Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 4

One of those hasn't turned out yet. That being said, I'd like to see some sources for some of those.

Wolverine Origins had a great Gambit and Sabretooth.

Lol, I love how everyone ignored the whole sentence and see "just a fan":yay:

Someone forgot X3...

Which ones do you want sources for?

The Oscar Isaac one. Although I don't think he was the problem with the character (and that, even if they nailed the character, there would still be problems with the movie).

Why does Channing Tatum deserve to play Gambit?

Because, as Ryan Reynolds has proven with Deadpool, having an actor/producer on board with a clear affection for a character could lead to something very special.

I have no doubts that if he gets the chance to play Gambit, he'll knock it out of the park.

You are right!:yay:

If only this movie can finally start filming, but that isn't happening. So whatever happened to multiple directors that Fox approached recently?

Being a fan isn't enough. His passion isn't even enough to get someone direct this and fully commit.

Agreed! Passion is definitely good but i just don't think he can exude Gambit like RR does Deadpool and the fact that this movie hasn't gotten off the ground yet is telling. Granted this is not necessarily his fault but it doesn't bode well.

Xpecially with the Disney deal.
There were a million cooks in the kitchen in X3. I don't even have any faith in Kinberg and probably won't even watch the movie, but I don't think he's the main person to blame for The Last Stand.

He still wrote the dialogue, and if X3 isn't enough, just watch the other films that he co wrote or wrote by himself.

dont tell anyone, but all of them are writing their own script, and once they are finished, Tatum and Kinberg will choose the best one, and Kinberg will do the final draft

:bamf:
:funny: :funny: :funny:

Hahahaha me too. Kinberg writing the Gambit script is pretty much the final nail in the coffin.

Well, it took Ryan Reynolds some time to get the green light.

And Deadpool 1 didn't lose three directors. Not eXactly comparable.

Actually, Robert Rodriguez was offered Deadpool and ultimately passed, and Adam Berg was also up for the gig at one point, before Tim Miller signed on and finally stayed on board.

I'm not saying that Gambit will definitely happen. I never believe a project will happen until they're on set. But it's not dead or beyond saving, either.

Deadpool was in the exact same situation. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were brought on board in late 2009 (!), and their script leaked in 2010. After that it was an neverending wait, with Ryan Reynolds repeating over and over that he'd like to make it happen, and that sometimes things were moving, and sometimes they were not.

I had honestly given up hope, until THIS HAPPENED... and trust me, at that point no one would've bet a penny on the movie being made.

And I'm glad it took them so long to get a green light. Maybe another director wouldn't have knocked it out of the park like Tim Miller did... maybe had it happened years earlier they would've had to compromise their vision and make it PG-13.

It was a LOOOOOONG wait, but man, was it worth it!

And frankly, the movie exceeded all expectations. The final product turned out to be even better than the leaked script from 2010, and unproven feature film director Tim Miller (who I was frankly a bit worried about, considering that there was no proof that he could handle a feature lenght narrative and the direction of the actors) turned out to be one of the most promising talents around, and I can't wait for his take on The Terminator.

Some of the most memorable movies took a long time and hundreds of setbacks to finally get made.

For a second, I thought you were being serious.

at this point in the franchise, humour and irony is the only thing left to handle the sad situation lol

but it will all change drastically in some years :ilv::ilv::ilv:

What the hell are you talking about? The franchise is alive and well, and in better shape than it has ever been.

They knocked it out of the park with X-Men: Days of Future Past, Deadpool, Logan and Deadpool 2. X-Men: Apocalypse was somewhat disappointing, but definitely not as people make it out to be.

Disney probably already acquired FoX before that happens. So lol. Kinberg should enjoy his last X-Men script with Dark PhoeniX.

Because we know Dark PhoeniX and the New Mutants aren't in trouble and people are tired of seeing other characters being wasted. Wolverine movies are done, so its not like we are eXpecting another Wolverine movie in the near future, and James Mangold has already moved on to Boba Fett instead of Laura. At this point, all they have are movies in which Deadpool is in. Solo films for Gambit, Multiple Man, Kitty Pyrde aren't happening as Disney would likely stop those films from going forward once they get the rights. As a fan of this franchise, this is not an eXciting time.

There were a ton of interviews with Isaac before the movie came out where he said he read comics with Apocalypse when he was growing up. For sources, google's right there.

According to Manabyte Deadpool 2 was a total misfire. Well....

And I AM a fan of the franchise, and for me it IS exciting times.
