Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 1

They could easily take that huge budget and make an original cast movie with Gambit too. They could take it just from where Days of Future Past ended and no 10 years after. It could be Jackman's final film too.

I would love that! Though I dont know if Fox would really drop this film since filming will start in two to three months and from the people that read the script said its good.

Ryan seems to get extra chances because he's that lovable guy. He's got a great personality and people seem to like him in the business. He's popular amongst males and females. Just like Channing. So I understand why he's still around. He's a joker. It all works in his favor. Taylor lacked a lot of personality and he has very little charisma. Some people are just meant to have that star power and other don't.

I am by no means arguing that Kitsch should be cast as Gambit again. But if you watch his interviews, you'll see that he is actually very personable and charismatic. The difference between Kitsch and Reynolds in that regard is the fact that the latter latches onto famous women and uses that to keep himself in the public eye while the other doesn't date famous women and lives a life outside of the spotlight. Charisma has nothing to do with it.

Coles Notes version: Ryan Reynolds is more famous for who he boinks than he is for his alleged charisma.

So they should make the budget $300 Million?

People are right to question if they think a movie is over budgeted. You have to factor in how much a movie can potentially make at the box office and adjust your budget accordingly.

No one has ever blamed a studio for over-spending.

Besides that, people really liked Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson in that movie. It was one of the few highlights of the film. That was not the case for Kitsch and Gambit.

Are people forgetting Barakapool?

Wouldn't be surprised if Channing Tatum dropped out because Lauren Shuler Donner cast herself as Bella Donna

It's interesting because, unlike Deadpool, Gambit is not happening because the fans desperately want his movie. It's happening because of Tatum.

I don't know if this is delusional, but I want this movie to be cancelled so Fox can focus on other X-projects.

If the budget's already so high, why not put Johnny Depp in? He's practically kick-started the Pirates franchise. He could probably boost a Gambit film. He's from the South. And he's just genius. He might like the character.

Kitsch's Gambit is the best part of Origins... and he had chemsitry with Hugh. Probably more than Reynolds.

And Kitsch being cast wouldnt change the script since its probably done and they already begun casting for supporting roles.

Imo... give Kitsch a second chance. Lower the budget to 75 million... even if it earns like $250 million worldwide... that would not look like a big flop. John Carter and Battleship didnt flop because of Kitsch... the movie didnt just appeal to the masses. Look at Tomorrowland... you have an A list actor for the lead and it flopped.

If the movie is good and Fox markets it well... it would be successful. And also bring back Anna Paquin to play Rogue to tease X-Men 5!

If they were gonna use kitsch they would have done it ages ago rather then only when Tatum came onboard the project, they do not have faith in kitsch and whether that's fair or not that's just the way it is

That crossed my mind but I think it's unrealistic given the timescale. If this movie was due to come out mid 2017, then maybe they could just drop it and focus on something else, but with a script done and filming soon, it's hard to just focus on other things given the current state of plans.

New Mutants can't happen unless Josh Boone drops one of his current projects, there would probably would be scheduling conflicts with most OT actors for a film they may appear in.

Maybe an X-Force movie could be streamlined for 2017 but idk

What makes you think this film is taking the focus from any other X-property and why do you think a large studio like Fox can't focus on more than one property at a time?

I don't think Gambit has anything to do with Fox other plans for the X-franchise as it is said to be mostly standalone from what they have said so far.

Singer is possibly crossing over his X-Men with the FF if that franchise doesn't flop.

New Mutants is a way off yet.

X-Force is probably dead or shelved indefinitely.

There was talk of a X-Men show (possibly X-Factor) being developed but that has gone quiet.

Besides Deadpool and New Mutants Fox doesn't have any concrete plans we know of so Gambit really isn't taking their focus away from anything right now.

Well damn I was looking forward to seeing a Gambit film but seems like at the very least it will be delayed if not dead in the water all together. Tatum was pretty divisive in the first place so was going to be a hard sell to some but was willing to see what he could come up with but its not like he isnt replaceable having not actually ever making it to the screen.

Wait and see what happens next I guess.
