"Feel the Bern": The BERNIE SANDERS Thread - Part 2

I understand the sentiment, and I suspect Bernie may have been overestimating the general bi-partisan support for felons regaining their right to vote. I am not necessarily against the idea, but there is a lot of logistics about it that I don't exactly trust.

Yea I really don't think people in prison having a vote makes any sense.

I think people who've served their time and paid their dues and are back in society should have their voting rights restored, absolutely. But people in prison?

Given how the US system imprisons people for the stupidest ****, they should absolutely have a voice. And policies affect prisons, for inmates, for those about to be released, and for those that could potentially be put away. Not giving those people votes is inhumane.

It’s definitely not the policy you put front and center of your campaign. It’s a relevant issue but far from crucial.

“You care more about criminals than you do about civilians!” is a criticism that’s just waiting to sink his campaign.
