FF 2 Rate and Review Thread

Saw the Movie, I'll give it a 7 out of 10. It was ok, but not really great.

I won't go much into detail, as I'm sure enough people have done that already. What the movie needed were at least 20-30 additional minutes to explain the whole deal with Galactus and the Silver Surfer. And while we're talking about Galactus, more than a silhouette in a cosmic cloud and a spoken line would've been nice. Now Doom, why was he even in that Movie? All he did was to steal the board, fly around and get his ass kicked even faster than the first time.

I thought Dr. Dooms suit was awsome it sent shivers up my spine and the last time that happened to me was seeing Spider-Man in the black suit and seeing Batman in full costume in Batman Begins

There is no black hole in the spot, and no bits and pieces flying everywhere. They were clearly sucked into something, so with no traces of a black hole being formed, it had to be a wormhole. That means, Galactus is still alive.

Not to mention, the Surfer has only a very tiny fraction of Galactus' power.

It was a decent flick, better than the first. I didn't like how Galactus was portrayed at all. Other than that a pretty decent flick.

This movie was so much fun. Out of all the big summer films Ive seen this one is my favorite of the year so far. I thought it was going to be terrible but I had a blast watching it!! It was great...soo much better than the Fantastic Four 1. The action was great and SFX were surprisingly very good...I wasnt really upset at Mr.fantastic's SFX as some people were...the only one that really wasnt good was when he was dancing in the nightclub, that was kind of bad. But really the family aspect of the four is better, the film was well paced...it was short but they worked with the small running time, I kind of wish it was long but the running time really didnt bother me as much as I thought it would . Also the PG thing isn't really true...this movie plays like PG-13 imo. Galactus didnt upset me either, he was much more intimidating than I thought hed be. I think also the F4 will see galactus again.

The movie had some good jokes as well and I was so happy to see Reed be Reed again. He was a leader again, love the part when he steps up to general hager and he finally seems smart.

I give it a 9/10. Its a really good summer film.
I cant wait for transformers...so far the smaller blockbusters have been stepping up

Just got back from FF-2 and thoroughly enjoyed it! Quite a bit better than the first one. The Surfer was cool, even when he was off the board (nice effects). Nice bits of humor, great action and a well done climax (which I thought was lame in the first one). My whole family enjoyed it and look forward to a part 3! Bring on Silver Surfer's own film!!

Because this movie is focused on the Silver Surfer. Not Galactus. If you want a Galactus/Gah Lak Tus movie, wait for the sequel or Silver Surfer spinoff, and then maybe you'll be happy. Right now, in the context of this film, I'm glad they didn't detract from the Surfer - or, more importantly, DOOM - by making Galactus or Gah Lak Tus show up in full.

ok i saw the movie .
remember i didnt want to but i did. i am really sad that i spend money on this movie. i really could wait..

first let me say that i think this movie is dumb. but this is not a bad thing.

some questions that i have.

why did general told mr fantastic that he regrets that he trust him?
the guy who build a machine that could tell tehm where SS is? the team that helped to rescue the people in england?
he trusts a guy who is evil. a guy who tryed to kill the F4. a
ohhh and why did F4 worked together with dr doom? simple question: why?

and the movie is pure fantasy. it is not in the real world. it looks like a realistic world but there are no rules. if i would saw a duck talking to a blond girl i would not be surpised.
johhny falls from a building on a car and there is nothing wrong?

effects:
mr. fantastic effects were pathetic. its like watching ILM in the beginning of the 90's experimenting with CGI. yes i knwo that this was weta but this has nothing to do with weta.
again pathetic. there was no difference in the toch effects. it looked the same .but ok i am happy with that.
the best effects were from silver surfer. thank god.

ok now back to the story.
this movie is about the fantastic four. but silver surfer saves the whole world. and at the end.....nothing. what happened? nothing.
why did johnny and sue talked about their father? why should i care? i never saw him ...they never talked. they wasted 10 seconds for the: father would be proud. why waste another 30 seconds for the bear?
why are the clothes from mr. fantastic strechng? again WTF.

