

IF Marvel gets the rights soon, why not include some scenes with a young Reed Richards, Victor Von Doom and maybe a brief appearance by college football star Ben Grimm in one of the upcoming Infinity Wars films?

Reed and Von Doom could be working on a theoretical spaceship drive. Maybe we could even see Von Doom injured while working late in a lab one night. He could then disappear to return at some later date . . .

I suspect that very soon we're going to start hearing a lot more about what specifically went down in Louisiana. Probably from the property owners and folks that were there to witness it.
This will happen because FOX will now allow it. It will be a way for them to put the blame squarely on Trank's shoulders and shift the focus from themselves.

Fox did Marvel a favor by making this look so unlike FF. It will be very easy for Marvel to differentiate themselves from this film if they choose to do so.

And they'd also start by building enthusiasm with people like us. I can almost guarantee that if Marvel shows up to next year's Comic-Con with a a big :ff: logo and 2020 date, nobody will be saying: "Again?! Another FF movie?!" with disappointment or disdain. They'll be thrilled.

Fans will be excited and it will build from there.

Most people don't have a clue who the Inhumans are, but once they start seeing trailers, they'll get interested. And I don't know why people would be less willing to see a well-done FF film with a trailer that shows some really cool things than they would be to see something like Inhumans that they've never heard of before.

Marvel's not dumb. Even if Fox finally gives up the ghost and lets these characters go home, Marvel is not going to give us an FF movie for a while. They're not giving us a Daredevil movie or a Punisher movie. They're doing things differently to bring these characters back. Daredevil thankfully had a long break so he's headlining his own show. But Punisher? Three awful films and he's now a supporting character.

Same with the Hulk. They are not confident enough yet that his film will make the money it needs to make but they're going to keep building him up - including him in other movies while they work things out with Universal so they can take another swing at it.

Look how much time they're taking with Thor 3 after the lukewarm reception to the last one and his movies are actually fresh rated.

Yes Spider-Man is getting rebooted right away but he is without a doubt Marvel's top character. He's Marvel's Batman. And his films WILL make money.

FF is just too toxic now. I can't think of any comic property with a more troubled history. People were already saying "FF again???" and the last one was eight years ago.

I believe Marvel will absolutely use the property in some capacity but I think as fans we need to brace ourselves for a long wait for an actual Fantastic Four feature film. This was it. This is why I was so upset this latest disaster was progressing to begin with. Fox was so close to losing the rights. They were gonna dump Trank but no one else wanted the job. So they marched forward with an unqualified director despite their reservations. Just to keep the rights.

If this film had not been made it would have been the perfect time to bring back the Fantastic Four in the MCU. Now we will have to wait even longer. If that day ever comes. I'm not optimistic at the moment.

I'm glad that this garbage is not going to supplant the FF we know and love and that it is getting its just desserts but I'm beyond sad that the FF have been screwed over yet again. So I feel vindication that we were right all along and weren't just being "haters" but it's not any kind of gleeful feeling. It just sucks. Period.

Lots of depressing truth here.
But youre right.Gonna be a while before the next fantastic movie MCU or not

Now will users that believed him like Cyclops admit he has wrong is the question ? Probably not

Some have already done so....so don't prejudge how people will react.

Would it be too early to ask for the "Holding out Hope for the Rights to revert" thread to be reopened?

The false advertising is unforgiveable.

In this case he gets banned.

:funny: Nice.

I actually got my hopes up a little after reading that only to realize it was probably fake. Good to know justice was served. Still baffled why anyone would do that.

I can't believe there is not a clause in the license that requires a minimun of quality. Something to prevent a rights grab like this one.

"And we were like, 'Well, maybe this is a bad idea. We'll get mobbed and it'll be crazy,' and not one person...not one person noticed us,"

I feel kind of depressed now :csad:

If the security guard had done more homework, Teller would have been getting a full cavity search.:cwink:

It's true. Teller should've been put on a No Fly List and red flagged as soon as he flashed his passport. :o

I really don't think that's the case. Fox wanted a cheap film to hold on to the rights, and I believe Trank offered them that, and let him make the film he wanted. Fox is alot less hands on with these films since Rothman left, as seen with Kingsmen, and the upcoming Deadpool. I personally believe they made those changes as they were deeply unimpressed with Trank's original cut, and had to try and salvage it to no avail.

I think it's a bit of both myself, Trank and Fox are to blame for this being a seeming mess. I hope if a sequel happens they hire a director with a clear vision from the off.

That's both hilarious and depressing.

I feel kind of depressed now :csad:

The PR trail for this movie has been as bad as the film itself appears to be. Between this and Teller's "This won't review well" gaff.

I'm willing to bet that people noticed them. They just did not give a damn

After seeing the movie, no doubt that Fox wrecked it, Trank's movie is there for like the first half, almost two thirds, from then on, you can see the hack job on the last third of the movie.

SURPRISE SURPRISE !
