FF 2 Rate and Review Thread

having said that, i'd watch a white black panther

he cant fit in and be respected as a wakandan, yet doesn't fit in anywhere else because if his african roots

I know it isn't really part of the black panther mythos but if worked into the plot, i see no problems with it.

actually i see no major problems with race changing entirely as long as it is done along all spectrums and isn't just the white going black line.

If a character per say is the best person to play the part than so be it. Saying this though, I don't think alba is the best person for susan storm, she would have been much better as being a love interest and future nova for johnny, especially seeing the incestual chemistry her and chris had during the film.

but that's not something that will keep me up at night or that i would call a major fault of the filim.

Damn, you don't know what you're missing. Season 6 was a huge let down but get your hands on the rest as soon as you can, its what tv was made for.:word:

24, Lost, and Heroes are all shows I am gonna end up getting on DVD soon (Heroes has to come out first). With series like these, I like to see them from start to finish instead of catching it in the middle.

Though everyone I know who watches 24 loves it.

I was not speaking of any of those things, it is apparent you missed the point of my post. It was about RESPECT of other's opinions, had nothing to do with whether I agreed with you or not.

I have a feeling that guy will have trouble getting it....or respecting other's opinions.

Lost is great definently buy those on DVD! Heroes is also really awsome

Doom said before when he spoke to the Surfer that they could be unstoppable, which translates to being the supreme world power, which would be true. He wanted to rule the world in this movie.

Agreed, however he was going to rule a world that was only going to be around for another 5 minutes.

Rather short sighted for Dr. Doom dont-cha-think?

Perhaps the writers should have implied that he was going for the board to ensure his own survival.

He could have just grabbed the board and gotten the heck outta Dodge. This way Doom survives, the F4 are dead, and he flies off to find a new planet to rule.

My $.02.

He didn't know about Galactus until Reed told him that the surfboard was drawing the destroyer. At that point why would he believe Reed? He probably thought he was trying to con him out of the board, because of the power.

It's not that difficult to figure out.

I wouldn't call it a great movie, but I enjoyed it. Much better than the first one. Loved Johnny and Ben haranguing each other, just as with the first one. I even liked all the family talk (makes me think the final movie will have Sue saying "Reed, there's something I need to tell you" 8 times during the movie, getting interrupted each time). Liked how weird their lives are. A bit overboard with Johnny and the sponsors. Didn't really see the need for Frankie at all. Although it's not too true to the comic, I think they did right in not showing Galactus - hard to translate to live-action without looking goofy, IMO.

There were some problems, and I was annoyed at all the "Sue must not find out Reed is working on this" stuff. But I still enjoyed it a lot more than Spider-Man 3 (though lower expectations probably played a part).

I only saw the movie once, but I was under the impression that once he figured out that the planets were dying 8 days after the Surfer arrived, it was pretty much common knowledge to the entire group.

BTW, good to hear from you son, how's Pepper? :cwink:

Doom wasn't part of the group at the time.

It amazes me how so many who watched the movie aparently weren't listening.

PARAPHRASING

Reed said:

"Everywhere the Surfer goes, eight days later the planet dies."

Sue in the Black Forrest:

"Why are you trying to destroy us?"

Surfer: "I am not the destroyer"

FF in the holding room in Siberia:

Sue: "It doesn't make any sense. Why would he protect me from that missle?"

Reed: "Wait he said 'he's not the destroyer'"

Sue to the Surfer in the interrogation room:

Sue: "you said you're not the destroyer, who is?"

Surfer: "The one I server."

Sue: "and whom do you serve?"

Surfer: "on my world he was called Galactus, the devourer of worlds...."

Sue: "what's bringing him here"

Surfer: "my power draws him here."

Sue: "your power? You mean your board?"

Surfer nods

Reed in Fantasticar chasing Doom:

"Victor it's the board, it's drawing the destroyer here, you have to give it up."

Doom: "come and get it Richards!"

Victor knew nothing of Galactus, he though the surfer was destroying the earth, just like the rest did. He just wanted the board for the power, and to destroy the Fantastic Four.

Point taken Mr. Stark.

No that is not shown in the movie...no.....nor was it in the novelization...

The thing is......it wasn't until Sue spoke with the SS that ANYONE knew that he wasn't the threat.......Doom NEVER had this information....for all he knew the danger was gone once he had the board......HENCE, Reed yelling at him twice....while they are fighting in the air, that the REAL THREAT is still coming and the board is what is bringing it....

Wasn't that pretty much what our esteemed Mr. Stark was pointing out in the paraphrased dialogue?

Movie was really good. Humor where it should be, action was also top notch as well as the effects. My only problem was Sue being too made up looking.

@IMD...
Apparently so....

Surfer: "The one I server."

Sue: "......The hell?...."
ahahhahaahahaha! I edited Sue's line......I guess i wasn't paying attention either during the movie....server !lol:woot:

I loved it. The comedy was great and so was the action. The only thing that I dissapointed me was how Galactus was defeated. I didn't really understand what SS did. He just blew himself up and that somehow destroyed his creator? Oh well though, it's a movie and it was a great movie.
I don't think his creator was destroyed, but I think he listened to the Surfer.

If Galactus is dead in the SS spin-off, I will give everyone who is right now thinking he is dead $5. I am that confident he is alive, and they were sucked into a wormhole.

And I will double all the winners money!

Did you even stay to see the scene of Surfer ALIVE during the credits? And why is it so hard to accept teleportation? Surfer did teleport Doom when he shot him, did he not? I can't believe no one's mentioned that :whatever:

The fact that it was put after the credits is a joke.

Are you kidding? Did you actually watch the movie? Doom didn't get teleported. He got knocked back through a wall of snow and ice into a cave. Please make more stuff up to convince yourself that the Surfer ending wasn't bad. That's why no one mentiond it. The movie ending made Surfer shallow for sparing Earth just because Sue reminds him of his girl. And, how it didn't occur to him until then that he had a choice. AND, that he thought he could defy Galactus after years of servitude and dozens of planets knowing well that Galactus gave him his power. The ending really screwed up the movie. They go to Japan for a low profile wedding? Japanese people would be as fanatical about the FF as American celebrities. They should have gone somewhere secluded for a wedding if they wanted to escape publicity. So much for Reed's "better idea". I'm not saying the movie was horrible. I liked most of it. Overall, I enjoyed it more than Spidey 3. But, the ending was sloppy. The acting could have used a few more takes. Doom and Surfer could have been better presented with more dimension. I don't see how anyone who really knows the Surfer could be satisfied with that ending. He looked great, sounded great, but the movie didn't have him down perfect. Too bad most people think differently. Then again, how many real SS fans are there.

You must have missed Sue sacrificing her life to save the Surfer, whom was responsible for the planet being in danger.