so basicly this is a kid movie. it is a movie on a level for kids under 10 years. it is a dumb kid movie IMO. people who are older than 10 can enjoy this movie only because of hte effects. ohhhh we are backto the effects. they are nto groundbreaking . but at least SS was amazing.

its a movie that you watch when you have nothing to do. it is IMO on the same level as scary movie 3,date movie,white chicks.

last questions: why is the fantastic car flyign so fast? how did it get so fast to them? how the f... is this possible?

and johhny flys extrem fast. is he superman?

p.s. the voice os fishburne was idiotic. there was no reason to do this. i dont belive that this movie will make more money because of the name fishburne. doug has a nice voice and he could pull it off. dougs movement were also fantastic.

weren't paying attention that's your fault. He trusted Victor because Victor found out how to track the Surfer before Reed did, and had the info on how to defeat the Surfer. Victor made a deal with the General, and he accepted because they were all going to die.

I don't know the speed capabilites on the Fantasticar, but a supersonic jet is certainly capable of traveling that distance in a matter of hours. ICBM's were capable of reaching the north America within an hour, why not the fantasticar?

The movie might be dumb, but not as dumb as you apparently.

weren't paying attention that's your fault. He trusted Victor because Victor found out how to track the Surfer before Reed did, and had the info on how to defeat the Surfer. Victor made a deal with the General, and he accepted because they were all going to die.

I don't know the speed capabilites on the Fantasticar, but a supersonic jet is certainly capable of traveling that distance in a matter of hours. ICBM's were capable of reaching the north America within an hour, why not the fantasticar?

First off....there is no need to be rude just because you have a differing opinion than someone else about a movie.

Secondly.....the General also said that he trusted Doom more for the simple reason that he had a grudge against Reed from years before from when Reed stopped one of the general's projects from getting funded.

Yeah that was a nice scene of them two together, I agree with you.
Its amazing to me how Johnny managed to be funny this time without being annoying like in the first one.

Seriously though, Johnny's enjoyment of his 4x power as he kicked Doom's butt bothers me the more I think about it. He should have been off-the-chart furious, but cracking jokes and squeeling "wheee" as he used his stretching power to whip around a building spire. (Unless that's just in the ad?) It doesn't ring true. (But I admit it didn't occur to me at the time, probably because I knew of course that Sue would be fine.)
Anyway, it's definitely an emotional plot hole.
But certainly no bigger than the ones in Spidey 3 (which I did enjoy - just not as much as Spidey 2).

I don't remember hearing him go "Wheeee" or anything like that when he spun around the spire....has anyone else said they heard that?

I just saw it again, and that's not in there.

I think it was dubbed into that shot in one or more of the tv ads, though, probably to make it sound like Johnny was having fun with it.

Cool.....I knew I hadn't heard that, and hadn't read where someone else did....I was wondering if there were different versions out there like they did with the first FF movie.

Just saw the movie.

For the past few months I've been purposely avoiding this forum so I wont be spoiled and that kinda helped. But overall, this movie was just average. It was slightly better than the first one but thats not saying much.

My real problem with RotSS (and most Marvel films) was the writing. The dialogue and the jokes just didnt cut it for me. There was no real heart to the story. I didnt really feel anything for the characters as well. Not to mention, there were way too many plotholes but I'm sure alot of ya'll noticed that too. And sadly, Dr. Doom was pretty much pointless. Not to mention Galactus but thats another story.

There were a few things I liked however. The action scenes were good but nothing too spectacular. The interactions between the characters were better this time around but I guess thats cuz the actors have become closer now. And I'm not a huge fan of CGI but all of that looked pretty good here especially the Surfer.

One thing I was surprised about was the length of the movie. I admit I was skeptical of the 92 minute mark, but the pacing was fine. It didnt seem too short or anything.

Overall, I give this a 7/10. Thats very generous seeing as how I didnt enjoy any of the Marvel movies lately. After this, I'm not really going to care for superhero movies ever again. They've pretty much lost all their thunder and have become nothing more than just popcorn movies.
