Final Fantasy XV

Guys it's not getting mixed reviews, as Havok83 and Iceman mentioned in the previous page, an 86 in metacritic is great..

Oh right. It's 86 on metacritic which is guess is lower than all the top titles in the franchise and more good than great. I haven't had time to read the reviews yet so that's a bit disappointing. Glad it's not any worse at least, I'll still enjoy any good FF title, but I thought this was an opportunity for this franchise to get back to the top. :csad:

86 is not anything to be disappointed about. Its not mixed. There isnt a bad review out there. Its not like mostly good ones with several bad ones dragging down the score. The lowest is an 80 with about half split between 90s and 80s. Its doing great. Id be more concerned if we did see a bunch of scores sub 70 but that isnt the case

Yes, I interpreted Darth's 'middling' as middling for a top tier FF game rather than middling for a regular game (plus I haven't read the content of the reviews so far). My current favourite Gears 4 only got 85 and many other favourites are in the mid 80s and there was nothing disappointing about them.

On the flipside FF XIII managed to get low 80s and I was hoping there was a chance of a breakout hit that pushed FF back to where it once was at the top of gaming. Like you say though, very encouraging that there aren't any reviews giving it below 80 so far.

Read and watch the reviews. This does not read like a game a decade in the making or a great Final Fantasy. It reminds me of XIII reviews. It reads like, "well yeah, it is another game. A good one, but with obvious issues."

At least the graphics weren't ridiculed though, that was my biggest worry of the game lol.

why? We've seen countless previews and they've released several demos. Graphics criticism should have the least of anyone's worries

Honestly I could live with some subpar graphics if they got some capable writers and a director. I definitely care about graphics, but it is well behind gameplay, story, atmosphere and art design for me.

Happy adventuring through Eos, hype! :woot:

Really want to buy this but don't see the point until I finish FFX, which I am still quite a way from doing.

From reviews though and details a friend who has played it today have told me, it sounds like a game I will love.

as you should. This game will be here waiting for you and will likely be cheaper by the time you get to it

Yeah I am hoping by the time I buy it the glitches have been worked on and I have a bit more free time also.

no. the main party consists of the 4 male character ( Noctis and his 3 friends ).

there will be occasions where guest characters join the party.

Ahhhh... well this will be a boxing day pickup for me (or when ever it comes on sale).

I think the same and have unfinished business too on the recent FFs.

I'm really torn on this.

On the one hand, it's Final Fantasy and I've been waiting for so long.

On the other hand, the reviews/impressions have confirmed my worries about the game and the story/direction has become so far removed from the original Versus XIII which got me interested in the 1st place.

Also, I had originally planned on playing this on the Pro, so I'm not sure if I should just hold off in case I decide to ever give the Pro another chance in the future. ( IDK....it just feels weird playing a FF game on something other than a PlayStation......lol ).

 I believe either 12 or 13 are getting a remaster also. And I have X2 to play after X as well.

Oh right surprised that 13 would get one. But that would be great for me on 12 as that and 9 (as well as the 13 sequels, although I don't consider them to be as important) are the ones I never finished.

12 is getting a remaster. but I haven't heard anything about 13.

I wouldn't mind a 13 collection remaster, but the 13 series wasn't exactly popular with the FF community......lol.

I liked 13, not as much as any of the other FF games, but still fun to play. I own the sequels but no idea when I'll get around to finishing them.

the 13 games were also released on the 360, so if they do get a remaster, there's a high chance they'll come to the X1 as well. Of course, they could also be released as BC on the X1.

the 13 games also starred female protagonists.

so, I wouldn't mind playing through them on the X1 ( I only played a bit of the 1st game on the PS3 ).
