One question:

How did the Goblin hide all those caches of pumpkin bombs around the city with no one noticing or tipping off the authorities? :)

i don't get it. We all saw norman get blown to bits and then we saw another norman with blonde hair and the mustache my head is about to explode!! What happen. There no way the goblin should have surived that blast. No way possible. No it was to good of an explosion for anybody to survived. So can somebody tell me what the hell going on here because i'm seriously confused. Norman got blasted and then they showed another one at the airport i think that could have been the chameleon. I don't know i need a good explanation.

So, how long do you guys think Norman will stay where he was travelling to at the end of the episode?

He's the Green ****ing Goblin.

Is the only answer I can think of.

He'll probably stay on the move not stay in one place for long, maybe change his looks a couple of times while thinking of the ultimate plan to get rid of Spider-Man.

I hope they don't use him next season and just hint that's he still around.

Honestly, I guess Osborn just had some water towers built and had the "Gob squad" put together everything inside them...then loaded them with his gimmick bombs...to kill one guy...No matter how in control he thinks he is, he is crazy.

The man did backflip over a building before... so I assume he just jumped...

Probably a few months...In this series it hasn't even been a year yet.

He survived, Get over it.

I loved how Norman survived.

The ending reminded me of Silence of the Lambs.

It would of been cool for Norman to call Peter up or something, though faking to not know what happened, Norman hangs up wherever he is and walks off with Peter standing by the phone.

NORMAN: Hello, Peter.
PETER: Mister Osborne. There's something -
NORMAN: There's nothing more for you to say, Peter. You've said or done enough already. And I'm afraid it's made me standoffish. But I like it here...
PETER: Where are you?
NORMAN: You know I can't spoil that. Yet. But I'll tell you what you can do... can you keep a secret?
PETER:... I'm not sure what secret I'm suppose to keep.
NORMAN: Oh, you do Peter. I know you do. Just remember who wears the masks, who's real, and who is really hiding behind them. Bye.

Hangs up, walks away like in Silence of the Lambs.

Same way the Joker hid all the oil barrels and explosives everywhere in the Dark Knight?

I can't believe season two is finally over! Let the long wait for season three begin...

A great ending to a great season. In this episode, everything was cleared up. The Green Goblin was Norman. Norman did frame Harry. That was the Chameleon who stole Oscorp data back in season one.

The fight between the Green Goblin and Spider-Man was always so brutal and violent. Pumpkin bombs exploding everywhere, razor bats cutting Spider-Man...What a battle! The fight in the beginning was like the season finale of season one. In season one, Spider-Man fought the Big Man's thugs. In this finale, Spider-Man fights the Green Goblin's (Big Man) thugs.

Again, I felt bad for Liz. I wish she could stay with Peter, but I guess Peter had to be honest and go for his true love: Gwen. I hope Liz will stay friends with Peter. Gwen, on the other hand, tried to break up with Harry. However, Harry made Gwen feel guilty about his father's death and how she is the only one who can keep Harry off the green.

Nice homage to the Spider-Man: The Movie. Spider-Man's costume was ripped up.

Question: Do you think Norman knows that Peter is Spider-Man? I mean, his mask was ripped. I'm sure Norman should be able to notice Peter's eye.

10/10!

Oh please, SSM isn't THAT silly.

I imagine he had a few cops on his payroll too. He's a crime lord after all.

I'm pretty sure that Norman's known Peter was Spidey for a while- at least since the beginning of this season, in fact. There was his sudden interest in mentoring Peter for one thing, and his denial in 'Identity Crisis' seemed a bit too definite, if you know what I mean. As to why he didn't reveal it in this episode- they're in a flying battle over the city, where anybody could hear the revelation and/or see Spidey's mask getting ripped off. Norman clearly planned on surviving, so I would assume he intended to keep the knowledge to himself as a final weapon. If (which is to say 'when') he returns in future seasons, I'd imagine he'll use his knowledge to accomplish his revenge.

I really loved this episode and thought it closed all the mysteries of the Goblin saga while still leaving the potential for more. I mean if they do get renewed for S3 they could possibly have Norman as "Mr Romann" (brilliant anagram Norman) striking out at Peter (he probably knows) from the Caymans through advance agents or something by attacking his normal life. Notice he looked kind of like Roderick Kingsley from the comics? Aside from the stache.

I assume from the funeral that Harry told everyone Norman was the Goblin? Wonder how that will affect faith in OsCorp now. Speaking of which, who is the OsCorp CEO since Harry is still underage and not old enough to gain Norman's controlling interest of the stock? Emily?

The city has been left with all of its major big bads out of commission. Of course while this means the really deadly dudes are down, it also means the hordes upon hordes of lesser powers (but still deadly powers) will be coming out of hiding now.

Harry is showing that the last 6 months have awakened his "inner Norman", makes me wonder if he's going to try and limit Gwen and Peter from interacting at all now. I got a bit of the creep vibe from him at the end.

Ah well Pete, the city's full of lovely ladies and since you're broody now that'll attract them like moths to a flame.

Awesome episode.

All I'll say is this. Norman HAS TO. I repeat. HAS TO UNMASK SPIDER-MAN. BEFORE Harry becomes the Goblin. That is what makes him Spidey's greatest enemy. That is why their rivalry is one of the greatest in comic lore. It's the reason he killed Gwen in the first place.

(Oh yeah. She was also the mother of his kids. But I pretty much pretend that story didn't exist.)

