As balls to the wall insane as I expected... The Rock completely owned all his scenes and I would definitely pay to watch a solo Hobbs movie (maybe him & Elsa as a duo).

The final few moments were done well.

Those final scenes were perfect. With him and his family playing on the beach and the one last ride moment. Then the montage of Paul Walkers time in the franchise. I lost it there. Really saddening. RIP Paul.

Anyone see this in IMAX? Is it a must-see in IMAX?

One thing that I'm confused on, that I'm hoping someone here can help clarify is...

Is Owen Shaw dead or simply just comatose/paralyzed?

I didn't see it in iMax but you should just for some of the set pieces.

I think he's just in a coma. He had the breathing tube in his throat.

Looked like he was in a coma the way Statham was telling him to "rest up, little brother".

Ah I see. Thanks for the info.

It's weird to hear/see that he's still alive. I would have thought that him being thrown from the plane would have killed him instantly, especially since Gal Gadot's character died from a similar manner.

I just wanna say Tyrese's character was absolutely hilarious. :funny: The scene where they're
all planning how to intercept the bus carrying that hacker chick was funny.

Tyrese was hilarious, especially concerning the GOT chick.

Saw it, it definitely beats the last one by a mile. Lots of badass action, simple and straight to the point plot, and great quips.

My rankings:

Fast Five
Furious 7
The Fast and the Furious
Fast & Furious
Fast & Furious 6
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
2 Fast 2 Furious

Some people are predicting this one will make a billion?
really

watching the F&F films from start to finish, in preparation for part 7. I am almost done with FF1 right now, on to FF2 next :).

Saw this last night. Although I'd rank both F5 and F6 above it, it was still awesome and full of crazy action! The air drop from the trailers was glorious on the big screen, as well as the building-to-building car jump! And not seen in the trailers (not really that much of a spoiler, but still blacked out anyway for those who want to be totally surprised): [blackout]that there were actually two building-to-building car jumps, which was just insane![/blackout]

Not much I can add to the raving, this was just tons of fun to watch with tons of action—from the traditional car racing (briefly), various off-the-charts car stunts, a ground-to-air assault on a helicopter, and the always essential hand-to-hand fights. Michelle Rodriguez's fight against a henchwoman wasn't nearly as good as her first fight against Gina Carano in F6 though.

I also found it funny that Kurt Russell was literally credited as "Mr. Nobody". :p

Oh and of course Paul Walker. I don't know how they did it, but I honestly couldn't tell when a stand-in (CGI or otherwise, like one of his brothers) was used. And dang if that ending didn't cause me to tear up (man tears of course!), it just hit me like an emotional punch especially when that montage started and we got a look again at him from his original TFATF days when his hair was still straight-up blond! I'm a straight guy but even I'll admit that Paul was gorgeous back in the day with that hair and those blue eyes. I pretty much grew up with these movies too (was 18 when the first one came out) and will definitely miss him.

I'm also pretty sure this movie had the highest number of hotties in either bikinis or short shorts. So much eye candy there it was drool-worthy! Not that they all needed to show skin though, whoever mentioned the "hot teacher" picking up Paul's son was right, she was just drop-dead gorgeous.

It was weird having 'high school' kids in front of me last night, that were barely alive when the first film came out...

It's hard to rank these movies. I like them all, including Tokyo Drift.

Saw it last night, loved it. Still have to say that Fast Five is the best in the series, but this one was a blast and really tugs at your heart strings in the final moments. Great send-off for Paul. RIP.

Well, I just bought myself a ticket for tonight. Not sure if I'll end up going since I have to pick up my Aunt tonight from the airport so I might be pushing it.

Was thinking I wanted IMAX but I just went for a regular theater, maybe I'll like it enough to see it again in IMAX later so we'll see.

The only time I noticed CGI Paul was right at the end when he was having one last ride with Vin's character.

I'm assuming it's one of Paul's brother as a body double, and they superimposed Paul's likeness onto his face?

Not totally sure that IMAX is all that necessary for this movie, honestly. (Definitely forget it if your theater has one of those "LieMAX" screens, those aren't worth the price at all.) I mean it's not like a Nolan movie where actual IMAX cameras were used. But if your theater doesn't have a great sound system, forget it. :p

Heh, yeah. I know all about that nonsense and know which screens are legit around here. I think I should be fine for this movie. I don't want the baby oil on The Rock to be so massive it's dripping on me.
