Okay I had my fun.

While FF deserves a third, Daredevil was such a piece of garbage that it would defy logic to make more garbage.

The director's cut was actually pretty good. They screwed themselves with that, theatrically. There would've been another DD film had Elektra not bombed horribly (Elektra was supposed to be film #2 in the franchise). Odd, but true.

I had always wondered if Fox was going to do the same with the FF franchise. Make a SS film first, and then do FF3, if SS is successful

Hopefully that's not their plan.

Just saw Rise of the Surfer today and I thought it was a major improvement on the first film. I believe the story could've been a little tighter and less rushed, but with an hour and thirty minutes it was handeled as well as possible. The scenes with the Surfer were beautiful and awesome and I hope they do a spin off of just the Surfer with the actual form of Galactus as in the comics.

Overall a decent film, the story could've been much better and the action scenes really helped pull this movie along. As I said, it was a major improvement on the first film and it was a good fun movie. I suggest it for a viewing in the theatre at least once and definately a pick for dvd.

I'm a bit confused...I just saw the movie again (loved it even more), but the one thing I noticed about this viewing (versus the midnight screening...and the bootleg I have) was that it is edited.

The Midnight screening version:
As Silver Surfer enters the heart of the Galactus storm cloud and saids to him "I will no longer serve..." it then cuts to a very clear visible image of a firey Galactus, and then cuts back to Surfer as he continues the say "this is the ned for us both".

Today's version:
Once Surfer saids his full line, it then cuts to an image of the 'less clear' version of Galactus' firey image.

Please help...am I making this up or has anyone else noticed this!!

I saw the movie today with some friends. The general consensus was that it was pretty good and everyone thought it was much better than the first one.

I really liked it. I liked the characterization of the fantastic four, the story was solid... It was funny, I was thoroughly entertained throughout... I could have gone for some more action, to be honest (too much "saving" not enough with Doom) but overall it was a short satisfying movie -- not on the caliber of top tier superhero movies, but definitely above average.

Surprised so many are hating on it.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. BUT........why haven't we seen an ass-kicking Thing vs. "Somebadguy" scene yet? Pretty odd if you ask me. Just wondering.

I have seen it a few times now, and the comments I have been getting from the friends that I have taken to see it is that there just aren't any proper fight scenes in there that interested them. My brother, who liked the first movie, didn't say a thing about this one after he saw it. That is a bad thing. All he spoke about was Transformers before and after the movie, that seems to be the one that most guys are interested in currently.

I don't know that people are as well receiving of superhero comedy as they are serious superhero movies. It is looking like people want something that they can take a little more seriously. The Incredibles was probably an exception because people seem to love the Pixar movies.

That's sad. I personally thought the first film was a massive disappointment. Went to see this one for the second time last night, however, and still loved it. They finally got me an FF film I can really get behind.

As you can see from the poll, most people have been happy with it. After opening weekend, this was basically a big lovefest forum. But for some reason, over the past weekend, we've gotten a big infusion of haters... not to mention a number of trolls who are contributing nothing useful, just hurling around hyperbole.

I think people need to do what I did.....I went to see the movie again, and reminded myself that I really, really enjoyed it, and it doesn't matter what people will say.........its all about ME enjoying it..... And it will stay about ME....enjoying it.....

Honestly, most movies I love seem to get a lot of hate. I'm the Captain of the S.S. Minority Opinion, and believe me, it's VERY tiring.

I was in the X-forums a whole two days before I gave up discussing X3, lol. That got tiring.

Spider-Man 3 I am sick of fighting over now, and I am kind of glad that forum has been slower as of late (I can't exactly leave it...it is a Spidey board after all).

Defending movies many hate is a tiring excercise, I agree.

I am not a "gamer".... video games don't hold that much interest for me whereas you have a whole generation or two that likes nothing better than to spend hour after hour with the combat style games. When I did play video games, I liked stuff like Frogger, Ms Pac Man, Dungeons and Dragons and so forth. When the games became more like a "let's beat the controller" to death kind of thing I lost interest. t: So maybe that's why the younger males have that as a frequent complaint. BTW, I thought the best scene in POTC: At World's End was the battle in the maelstrom between the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman so I am not completely adverse to action scenes....I just think FF could have used a bit more of that sense of epic.

I didn't like Doom's defeat just because it was far too easy. With all that power, Doom should have been much tougher. Insteadm Johnny (with a lot less power) owns him. I didn't like that.

Why didn't he just zap the damned thing?t: Same thing happened in "Unthinkable" .... he had it all over Reed until Doctor Strange gave him some unnamed mystic relic, after spending time trying to teach Reed magic, and just says "Here, use this".

But at least it was cool and showed Reed outsmarting him. He was gloating too much in the comic (being typical Doom). Here, he got overpowered by a being of far inferior power. That is just not how Doom should lose. It was far too easy.

But it did require Reed to take a risk and guessing that Galactus would have set up a barrier to stop the Surfer from escaping. Not very smart of Doom not to make the same assumption for that matter.

But Doom wasn't there and didn't know exactly what happend. Reed took a well calculated risk based on Doom not having the full story.

Great solution, maybe not, but I liked it. At least in the comic, Doom was the one doing the punking as opposed to getting punked.

They needed to make Johnny's struggle to destroy the thing at least harder. The fact he owns the entire fight bugs me.

I saw it friday and must admit that I liked - a much needed improvement over the original. Now I'm just bummed that I'll have to wait 2 years to get the extended cut of the movie on dvd...

well I finally saw it. I didn't pay to see it. Cause after the butchery of the first movie I decided never to pay for another FF movie made by Fox. That said...I actually did enjoy this movie. It was more epic, the action was top notch and the effects were better....but again the only downside is Doom. The actor playing him is just totally and utterlly wrong for the role. Also the end was a bit of a let down. We get teased with that "shadow" of Galactus....and there's not big reveal or epic battle with him.

But...it is a step in the right direction. I'd love to see a Surfer movie though

I give it a 7/10, I give the first Fantastic Four, a 9/10.

Jessica Alba is good, but the bad wig and make-up were distracting... This movie just had a bad script... and make-up/hair.

The first one is better on every level...

i think this was a good movie. i voted 4. im not a fantastic four comic reader so i dont know how accurate the surfer situation was but i thought the plot was well put together. I think it was definitely better than the first one.
