Apocalypse Gambit in the Apocalypse Movie

When I say that Cyclops will be the leader what I mean is of the new team.

Yes, Professor X will be in a teaching/mentor roll, but it's very unlikely that he'll be out there in the field, going up against Apocalypse and his Horsemen. Maybe he'll be in the jet trying to breakthrough to wake Wolverine out of it, but I just can't see him being a field leader.

Beast would be a likely candidate to still be in the field, and even a leader of sorts with his age and experience, but this isn't about Beast being a field leader. Will he be in the field fighting? Hard to say. If I was writing I would find a way to take Beast out of the picture as far as the fight in the field against Apocalypse and the Horsemen. He'd either have to stay with Professor X and protect him, or have some equipment issue that only he could deal with, been captured and turned into a Horseman or captured to be turned into the Dark Beast to be used for a future movie. The point is that they need to put the X-kids into the field and show the field leader, which as inexperienced as we know he'll be, is Cyclops.

So how can this be believeable? How can the audience be cinvinced that a 16 year old Cyclops will be able to be the field leader and defeat Apocalypse? That's a very fair question. First, we'll need to see that he is being trained to be the field leader. That he is put into that position during the training sessions. That Professor X has selected him very specifically for this role. The good side of this is that Cyclops will get what he's always been missing, but it needs to be done very carefully in order to be believeable.

One thing I could see being done is that all of the teams will be brought together in order to defeat Apocalypse. Cyclops may very well be leading the team of X-kids and maybe they are able to take out a Horseman. I could see Mystique and her Brotherhood taking out another and maybe Magneto the third. And if Professor X is able to stop Wolverine and get him to "wake up" then we would have a huge group going up against Apocalypse all at once. If done in this way Cyclops would have been a "leader", but only of Storm, Jean, maybe Nightcralwer, maybe Gambit, and maybe Quicksilver; but during the final attack on Apocalypse it would likely be Professor X mentally coordinating the attack.

My take is that Xavier should become a horseman after losing a battle with apocalypse in the astral plane.I want to see him turned into onslaught but in my version his armor is made of telekinetic energy. Magneto will then lead the x-kids despite tensions between them.

How many Avengers are in AoU? 9?

Theres currently

Prof X
Beast
Cyclops
Marvel Girl
Storm

Wolverine most likely a villian in this movie for the majority of the film or swap out another X-Man for the Death role. This is Singer's 4th X-Film and its suppose to be epic so we need more X-Men they dont require much explanation. Prof. X and Beast traveled the globe looking for Wolverine and recruited the other X-Men in the decade since we last saw them.

I was hoping DOFP was the last we'd see of Quicksilver, as even though his show off scene was excellent, his inclusion in future films would create a lot of problems (he can solve everything).

Umm not really, that didn't happen in the cartoons so surely, the writers of the films could come up a way to defeat him. He's not invincible.

Jean and Professor Xavier could neutralize Quicksilver fairly easily, if written right.

I'm just really not a fan of the hair. And outfit.

I know they will change it but it took them 4 films to finally get Halle's hair right. I'd rather not take that chance again with Quicksilver. With how many other mutants they have yet to introduce, I'm sure Singer can do wonders with other mutants what he's done for Quicksilver's powers. He's already done it with Kurt and now Pietro. Have him give a go to introducing other cool new supporting characters.

His outfit in DOFP wasn't supposed to be a "superhero outfit" or an outfit to be used in a battle. Its a casual clothing of a quirky kid in 1973. Its the same thing with the hair. He moves fast and he probably doesn't fix his hair.

It's not about having nice, well-kept hair. It's about having believable-looking hair.

Anyways, he didn't really need the motorcycle jacket, he should have just gone with the t-shirt that he was wearing. Or the white/blue baseball-looking shirt from the concept art.

I think they should just go with it and dress him even worse in this one
Just to troll the internet.

Believable-looking hair?

It was the 70s and I'm pretty sure a lot of guys in the 70s had that messy hair, the only unbelievable thing about his hair is the color but he's a mutant so thats explain the silver-gray hair.

^ I agree that in this movie-verse Quicksilver is over-powered.

It actually bothered me that they were going to go try to stop Mystique from shooting someone, had a guy who can run faster than bullets, and decided not to take him?????????????????????????????????????????

Anyway, my concept is this...

Start with Quicksilver as part of the small group of X-Men. The reason? Well, people want to see him in action. Have him as part of the Danger Room scene, with maybe Cyclops and Jean, and put him in a position where his arrogance or possibly defiance (I can imagine he wouldn't like taking orders from Scott) puts him, and possibly the team, at risk. Show a situation where he can't easily win. I created a Danger Room sequence in the Savage Land (Jungle) where donosaurs attack them and Quicksilver easily deals with the first threat, but then gets taken from his feet, causing his abilities to be nuetralized.

Anyway, once they go and find Nightcrawler and then Ororo/Gambit (in Egypt), they end up being visited/confronted by Erik, who drops the "I'm your father" bomb and talks to/invites them to be part of the free society he is creating (either Genosha or Asteroid M/Avalon). This leads to Quicksilver leaving with Erik, so he's removed from the X-Men team, effectively being replaced by Kurt (in a way).