They also have to do it because Norman dulling Peter's spider-sense, capturing him, and telling the story of how he became the Goblin while Spidey sits tied up in a chair listening, is one of my favorite Spidey stories!

In fact, I'm gonna go read it right now!

Great episode. It all comes down to a perfect end.

My only problem with this series is that its a kid show. It's such a pity that we cannot get away with showing more mature themes and gritty scenes. I miss the drug using allucinations that Norman so frequently induced on Peter, I miss all the psychological games the comics portrayed. Instead of having a hole episode with Spidey fighting the same guys on the Vault, we could have had a full episode of Goblin tormenting Peter setting things up for a much more climatic finale.

Oh well.. 8/10

The show also suffers a bit from it's short length. The ending felt so rushed in this one, trying to wrap it all up in the 20 minute length..

I like the way Chameleon jumped out of that copter he was like f*** this um goin to the house.

I'm in the same boat as you. Either that Norman was a fake or somehow he managed to dodge it. From the looks of it I won't he was a fake, the only way I can see them explaining this is that he got pushed away by the initial force of the explosion and nobody saw that, or maybe he pressed a button to make the bombs explode just before he reached the heart of it and that allowed him to be pushed back by the initial force, rest of the explosion not affecting him at all. But even I don't fully believe my own explanation ;), let's see what happens though. This will be explained since even the characters in the show would be pondering over the same question when GG shows up :).

He survived, Get over it.

Why? He has a very valid question. If this was some other "villain" everything surrounding him/her would be brought into serious questioning. For now we can give our own theories as to how he survived, just for fun.

Chameleon apologizes...remember?
Norman "never apologize", as he said in the airport.

^I don't get what you mean there  If you're referring to what I said about Norman being a decoy when going into the tank of explosions, I meant he could be a second double, perhaps something like what Mysterio used: a robot. But I wouldn't say it's possible since that Norman was the real deal.

Nothing would surprise me when you got Miles Warren the clone master and Quentin Beck the robot master on the show anything is possible.

If the show starts making use of such farfetched ways of getting out of tight spots, I'm done with it. No clones. Ever.

Wow o wow what a wicked episode the season finale was. I enjoyed every single minute of it. I cant believe the plot, action, and all the twists we got in the episode. What a great way to close out the return of the green goblin arc and the season(hopefully not the series).

The start of the episode was pretty good with spidey searching the city for harry who been missing for days and the goblin(who he still thought was gobby at the time). The pumpkinhead lackys were pretty cool to see again. Nice to see that some time has elsaped since last episode and this episode. So it works for the city way mob of lackys, and the whole set up of goblin bombs throughout the city we saw later in the episode. Like others have said it would be wicked sweet if they say one of the lackys was jason macondale aka the jack ol' latern/at one time the hobgoblin.

It was good to see peter, gwen, and harry talking about the green and him possibly being the goblin. Which then leads us into is harry really the goblin after the story he told that he was kidnaped by the goblin. Loved that line both peter and harry said at the same time. Then we got to see peter and gwen have a nice heart to heart talk after the advice aunt may gave peter. Its nice to see that they both have finally amitted to each other their love, to bad harry heard the whole thing.

Then we got to see peter and gwen trying to find the right moments to break things off with liz and harry so they could finally get together. Loved the scene with peter, gwen, and mj it was very funny and nice to see mj is trying to be matchmaker for them. As for peter's break up with liz it was sad to see it happen since she did really like him. But like typical highschool popular girls she had to put on a mask and make it look like she dumped peter.

As for the conners it sad to see them go after what has happened with the lab and the take over by miles warren. Nice to see them going to fl like some incarnations of the comics they were there for awhile. I hope this could lead to return of lizard next year in fl setting would be epic to see. As for martha's line to peter and gwen about miles, i so hope we dont see any clones happening to soon. Though i bet Greg would make an epic clone arc.

As for the mystery as to who is the goblin is it harry, is it norman, donald macken, emily it was played out very well. The story worked well and i loved all the hints throwing spidey every different direction. As for the reveal as to him be goblin and had chamelon working for him even though he was stealing from him before was sweet. i was so happy that norman was the goblin all along and i had a feeling like others that he was the master manipulator and set things all up on harry. Loved how the harry reveal was all staged by gobby. He is one sick sob.

As for the battles throughout the episode they were all great and i enjoyed them all. As for norman dying that was a wicked scene. And as for him still being alive their is many easy reasons you can bring up to how he survived. Also the graveyard scene was great too and man harry is so becoming his father and guilting gwen to stay with him. Man i cant wait to see where things could go if we get 3rd season. And i really hope we do. This is one of the most well thought out, planed, and written hero series out there and i would hate to see it end like this. Also loved the ref to gargen who we all know greg has stated many times he wants to do hobgoblin and scorpion for 3rd season.
Well thats my review guys.

Chameleon doesn't known Norman's "I never apologize" theme. That's why it wasn't him at the airport, it was Norman, who said once again "Don't apologize. I never do" when he was about to leave.
And why would Chameleon disguise as a disguised Norman when he can be anyone else?
Doesn't make sense. That was Norman at the airport.

a couple of gripes

spidey killing osborn, not sure if that was a good move, always thought it would be best if harry thought spidey had killed him

they should have also hinted on the regeneration effects of the goblin formulae

good ep but not as good as gangland.

they should have done the arcs in reverse. It wasn't worth goblin becoming the big man for this three part story.
