Oh right. It's 86 on metacritic which is guess is lower than all the top titles in the franchise and more good than great. I haven't had time to read the reviews yet so that's a bit disappointing. Glad it's not any worse at least, I'll still enjoy any good FF title, but I thought this was an opportunity for this franchise to get back to the top.![]()
Yes, I interpreted Darth's 'middling' as middling for a top tier FF game rather than middling for a regular game (plus I haven't read the content of the reviews so far). My current favourite Gears 4 only got 85 and many other favourites are in the mid 80s and there was nothing disappointing about them.86 is not anything to be disappointed about. Its not mixed. There isnt a bad review out there. Its not like mostly good ones with several bad ones dragging down the score. The lowest is an 80 with about half split between 90s and 80s. Its doing great. Id be more concerned if we did see a bunch of scores sub 70 but that isnt the case
Read and watch the reviews. This does not read like a game a decade in the making or a great Final Fantasy. It reminds me of XIII reviews. It reads like, "well yeah, it is another game. A good one, but with obvious issues."Yes, I interpreted Darth's 'middling' as middling for a top tier FF game rather than middling for a regular game (plus I haven't read the content of the reviews so far). On the flipside FF XIII managed to get low 80s and I was hoping there was a chance of a breakout hit that pushed FF back to where it once was at the top of gaming. Like you say though, very encouraging that there aren't any reviews giving it below 80 so far.
At least the graphics weren't ridiculed though, that was my biggest worry of the game lol.

Really want to buy this but don't see the point until I finish FFX, which I am still quite a way from doing.
From reviews though and details a friend who has played it today have told me, it sounds like a game I will love.
as you should. This game will be here waiting for you and will likely be cheaper by the time you get to it
no. the main party consists of the 4 male character ( Noctis and his 3 friends ).
there will be occasions where guest characters join the party.

I think the same and have unfinished business too on the recent FFs.
I believe either 12 or 13 are getting a remaster also. And I have X2 to play after X as well.
