I have a hard enough time believing that Maroni would get in the car and not notice Harvey right away. Now you're telling me he got in and didn't look to his left until several minutes later? Or that he got in, someone got in next to him after a little bit, and he again didn't look at the person?

C'mon now, think things through.

I wouldn't say several minutes later, but it's easy enough to believe you can get into your car with your friends and not necessarily look right at them as it happens. Maroni, the driver and one of his goons all were getting into the car...as they no doubt did on a regular basis. It happens Dent yanks the goon (I assume knocks him out), takes his place in the car and Maroni doesn't really notice, at first.

I figure they only just started driving when Maroni finally realized it was Dent.

Do you know mob bosses that are chummy. Maroni probably knew the number of men that was going w/ him...he probably felt no need to talk, or even look at his little henchman... until he gave him an order... which is what he did when he looked at dent. So BLUH!

- Loeb
- cops Harvey and Dent
- fake Batman

but then he talks to that other cop and the cop says he (Joker) killed six of his friends ... who?

I think the six the detective was talking about were mostly from the car chase, weren't they?

You had the cop standing on the sidewalk, the ones in the patrol car that he hit with an RPG and then the helicopter. The ones in the car may have survived but I'm pretty sure helicopter bursting into flames and crashing into armored car and getting shot in the face at close range with a shotgun are lethal.


Were Harvey and Dent cops?

it does happen from time to time. in blade runner, the police chief mentions to deckard the 6 replicants he needs to hunt down. but in the film there are only five. some people chalk this extra replicant up to the allusions of deckard being a replicant himself. but the truth is, there was originally a 6th replicant who was either cut out of the final draft or the final cut of the film (i forget which). but these things do slip by. either way, in regards to TDK, i wouldnt be surprised if lots of stuff was cut out that explains this. the third act of the film had a lot crammed in, too much in my opinion, but....either way, with how the cut of the film turned out, that line shoulda been changed or cut.

I thought of BLADERUNNER as well. Nolan's a big fan of it, so maybe this was an unconscious homage?

. Harvey says Ramírez will live to fight another day, and punches her. Even with the coin landing on the non-scarred side, i think the punch killed her. After all, she was the only other cop envolved in Two-Face's fall. Maybe se broke her neck or hit the head.

. Maroni's wife. Harvey arks Maroni, before killing him and the driver, how would he feel if he lost his wife. I Think that, by that moment, Harvey had alredy killed her in revenge for Maroni had helped kill Rachel, that was his wife. The only problem is that Maroni simply didn't care for his wife.

I think it's safe to assume that these were murders that happened off screen due to time limitations. Two-Face's punch killing Ramirez is rather silly, as is the idea of killing Maroni's wife. Because the only way Maroni's wife would be good to him dead is if Maroni was still alive to witness her suffering, and it's a pretty safe bet that Maroni's as dead as a doornail.