It gives the GA what they want (to see Quicksilver back in action), adds to Magneto's (and Quicksilver's) character development, and deals with him being over powered (he leaves with daddy)...

The problem with that argument is that the mission was NEVER to "stop" Raven physically.

Agreed.

As has already been confirmed by Singer, Kinberg et al who's to say that if Quicksilver stops Mystique now (using his super-heightened powers) that Mystique won't try to assassinate Trask again at a later time? There's a reason why Xavier didn't try to "shut her down." He needed to reach her humanity, for want of a better word.

About the father/son revelation, I bet Peter/Erik already know that they are related by the start of the next film.

IMO a teenage Cyclops did well in X-Men Evo, but we have to keep in mind 10 yrs has passed, for all we know, Scott and Jean (hopefully) Storm are all ready recruited, training, the only newcomer for intents and purposes might be Gambit. I don't expect to see how Xavier recruited them since that would be rehash of 'First Class', however it would be cool to see Storm being recruited in Africa and adjusting to American life. I expect to see his relationships with them explored. This movie has a lot to tell mainly w/Apocalypse's origin, I would like Beast to be more like Kelsey's version.

Hopefully we can see the start of Scott/Jeans relationship, Jean/Storm's sister like friendship, Scott doubting himself as field leader, Xavier teaching Jean to harness her telepathy/telekinesis which leads to subtle hints at Phoenix(not dark) to show how powerful Jean is, the Mutant Registration Act, Gambit as a double agent working for the Brotherhood or Apocalypse(switches sides in act 3) and I like the idea of Xavier as horseman of Death after being captured by Apocalypse leading to the team going up against him, Jean vs Xavier psi battle would be sick!!!!!!!!

Unsure Cyke?
No way no thnx.
I'd rather he take the lead head on and learn from his mistakes.
Unsure hero is weak and a disaster against the Xmen greatest threat yet

I would like to see them work (and improve) on the the origins of Scott and Storm that they intended to do in the original X-men film from 2000.

yes indeed I was feeling that picked on child origin they had for Storm back in the early draft of X1. They need to show her in Africa being worshiped as goddess, showing how her powers were seen as a "gift" and how in America mutation is deemed unnatural, etc thus leading to why she was afraid/angry in X1/X2

No.They don't

For starters how she was X-Men and X2 Is now ilrelvent. This Is what happens when you have any kind of "Reboot" now the fact they are planning storm with Cyclops and Jean as first proper "X-Men" says on some things there will be some similartys to Trilogy because In comics Cyclops and jean were part of first X-Men and storm was second generation X-Man.The idea of Storm with Cyclops and Jean as one of first students comes from first X-Men film.

The Idea they will be perfectly like comics is bad inspiration.

If there Is recruiting montage early of Apocalypse there Is no telling if Storm will be worshiped as goddess especilly If Storm's role is more secondary to CYclops and Jean as well as Xavier,Magneto,Mystique, and Apocalypse.

It Is also withen realm of possibilty Cyclops,Jean, and Storm are already students when film begins.

Saying they need to do something Is opening yourself up to disappointment.

Next year after we know who has been cast and more information starts to come out we have better way of speculating what Is going to happen In Apocalypse. We are kind of moving blind for now.

What the

Cyke, Storm and Jean will still be the first proper X-men. X-men Days of Future Past changed nothing in that regard.

What does showing Storm's origin being worshipped in Africa have to do with her being a secondary character. Afterall, plenty other origins of characters in this series have been shown in film yet they were hardly main characters.

It Is also withen realm of possibilty Cyclops,Jean, and Storm are already students when film begins.

Just like it is also withen [sic] realm of possibilty [sic] Cyclops,Jean, and Storm are not yet students when film begins.

Maybe we should all stop posting now.

Thinking there is only way for them to do things or else film will suck is bad assumination.People said around here FC would suck because it didn't have
the first class of comics or Days of future past would suck because it didn't have proper X-Men team In 1973 including as a former user would say no female characters in past besides Mystique.

It's best not to get arguements since noone knows what Bryan Singer and his writers have in mind.

With the "Reboot" In DOFP there really won't be much connection In Apocalypse to X-Men and X2.

Yeah there could be a montage early In Apocalypse similar to FC.But,it's also possable they could already be In training when film opens.Look at FC.Even if you have a recruitment montage there is no gurantee a long drawn out sub-plot involving Storm will be in film.Based on fact jean and cyclops list getting leaked but none for Storm hints Jean may have largest role out of 3 of them.

It's best not to say this is how it has to be In Apocalypse or get into arguements since a lot is unknown especilly since they don't have to take much of the other films into account.

To be honest, since we already saw how Professor X first met Jean/Scott in the previous films... I don't want a rethread or redo of those scenes. So I hope they are already in the school by the start of the film and just drop a small explanation why they got there in the first place.

However, for Ororo.. I would like see them go to Egypt and meet Ororo Monroe there.

I don't recall seeing any backstory on Cyclops, though I def agree with your last sentence I totally agree. I'm hoping this movie verse Storm is from Africa as well.

We saw Professor X rescued Cyclops from Stryker's mutant labs in Origins.

For me, ideally.... like I just want Scott to be at the X-mansion already at the start of the film and maybe namedrop Havok.
