Sci-Fi Fringe Thread - Part 2

WOULDNT MIND A FEW DTV MOVIES. THEY MADE A COUPLE FOR THE STARGATE SERIES TO WRAP UP STORYLINES AND THEY WERE PRETTY DECENT.

not looking good for a final season. looks like we are going to have to love these final 3 hours of tv.

I've seen nothing to indicate it not looking good.

There is no evidence pointing one way or the other at the moment, and recent evidence is pointing favorably contrary to your statement. Unless you have some new info we do not?

guy who knows a guy...who is very reputable is saying WB and FOX are having issues on money. Fox wants to air a 5th season. WB wants syndication rights and only syfy will be willing to pick them up.

its about money and WB wants it.

but i trust the source, hasnt steered me wrong yet and is usually correct. but believe me, as a fan of the show i want a final true season.

I recall reading that either Jackson or John Noble said that [blackout]David Robert Jones plays a smaller role in the events of the finale than one would assume he would.[/blackout] Makes me wonder if [blackout]the Jones plot is resolved fairly quickly (perhaps by the Observers) before the Observers make themselves known to the world. Then the potential season five could be a split narrative between the building of the resistance in the present, right up until they amber themselves, and then the 2036 resistance, right after Walter, Peter and Astrid have been removed from the amber.[/blackout]

[blackout]But then there would be no Olivia in Season 5. Unless somehow the future warns the past about what happens to Olivia[/blackout]

WELL, WE DONT KNOW FOR SURE THE THING BELL DID TO OLIVIA WAS KILL HER LOL. KNOWING THIS SHOW IT COULD BE ANYTHING.

I have a feeling that like the normal verse and alt verse meeting each other we'll see the future selves and present selves meet in season 5.

Although with just 13 rumored episodes that's pretty tight.

Not necessarily. She supposedly dies in 2016. There could still be quite a bit of story to tell until they get to that point.

yeah, but i was walking out of my house as i was writing it so kinda rushed.

when it comes to this stuff very rarely wrong. perks of someone who works at one of the companies fighting for a season 5.

But they will only get 13 episodes to tell that story. So unless some major changes happen. Or they time jump a bit. I don't see how they can tell the defeat of The Observers with Olivia involved. Unless that part changes some how

Just to be clear, are you suggesting they pull a Lost? Season 5 is set in 2036 and they flash back periodically to events leading to 2036? That could work well.

Shouldn't have opened with that line. You know how many times those words have preceded total BS on this forum? A lot. Not that you are a liar. I don't know, but forgive me if I don't take your word.:)

Essentially, yeah. Basically do what the show's been already doing with the two universes, but this time, do it with two time periods.

And I'm very curious to see the events surrounding Olivia's "death". I have a hard time believing Bell would intentionally bring harm to Olivia, so I wonder if there's more to it than that. I also have to wonder if they've found some sort of agreement with Nimoy to come back. That was a pretty big tease, I can't imagine they'd drop something like that on us without the intention to pay it off.

Gotcha. Yeah, I'm curious about all that, too. The only way I think Bell would harm her intentionally would be if the universe depended on it, and Olivia was willing to sacrifice herself.

Oh, and I loved the restored Walter of this episode. When he got the missing pieces of his brain back he became a man not to be ****ed with. That antimatter bomb was badass! Oh, and when he said, "Billy and I never left ourselves with only one way out of a room." All I could think of was that he could royally **** someone up inside Massive Dynamic because he built that place. God knows what secrets and ways of killing people there must be in that place. I honestly believe Walter is going to be a nightmare for the Observers, and it makes me excited to think what new hells he could unleash on them now that he has his whole brain.

I like the idea of the two time periods fighting each other. Sort of reminds me of the temporal war in Enterprise.

The Fringe writers could do a lot of mind-bending stuff with that.

I'm thinking that Olivia was sacrificed for one of their plans. The others were against it but maybe Bell was the only one willing to sacrifice Olivia.

I'm a bit sad for future Walter. With his brain restored he's become the person he didnt want to be

He's become the evil walternate we first saw in season 3 who still had his whole brain intact
and locked Olivia up.

I wonder if they'll ever answer what's up with Belly's hand

Not necessarily. He could be just a tad hardened from what he saw in 2015.

They didn't really "replace" the cells that were taken out. They used his taken-out brain cells to stimulate regeneration of his brain cells that degraded.

BELLY, NOT BILLY

-DOOM :doom:

Billy is short for William which is his name. Belly just sounds stupid. I'll check the subtitles on previous season to confirm what Walter calls him just to be sure.

Walter does indeed call William Bell ''Belly''

would be a neat twist if david robert jones is actually preparing for the observer take over and is creating weapons to stop them.
