Comics Final Issue of X-Men: Genesis

Scott and Emma have control of the Institute, as it was given to them following Xavier's disappearance (his trip to Genosha). Didn't Whedon make a mention of their control in the first run of Astonishing? DON'T quote me on that - I'm not sure, only suspecting, and wanting to think I saw it as such.

IIRC, no. Emma and Scott might run the Institute but they don't own Xavier's estate. I don't think anybody has actually mention this in the comic.

Xavier must have turned over most of his assets to Scott and Emma or the X-Men as a whole. How else would they be able to run the Institute? Well, there's Emma's money but...

When Xavier left for Genosha he thought he would be there for good. It would make perfect sense for him to sign everything over to the X-Men. I'm sure he kept money for himself, but the Institute is probably no longer his. And he would've left some sort of trust fund for the X-Men to keep things running.

While it sounds like a logical thing to do, it has never been written on paper (well as far as I know).

I enjoyed the story but come on.

Because a simple optic blast of force isnt eneough...someone had to go and make it a dimensional rift convoluted load of cow flop. LOL.

i was thinking the same exact thing such a load of crap as is vulcan being the third summers brother it was and always will be Gambit to me.

By the way i love the vulcan back story about krakoa and all that just not the summers thing.

well i wonder how there gonna Xplain Prof.X in Uncanny X with the new writer jumps on. interesting.. peace.

Scott's powers are conversion of sunlight into power to fuel the opening of the dimensional apertures in his eyeball which release beams of heatless, apparently radiationless force. Alex's are the conversion of sun and starlight into plasma that erupts from his entire body but generally focussed from his hands. Did any issue prior to #5 of Deadly Genesis tell us exactly what Vulcan's original powers were?

Manipulation of energy. It would seem he can also generate it to a certani extent (a plasma like consistency like Havok) but he is called by Xavier in the back up story of issue 4 as a energy manipulator (and possibly one of the strongest on the planet).

As far as the whole Xavier thing, how about the first time he "died"? He had Morph (or Changeling, whichever you prefer) shape shift into him and yet the X-Men still had a home.

And what about when he was cruising in space with Lilandra? Hard to maintain property rights when you're not on the planet...

If people can say it's stupid to believe Hulk has never killed anyone when it was stated in comics he never had, then I can say it's stupid to think that Xavier would not have created a foundation that would ensure the X-Men could continue on no matter if any single member died.

Brubaker is going to be the new writer on Uncanny...and he wrote this mini-series.

In other words, it won't cause issues (since he probably already has an idea of how to deal with Xavier).

Yes. Deader than a doornail. Until he gets resurrected.

Vulcan and Darwin are alive. One or both of them have the abilities of Petra and Sway as well (it's possible Darwin took them with him when he was split off.)

Thanks for the answer Wolverazio!
Nah I liked Sean

I love when people come in and start shouting their mouths off and really have no clue what they are talking about.

The house does NOT belong to chuck anymore....he ABANDONED the x-men when xorneto destroyed Manhatten remember??

Scott & Emma rebuilt the mansion with their own money[that was the whole point of HCT]...they decide who stays and who dosent.

They run the show now...and they are getting things done.

And for years Chuck has been running around doing as he likes and keeping his dirty little secrets to himself..and he allways expect the x-men to sit there and shut up and to ''understand''...well its about time someone called him on all his feck ups..and im glad to see it was Scott.

I couldn't resist and spoiled #6 for me...so Darwin survived? I figured he would considering his powers make him hard to kill off. I know it would've defeated the whole intent of the story, but I was wishing they all survived. These characters had potential.

When did Xavier say he abandoned the X-Men? Also, just because he doesn't live at the mansion does not mean he doesn't own it.

Uh...no. I don't know where you live at but you can't just build a house on somebody else land. Everything on that land belongs to Xavier. Unless Scott or Emma have bought the land from Xavier, which we have no record of.

Sadly, their not getting anything done.

It's also HIS Name on the sign... if they really want to kick him out then they need to change the name of the school... or what's left of it. Honestly Emma and Scott... what did they do? Get most of their X-students killed.

^That's exactly what they did. I found it quite pompous of Scott to even attempt to kick Charles out of his own house. When Xavier starts using his powers again (you know he's not depowered), I hope he punishes Cyclops.

okay so you obviously don't agree with scott did. so tell me, what should scott have done knowing that xavier messed with his mind?

ACcepted the fact that Xavier has been messing with his mind since they met, that he's nothing but a tool of the current psychic and that he should get a life far away from the X-Men...

Scott could always hit the road if he feels so betrayed :o

...and take his ****e with him.

Funny.. But it's not only scott he betrayed. Most of the x-men probably don't like Xavier right now.

Beast welcomed him back with open arms. Emma and Rachel didn't seem to feel "betrayed". I can't see Colossus, Cannonball, or any other of the "softspoken" X-Men holding a grudge for longer than a few days. The only people I see being really angered by it would be Havok, Cyclops, and Rogue(cuz she's angsty).

There's a little thing called gratitude. Without Chuck, a lot of them would either be dead or homeless cuz their parents disowned them. It's like when your mommy lied to you about Santa and the tooth fairy. Yeah, you were disappointed when you found out they were fake, but you didn't try to evict your parents.

read the danger arc. the astonishing team( yes even colossus) is very dissapointed in him right now. But seriously Scott still cares Xavier. He is just angry and dissapionted in him right now.

I thought the Danger arc portrayed a lot of those X-Men out of character. Whedon and Brubaker will no doubt have different opinions on how the team will react to Xavier's "betrayal". Remember, this is a man they thought was dead up until now; you'd have to be pretty heartless to be mad at a guy you thought was dead. He had just ran away when they encountered him in Astonishing.

There is also something called responsibility:spidey: And Xavier has got to be accountable for what he has done. What do you expect Scott to do? Forgive Xavier right away?

And you have to be really numb not to feel angry when someone wronged you.. Anyways whatb would you do if you were in scott's shoes? What is the right thing to do?

Oh, no doubt what Xavier did was wrong; but like I said, it may have been a necessary deception. Scott is the one who may need to take time off to collect himself and forgive Xavier.
