Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 3

I still want to see Tatum as Gambit. He would be so much better in a team movie though.
Or not mentioned the mind swapping at all as that is problematic in and of itself. Betsy is half Japanese and half white. Let's leave it at that.
Agreed 100%

I really like Tatum and I want to see him as Gambit. Hopefully, there will be no more delays!

who's the official writer of this proyect?
it all comes down to this, imo. If the writer is really talented and with a great track record, the process will be easier. But if he's a mediocre writer, troubles will continue, with a lot of producers imput, changes, opinions, rewrites and all

If Tatum is indeed picked for a role in the Dark Universe, seeing a few headlines about that, Gambit may have even more delays.

He's a dream pick for them, like The Rock as the Wolfman. Not Cruise/Depp/Bardem. Doubt it happens.

BTW, watched this fan clip online recently. Not quite the right portrayal for Gambit, imo, but it's kinda cool

Mmmmm... love that Nick Bateman. He looks good as Gambit too. :ilv:

Lol. If only Fox were thinking right and made a Dofp sequel with the ot cast and include Channing in the film, things would look brighter for the X-Men and a Gambit solo film.

But no, that isn't the case. Now Channing and Halle are in another Fox film together when they could have already appeared in a X-Men film portraying Gambit and Storm respectively.

What a mess of a series.

Yet, here you are discussing the series on a daily basis.

If you were expecting them to make a film with the OG cast after DOFP, then you just set yourself up for disappointment. The plan was to always continue with a new, younger cast. There was never any substantial indications that the original cast would get another film. Everyone knew that DOFP was their swan song and the ending was a nice sendoff for the fans.

I am not discussing it in a daily basis, as I haven't posted for weeks. The point is Fox is clueless with the characters that they have. They have no clear path. Gambit was scheduled for 2015 and still nothing? Gambit hasn't been used in a film since 2009. While the plan to move on with younger version clearly backfired at the box office right. Lol. I have the receipts to back that up.

Figure of speech, but the point is you post in the X-men boards a lot. Which is totally fine of course, I totally understand the frustrations and I don't disagree that their path is...askew, I just don't see the point is complaining about it all the time.
A film being pushed back is nothing new and I'd rather they delay production if they are not happy with what they have or if they think they can do better. Tatum's comments were correct when he said Logan and DP have opened doors for their film that otherwise were not opened.
I think them waiting is a good idea. Way better than it being rushed and then we end up with another X3.

I just get the impression that you want them to fail. Which would be counterproductive as there clearly aren't any plans of Fox letting go of the franchise, so I would be hoping for the best.

I think, as beloved and popular as Gambit is, he's known mostly for the 90's cartoon, which was amazing. But most importantly, Gambit is not known as a solo hero as Logan or Deadpool. He doesn't have the same "track" as Wolverine and Deadpool. So although he is a beloved character (like many other X-Men members), I think it came as a surprise for most fans that, from all the properties Fox could be investing, they chose Gambit.

There other X-teams and even "bigger" X-members to focus.

So I think it's not hard to understand the frustrations or huge lack of interest some fans have in a Gambit solo movie when there's so much more in the X-universe. And Gambit is no Wolverine or Wade Wilson.

But if they are doing this movie anyway, they should be going for something as good as Logan and Deadpool.

I, for instance, have zero interest in this movie. I'd rather X-Factor, X-Factor investigation, Brotherhood, Alpha Flight, Exiles, Excalibur, X-23, Storm...

I personally think its ridiculous they're still trying with this despite losing directors and writers while they haven't moved a finger to get a Storm movie made.

Yeah, I forgot to mention: losing directors, writers, actors... it's not a good sign.

And damn, a Storm movie :ilv:

I doubt a storm movie is even in thinking process.

You could make a solo out of most of the X-Men characters, its just a case of whether they have any interest in it.

I would LOOOOOOVE a Storm movie, but I just don't picture that happening, unfortunately.

People involved reshaping properties after the success of Logan and Deadpool is a good thing, imo.

I still don't get why we can't have Gambit in a team movie. Absolutely insane!

It is! Also, I am very surprised Wonder Woman did so well because I didn't like the traielrs. But it was directed by a woman, too. This success could someday inspire Fox to make something like the all-female run "X-Men 1" from 2013. It's not too shabby!

That would be a dream for me, honestly. What an amazing film that would be.

I'm coming around on this for some reason. The fact that it won't die despite all the nerd rage has made Gambit a bit of an under-dog.

A Storm film only seemed to be on the radar for a second while Halle Berry was pushing loudly for it. I've never got the impression that anyone but her ever cared about the character.

Hopefully after Wonder Woman and most likely X-23 getting her own film, someone will be down to make a Storm one. Fox seems more open when someone comes and pitches them and takes charge, be it an actor or a director, so all we need is the right combination of people to get the ball rolling. (I keep hoping that the writers of Atlanta, whom already work for Fox or the directors of Queen Sugar come to Fox and pitch them or something. Doesn't even have to be Storm tbh)

I don't want them to just announce a bunch of random projects as "in development" like WB does with DC, so if they don't have anything even remotely noteworthy, then don't mention it as being in development. No need to put the cart before the horse anymore than they already do sometimes. Offhand mentions will do.

Ava DuVernay for a Storm film? Yes, please.

Gambit may not be known as a solo hero but he does make sense as one. He's an adventurous, morally-ambiguous yet ultimately heroic cat-burglar with superpowers. I don't even like Gambit but I have to admit that is a solid concept. That's a character you can build a movie around.

Burn!:o

Wasn't trying to be rude, but I just don't understand people who clearly dislike something, but can't seem to stop talking about it. And people who have unrealistic expectations. And yes, another film with the original cast that have all basically said they're done, IS unrealistic.
