FFINO and Pixels, the top 2 movies in your country.
Yeah :(

Somehow, "kids" movies are the biggest moneymakers around here. Minions is still doing great, and I belive it recently became the highest attendance movie of all time (no kidding)

FFINO is also #1 in Bolivia, Peru, Mexico, and #4 in Paraguay & Uruguay.

It did 45% of Ant-Man's weekend but it's first Monday in comparison is already down to 33% ($6.4m vs $2.1m)

Tues should give it a bump because of cheap Tues but Wed will be lower than Mon and Thur even lower. It will be under $1.5m Thur, maybe even $1.3m.

So, if it gets down to 1.5M and follows Pixels (it's the closest I could find having "comparable" reviews), it would be just in excess of a 70% drop. A couple of things.....it got panned even worse than Pixels and I doubt it will have the Saturday bump Pixels got in its 2nd Saturday.

This thing is going to go down in FLAMES (how ironic).

Oh yeah......and would everyone do us all a favor and not bring up that Grace person ever again? Not even if she's at the bottom of the ocean.....

Well then what is FFINO doing at the top of the box office? It's not exactly a kids movie.

It's new and it's superhero. It's not going to be there for long.

Weekend Warrior on comingsoon.net is predicting 10.3 million for Fantastic 4 this weekend

Action/adventure always do well enough, like anywhere else in the world, and it's opening weekend, so there is that. The kids movie point was aimed at Pixels staying at the top (and monions, that was #4 this weekend)

For what it's worth, FFINO is #3 in worst audience score this year in cinesargentinos.com (THE movie site in ARG). #1 is a terrible horrible cheap local movie, #2 is Ouija.

So the question would be once again, what is it doing at the top?

Ouch. Apparently Argentinians like their beef and like really bad movies. :woot:
I would like to say no, but it's something that bothers me every year, how crap movies get, not only good boxoffice, but sometimes generally good reviews.

The critics around here really suck, I will give you that. Most can't analyze a movie properly, and the ones that produce a decent review are copy pasting general opinions... I guess the audience follows most of the time :(

On the upside, FFINO got "regular" from the most relevant media (and "regular" is like the lowest I usually see.)

Mine too (Argentina - tickets)

1- FANTASTIC FOUR [FOX] 93,403
2- PIXELS [UIP] 90,955
3- MISION IMPOSSIBLE ROGUE NATION [UIP] 90,787

Is that in pesos? Is that about $10,000?

That's tickets sold. It would be around $1 million. At the official exchange, for practical pourposes, is a whole different busssiness.

It's small potatoes anyway, the box office spot it's more a symptom of brand awareness and popularity than whatever money can get from Latin America

I'm sure Fox is betting on the foreign gross to help save this thing. They say they're still talking about moving forward with the sequel.

They'll be unlikely to get their money back.

Even if they did, that isn't good.

Came across this site (Box Office Mojo) and you can see the daily earnings for this film. Cool to keep up-to-date with:

Those Friday numbers.

The embargo should have been kept until 2019.

I guess we can hope something on the range of

Total Recall (2012) OW: $25,577,758 - Week2: $8,013,040 - Drop: -68.7%
Paranormal Activity 4 (2012) OW: $29,003,866 - Week2: $8,510,186 - Drop: -70.7%
Predators (2010) OW: $24,760,882 - Week2: $7,016,502 -Drop: -71.7%
Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013) OW: $21,744,470 - Week2: $5,279,245 - Drop -75.7%

A safe bet is $7M-$8M
