Fant4stic: Reborn! - - - - - - - Part 41

Despite Fox's initial insistence that the Fantastic Four sequel was moving forward despite the box office failure of the first film, Fox has now officially removed the Fantastic Four sequel from their release schedule.

Fantastic Four 2 was originally scheduled for a June 9, 2017 release date, even before the first film hit theaters. With virtually all superhero movies performing well at the box office recently, Fox probably felt confident at the time that Fantastic Four would follow suit. However, Fantastic Four wound up being the rare superhero movie flop. Fantastic Four only grossed $56 million domestically and $167 million worldwide on a production budget of $120 million.

It's unclear if Fox removing Fantastic Four 2 from their schedule means the film is indefinitely canceled or if it will be rescheduled for a later date to allow more time for Fox to plan a strategy for what comes next.

Unfortunately that rotting corpse will be in stores soon to purchase for your home entertainment system!

Now bring it home, Marvel.

Fox: If everyone buys a copy of FFINO on Blu-ray, we promise we'll sell the FF rights back to Marvel. Also, although we wouldn't be doing the sequel, if we did, we'd do it right this time.

And then when everyone buys one, they'll say "Look, people are interested in our movie after all. Look at the phenomenal sales that reflect this. Maybe we won't sell the right back after all but we'll push on with that sequel instead." :o

I don't buy it, Kinberg says the sequel is still coming and I'm sure he wouldn't lie :o

The HONEST TRAILERS for this movie just went up.

The HONEST TRAILERS for this movie just went up.

LOL
Do the guys that make that post in this forum? Because almost every single line was something we said here, including "Crash Test Doomy" LMAO
We should've gotten writing credits.

Yeah, Crash Test Doomy definitely made me suspicious.

They just didn't want to take the sledgehammer to the decomposing corpse of Mr. Ed. The trailer made it clear that the movie sucks, the director disowned it, and Marvel Studios should have the next crack at it.

Aw come on, they were more brutal on Age of Ultron than they were here.

Age of Ultron is a good movie so they probably put more effort in finding flaws, and some of them are not even true (they name the Vision a lot). FFINO is so bad they couldn't add nothing to the disaster.

Everything bad they added actually ended up improving the film.

AoU has a lot more to unpack. They really didn't have to dig deep to uncover FF's glaring flaws.

Disney, just buy the ****ing thing back and reboot it. Actually don't even reboot it, just include the Four in future flicks and then lead up to them having a new adventure. No origin.

Wow at the scene where The Thingless punches Doom. PS2 graphics might be an insult to Playstations.

Perhaps they should have hired Square Enix's FMV team from, say, 2006 to handle it. Late PS2 gen Final Fantasy did CG characters better. Hell, Donald Duck and Goofy in Kingdom Hearts 2 were more realistic.

I don't know if this is the right thread, but I just want to mention that I've seen Fant4stic pop up high on a lot of critics Worst Films of 2015 lists.

I just watched a documentary called Atari: Game Over where they talked about how the E.T. game was so terrible, Atari dumped a million cartridges in a landfill out in the desert. Maybe the same thing will happen to Fant4stic?
