609 days away :csad:.

What a great release date. Nolan is a genius.

Seeing it has Two-face in it should of been 02/02/2002 :)

Where's my time machine?

I wish it was 07. Nolan should have pulled a Raimi and filmed The Dark Knight right after Begins... but, hmm... If I were Nolan, I probabally wouldn't want to do that. One after another... ugh.

Anyway, when the time comes... it will be great... we will probally get a teaser in 168 days though!

It would be nice if they filmed TDK & B3 back to back then we would only have to wait a year for B3.

I guess B3 would be out in 2011? I'll be an old man by then :(

Finally...I was getting worried WB would have to release this film next to another big summer flick if they didn't stick to a date soon.

Let's hope WB stays on this date, and not release it 2 days earlier like before. I wanna see how well this film does with the audience on a regular summer weekend release.

1) It's the only big movie scheduled for July at the moment.
2) Releasing it in June would've put it up against The Incredible Hulk.

Pssst.

Batman + Joker > any hulk movie.

And the general public would prolly side with me too.

It really should be released in june.

WB are naive if they think TDK will remain the only major tentpole flick coming out in July

Regardless, there would have been people that would rather see The Hulk. That's potential money lost.

BTW Anjow, you may want to reconsider the avatar :csad:.

Maybe, but in the very least...they got to July first. So with any luck, the only probable competition would be whatever is released over the July 4th weekend. And even then, TDK comes 2 weeks after it.

They probably could have chosen June, but Hulk has got the spot where most summer releases are (in the last week), so I think it's "Safer" to release it where so far there is no real threat.

Shame this'll break the streak of Batman movies being released in June, but that's an obviously petty concern.

Expect it to be moved to the Wednesday

Eh...needless move imo. Doesn't really do much, plus it makes your weekend box office even lower.

Eight days before my birthday too. Squeeh.

But they really couldve released it june 13th, two weeks before hulk. and honestly, at this point, i dont see hulk doing that well at the BO.

If they want a july release though, they should definetely release it july 4th.

Yeah, but then again, this movie might be a break from traditional bat flicks in many ways...

Perhaps WB didn't want a repeat of Superman Returns? I thought it underperformed on the July 4th weekend. Besides, TDK doesn't sound particular kid friendly to me, despite it's rating.

Idk, my guess is they still didn't want Hulk taking any of their potential viewers. However good/bad Hulk will eventually be, TDK is better off releasing after imo.

Probably the only reason they left it is because of it being too close to Hulk, or they figured another big blockbuster would be determined to take that day as well.

Middle of July is fine, there aren't too many films released in mid-late July, are there?

this is good. the more week days in july, the better. but i will say this is an enormous surprise.
