Comics Storyline info for Brubaker's upcoming run on Uncanny

Yeah I wish they'd of touched on that subject. Shouldn't of just left it hanging like that. I was a bit of a fan of Annie and Havok and thought they worked well. I don't know, I just liked the two of them together.

As far as this lineup goes I'm kinda digging it and looking forward to the read.

I like to refer to that moment as "The Austen Cop-Out." As soon as he left the book, he decided to just magically undo his entire run over the course of one or two issues. So suddenly, Annie & Carter are gone and no one cares, Juggernaut and Nocturne (a left-over from Austen's run on Exiles) have faded away, and half of his cast isn't on an active team.

I get that the guy's run wasn't exactly popular, but he should've at least had the guts to leave something behind for the next writer. Even the stuff that some of us liked was gone.

I dunno. I kinda see it as his ultimate payback to the constant complaints about how sucky he was as a writer. "Fine, you guys don't like what I've done? Then I'll take it all away, and you can all complain that I did that, too." It really does stress the point, though, that some people will flat-out complain regardless of what the writer.

Look, I'm not saying that Austen was God's gift to the X-Men, but he did do some good things, and at least his stories were X-oriented and not utterly Sci-Fi. And his Havok was a leader, and yes, he might have set the precedent for the Havok-Polaris-Iceman stuff, but I don't think it was without merit. Personally. It could have gone somewhere.

If that's the case, then that makes him an even bigger child than the ones who complained about him.

I don't recall having ever entered into any type of debate regarding Austen's (or his critics') quality of maturity or immaturity, so whatever.

And I never said this was any kind of debate so I don't know what you're "whatevering" about.

Cool cover, where did you get that?

I just hope Uncanny X-Men is going to be better. I don't like the last issues of Claremont

Claremont has been falling off so it's nothing.

You just have to remember that brubaker is going to start soon.

I didn't hate Claremont's last two story arcs as much as I disliked his pre- HOM stuff over the past year. End of Grey's and Wand'ring Star were actually pretty well told and has set up Brubaker nicely to have real showdown with the Shi'ar. If Vulcan goes after the Shi'ar for whatever they did to him it'll be interesting to see if Marvel Girl tries to stop or help him.

I don't think either Austen or Milligan handled Polaris and Havok well. I'm hoping they get a little bit of personality back, especially now that we won't have the Lorna-Bobby-Alex love triangle.

I'm really looking forward to this. I like space adventures and Tan's artwork looks awesome. Much better than Bachalo for sure. And I like the line-up here much better than X-Men...namely because of Mystique and Sabretooth and Cable becoming part of that team. I like all those characters but they seem misplaced. But I would like to see Bishop on the Uncanny team, since he does have some sort of relationship with Warbird doesn't he? I hope his absence from all X-teams is explained.

those who forget the past are destined to repeat it...the Havok-Polaris-Iceman thing was started and finished during the original team run before Claremont and the International team joined

I officially made that cover my desktop.
Anyone notice how the X-force gang is getting play, now Cannonball and Warbird are on main X-teams now.
I thinking Vulcan is going to join the good guys

Warpath. Not Warbird.

Not a bad line up - and for a change, a good mix of powers. Got a psychic and TK, a traveller and stealth, energy projector, powerhouse, and Lorna is a little of both an energy projector and a variation on TK in terms of using surrounding materials and objects for offensive and defensive purposes.

Yeah. This team line-up definitely blows away the Adjectiveless team in terms of making sense, utility, and coolness.

Is it me or does Vulcan (that's the guy with the blade and mask right, haven't read DG) come off as being just to Nightwing-ish (Jason Todd version)?

That's not Vulcan. That's Warpath.

I think I'm gonna add Uncanny to my pull list....can't wait for Bru's run.

What exactly are Kid Vulcan's powers? I have been reading Deadly Genesis and it looks like his powers are similar to Legion or even Phoenix. Is he a telepath-teke-pyrotic? It just doesnt look clear to me what they are.

Agrees with KingOfDreams, that cover is very trading card-ish. Looks pretty good though. It's getting me more hyped up for the story now.
