Really? Did they have a film that got a rotten rating. And we shouldn't talk about your person opinion as it has no bearing in public consensus.

Dude, I don't care about public consensus. It doesn't make a movie better or worse for me. What I care about is the movies themselves. And for me Thor: The Dark World is a weak movie, and their recent Doctor Strange is pretty bland and forgettable. This whole brand fidelity thing going on is simply stupid. The key to a great movie is having a talented creative team/filmmaker involved, an interesting and clear vision, and a studio which allows said people to execute said vision without dumbing it down.

Gore Verbinski directing a comic book adaptation is, in my opinion, something to be excited about (unless you hate his movies), and it doesn't matter whether he's working at Marvel Studios or at Twentieth Century Fox.

A studio exec's job is to put the right pieces in place and greenlight the right projects, with the right talent attached. Fox, Marvel, Disney, Warner Bros., Alcon, Lionsgate... it all doesn't matter when you've got those right pieces in place.

Alcon produced a dumb and unnecessary Point Break remake, but also Blade Runner 2049, which is in my opinion one of the finest sequels ever made.

And whatever you can say about about Twentieth Century Fox, they've already proven many people wrong with Deadpool and Logan (and other movies, not related to comic books), so there's no reason to point at this as a trainwreck in the making just because the movie will be preceded by the Fox fanfare.

preach:ilv:

fox in past year has produced 2 films with high rt shows and 2 tv shows with postive scroes

i dislike spider-man homecoming homecoming,iron man 3,and thor 2 just as i do spider-man 3,X-men the last stand,and Origins.i care what i think.yes as x-men and spider-man fan i have those 2 x films and sp3 in dvd collection.which i only watch when i do viewing of all x films.same with spider-man 3.when i do mcu marathon i still refuse to rewatch iron man 3 and thor 2.

now idea of director of original pirates of the caribean tirlogy-or as i call them the good ones in series:cwink: doing x-men related film should be good news.Channing tatum has passion for gambit.while i knew him from animatged show and not comics that still gets my respect.but again 1990's version was good to get new people into X-men while i feel comics had more depth to them.

X-men,MS,and dc can all co-exsist but it's hard to when some are like 24/7 just screw fox and wanting for their films to fail or saying film will be terrable before seeing anything.i have no idea how the fox films of 2018 will be.
my intrest in Avengers:Infinity war is due to liking charaters like steve rogers and black widow.after i see justice lague and trailers i can make decsion on
Aquaman.this year has proven to me trust my gut on films based on trailers.

i went ot theaters 3 times in 2018

You know what, I would feel like a lot better if Gore's most recent film with Fox did well but it didn't. But thanks your sharing your personal opinion again.

Just remember, you're the first one to bring up Marvel Studios here, not me. So if you're tired of studio comparisons, you should read your comments first before posting.

Because I know the same ol' song and dance on these message boards by now.

And what does Gore's most recent movie with Fox not doing well have to do with his talent or him possibly directing Gambit? You could use some personal opinion, man. :cwink:

you missed atomic blonde!! I only watched Logan and that one in 2017 :p
for now of course, but I'm surprised there are others who don't visit the cinemas very often. personally, i have a bit of a limited attention span and need for a pottybreak. If i watch something, it's gotta be worth it for me... i.e. well-rated on RT. :funny:

Because he directed his last recent Fox film that didnt do so well to the public which is a reflection of his directorial skills.:loco: logic, man.:cwink:

And I know your same Old song and dance in your posts, "Fox is superior. Anything that differs from my opinion is wrong".

And Marvel Studios' track record is as inconsistent as any other studio's.

It's rare you see someone be so wrong.... soak it in.

I know yours is everything Fox does is wrong all hail Marvel attitude too but no need to point it out.

Thats a lie. did you see my posts towards Marvel TV projects like Inhumans and the current comics? Obviously not. I didn't even hail Homecoming as the best Spider-Man film as I find it as overrated as Logan.

Obviously, there's a wrong mind set here, if you don't like Fox, you are Disney fanboy. Vise versa. You are the best example of that wrong mind set.

only on internet would a gambit film likely directed by director of pirates of the caribbean 1-3 be bashed while any MCU or dceu film they are like let's go.

This song and dance Is getting tiring.god thing I am ignoring them so I don't let them sour me from ever again seeing MCU film again If trailers intrests me.

'only on internet would a gambit film likely directed by director of pirates of the caribbean 1-3 be bashed while any MCU or dceu film they are like let's go.'

the bashing has a studio bias. some ppl also bashed david leitch too cause hes going to make DP2 - now knowing he also worked on civil war

So we're supposed to be down with this because he directed Pirates? Like those are cinematic masterpieces or something. Also, i see a lot of people bringing up the "Channing has a passion for Gambit" argument. That's good but passion alone doesn't convince me. I don't like him as an actor, doesn't matter if he wears Gambit pyjama's at night.

Pirates of the Caribbean films aren't even good. Wait until someone bashes me for being anti Fox, oh wait those films came from Disney. Let's not even forget the flop that was The Lone Ranger. If I want a director who directed a blockbuster, It wouldn't be Gore. Sam Raimi, JJ Abrams, Kenneth Branagh, Gary Ross, Jon Favreau, there are plenty of better directors out there.

Hee hee. I agree, :p

I smell a ballsy production coming our way.

Show the mere mortals how CBM's are done.

Finally another release date, this was supposed to come out last year.

Wonder where they're filming this (IF it actually does happen...).
