I don't know why it's so hard for them to just put the character in an X-Men movie. This whole he needs a solo movie introduction is bizarre and nonsense because he's not a solo character originally so no he doesn't need a solo movie. If Channing Tatum doesn't want to share the screen in a team movie, then get another actor.
It absolutely would help a solo film. And yes I know that Gambit was in X-Men Origins but that was just a little Cameo with a different actor, they need to establish the character again.Agreed. Him showing up in a team movie first would also help the solo movie.
i think its safe to say this movie is dead.

I'd love that. They may as well just introduce him in the next X-Men movie now. It makes much more sense.
He is a fav but not that high up, thats a reach. There a plenty of more popular ones ahead of him. The best thing is to just introduce him in the next movie towards the end as a set up for the next one. I just dont think Fox has what it takes to make Gambit pop in a solo movies the way say Dr Strange has.I think they pushed a solo for him because they know he has a big following. I would say he maybe the 2nd favorite behind Wolverine.
The solo clearly won't happen so they need to just throw him on the team in this new one.
it's simply amazing that in the nearly 20 years of X films, Gambit has never been in any of the main X films and only showed up, in all places, in a Wolverine origin film.
for such a popular character, it is definitely a head scratcher.
all the more reason why I feel the Singer X universe has long run its course and it's time for a proper reboot of the whole X franchise.

“I'm all about the script, and I just wasn't feeling it,” he confessed.
“I've gotta connect to the script. On Bourne Identity, Matt Damon was always referring to himself as a 'script ****e,' and I'm with Matt on that. It's like, you feel the script, that's everything. We make movies because we want to tell great stories. The Wall started with a contest Amazon ran, and Dwain's script rose to the top, and then it got handed to me.”
I am so glad Channing is (most likely) not getting the chance to ruin my favorite xman. This movie was a bad idea from the very start.
Maybe after the reboot!
so we won't see gambit for years and years then.
they aren't rebooting anytime soon.
i still find it funny people will be like marveldisney or dc can do any film based on characters they want but damn fox for doing gambit as film.
At least Gambit was being planned for a while, DC is throwing crap at the wall and hoping it stick and Marvel banished Inhumans to television for a slow death.
