Sci-Fi Fringe Thread - Part 2

i've been wondering, did the observers take over the alt universe as well?

can't wait to see how this final season turns out

Give. John Noble. His. Emmy. NOW.

He already has an Emmy. He got it when he went to the alternate universe. You know...the one where people actually have good taste in shows and Reality TV never existed.

I guess there goes any hope for [blackout]another Cusick appearance[/blackout]. :csad:

Good one tonight. Only thing that struck me as odd was Walter never told them where the first video was at the end of the tape

Amazing episode. This whole future thing feels so fresh, TV is fresh again! We need more unique shows like Fringe, yet nobody watches this brilliant show wtf.

I bet years from now when this show goes on syndication it will become a hit with the general audience and people are gonna be pissed it's gone.

Etta is one tough as_ chick!

And Walter: Yahtzee! . . . Criterion collection, forgive me . . .

I'll miss our beloved world/s from the first 4 seasons, but I'm now ready to treat this season like some sort of epilogue for the series.
It's still a great science fiction show.

So far im not sold on this season. Im not a big fan of fetch quest stories and it feels so disconnected from the last episode of last season.

The casting people did a good job with Georgina Haig. She really looks like she could be their daughter.

She looks like she could be Torv's younger clone. They've even got a similar voice. Which is funny, because they're both Australian playing American.

Is it just me, or Anna Torv is starting to look hotter as she ages?

But with Joshua Jackson eyes.

Gorgina has really sad eyes. She was great in the last episode. I'm glad she was right about the prisoner lying to Olivia.

I also like the whole underground resistance theme. It reminds of the old V show from the 80s.

Could someone refresh my memory as to why the Observers are out of destroy or enslave humanity? I can't seem to remember.

Also, what was up with the experiments at Harvard. Were they making more Observers from humans?

I'm loving Etta as a character and the way she's relating to her parents and grandfather. but im not sure if I'm digging the whole observers as dictators. They seem so much like Nazi's. When they were this abstract alien scientific force it was something different and unique. Now they're a generic evil empire. I was hoping for something a little more original

Also if they are our future evolution wouldn't screwing around with out present (their past) wipe them out. It makes me think of the Doctor Who episode where were the master hotwired the tardis so that the future evolution of humanity could destroy modern earth. The observers dont seem to have a tardis do they?

The Observers are from one possible future of earths. Another universe/reality. Its a part of modern theoretical physics. Basically by traveling back to the past they have entered into a new universe/reality. So if they change anything it will effect the future of the reality they are in but not the future reality they are from. They can never return to their original universe/reality and neither can they effect that universe/reality.

Ya from what I understand the observers messed up the timeline too much and they decided to just take over since they didn't see the future they wanted anymore

so I wonder how many tapes there are? (is it gonna be like when they had to find the parts for the doomsday machine in season 3?, basically one part per episode?)

Jasika Nicole is so stunning, a shame she is lesbian.

In other news love the whole episode. Me and my dad cracked up when that little guy was using Olivia as a goddamn table and dropped his food on her lmfao

whoa whoa,,she a lesbian....nooo not fair:cmad:

Etta has fitted in well and the actress is mimicking Torv's speech patterns really well. So far the season is a bit abrupt in that it's so different to the previous 4, it feels like the creators are throwing out their fantasy pitch because they know ratings wont matter as it's the final series.

This IS the best season of Fringe ever...and possibly one of the best series on TV. Loving this final season.

I considered that as far as an explanation goes but fringe has shown stable time loops existing before (the episode The Firefly). Usualy Sci-Fi chooses either to have the scenario you described or history is immutable as a rule and everything is one stable look.
but i supposed i shouldnt think too hard about time travel you can never get a real working model in fiction untill someone invents a flux capacitor in real life
(Ps my review of In Absentia is up)

well that was a boring episode.......... did they convince a dad of one to kill himself?
