I still hope this will get made. With Channing Tatum.

i think it wuld be better to cancel the Movie and bring Tatum's Gambit in New Mutants,X Force or Supernova

I disagree. Gambit and his world of thieves are so unique, that it would be worthwile to explore it, rather than have him just be another 'team member' in one of the next movies.

There's always time to have him join the team. Let's delve into the less superheroic part first. It would be much more interesting.

You gotta diversify, and have unique movies built around characters' most unique features (like "Deadpool" did and like it seems like "Logan" does, as well), otherwise we'll end up with 'just superhero movies' which shout 'we're superhero movies,' and that could get boring after a while, if it's done in tons of movies at the same time.

@Drexel It is not. She likes Gambit but we all know Channing Tatum is why they considered doing a Gambit movie in the 1st place.

They were keeping gambit on the shelve for a solo movie even before tatum, Its just he got the ball rolling when he showed interest.

She wanted to do a Gambit movie in 2008. If X-Men: Origins was successful, she said in an interview that they would develop a spin off for Taylor Kitsch's Gambit. It's always been on her radar, but Tatum coming out and explicitly saying what he wants is what prompted her to actually get things going.

While JKR is right about Gambit's world having a unique feel, i still prefer they introduce him as a lone thief in a team movie. His individual relationships with each x-man is more interesting to me. And I'm sorry but Gambit in X-Force would be f-ing awesome!

He would be really cool in X-Force, but what role would he occupy on the team? I personally feel like he should be in X-Men: Supernova, occupying that featured mutant role that seemed to be a thing in the original trilogy (like the featured mutant in #1 was Rogue, in #2 it was Nightcrawler and in #3 it was Angel - in the promotion at least). Although it would be cool to see Gambit's interplay with Deadpool.

I'm from New Orleans and a film listing shows that Gambit will begin filming June 1, 2017 in NOLA. I don't know how accurate these listings are though. I'd post a picture, but I don't know where to upload it.

what role would he occupy in X-men? They could fit him anywhere but I think X-force would be considering he's a darker character with a shady past. I try to picture it but I cant see Tatum as Gambit with the new X-men that were introduced with Apocalypse. The present day X-men? I dont even think Fox knows what to do there. X-force is pretty much a blank slate and a perfect place to introduce new characters like him

What is Supernova? New Mutants? He'd be so out of place there.

I never found his solo material particular interesting. Ive always found the Thieves/Assassin thing to be boring, even when its a plotline in X-men. Gambit is a character that works better as the loner you cant fully trust in a team setting. I think he plays off more established characters very well. Alone as the lead? Thats not the best use of him. I always thought approving this project was a mistake especially since Gambit isnt really relevant anymore. They should use a team title to introduce him and if demand/popularity is there, go forward with a solo outing, not the other way around

I want this to happen. I love this character and I want it to be done right. So I rather them take time developing and getting it right and I think Channing will be great in this.

I'd rather see them include Gambit in a present day X-Men film.

Gambit the movie bombing at the box office would not go well to the character and to His future role in the series.

Exactly and i don't have the slightest bit of faith in Tatum and Donner. If the movie turns out bad (which is more than possible), they're gonna use this as an excuse to not have him in any film after this.

I'd like to see a Gambit movie.

If Deadpool's thing was absurd humor and profanity, and Logan's is hardcore violence, I could see a Gambit movie closing out the triangle with a film that's all about the sex appeal. Not necessarily rated R, but definitely enough so that it feels unique. Make it super stylish, cast the hottest actors and actresses as the leads. Release it on Valentines Day.

Together with the New Orleans setting, Gambit's past, his moral ambiguity, Mr. Sinister, and potentially a love story with Rogue (a girl Gambit can't sleep with, which perhaps allows Remy to experience a different kind of relationship for the first time), I think there's something there.

Maybe the end the film with Rogue causing Gambit to turn over a new leaf, and they head to the X-Mansion to start over. Have the following X-Men film follow up on the Sinister story, this time looping in Scott's past as well, and potentially a clone of Jean (assuming she might die as Dark Phoenix in Supernova)

They probably will want to make 3 gambit movies so this is probably not being done as a one off so he can join the X-Men after the first movie, well unless they can squeeze one in between gambit 1 and 2

Kinberg talks abit about Gambit

"It's in active development," Kinberg said. "It's a movie that we hope will be ready to go by the end of this year and shoot next year. We have two or three X-Men related movies this year so it can wait for a moment. The process has been that Channing [Tatum] is as determined about getting the character right as Ryan Reynolds was about Deadpool and Hugh [Jackman] was about this Logan movie. We know that when we get those right, the movie succeeds so we want to make sure we get Gambit right because we want him to be the beginning of a whole new franchise."

Beat me to it. That's slightly unexpected. I hope they took off at least 30% or so from the budget though cuz that was ridiculous. I will believe it when I see it though. :woot:

X-Force, New Mutant's, Deadpool, Gambit, maybe Alpha Flight? I never thought we'd get more than Wolverine & His X-MEN movies ever.

Get it done Kinberg!

From the writer of Fantastic Four and X-Men Apocalypse.

Take the backseat, Mr. Kinberg.

Gambit should be with the X-Men in the main timeline and played by someone less well known so they don't hog the screen time.

The solo movie is only happening because Channing Tatum had a good 2013/14 and he gained the buzz to get a movie off the ground (his box office clout as since declined).

Numerous directors passing & dropping out isn't a good sign.

The solo is moving forward because of tatum but it was always something they wanted to do even before tatum.

I'd prefer he start in a solo origin movie or we'll have to get yet another prequel later on to fill in the background. Let's start at the beginning and move forward.

I'm sure he'll end up in an X-Men or X-Force film eventually.
