Choo choo ALL ABOARD THE STONEHEART TRAIN

Maybe they were still working under the impression of seven seasons when they wrote the Dorne plot. They really didn't give any kind of hints as to what Doran's up to. Wheels spinning and going nowhere.

Do you think Lord Commander Thorne will get any blowback from the Warden in the North for supporting the outlaw Stannis and allowing wildlings into the realm?

Which Warden of the North? [blackout]Jon Stargaryen or Roose Bolton[/blackout]?

Lord Bolton, or Ramsay if Roose can't be bothered to ride out.

I really want to open the Wall's scenes this upcoming year already in some kind of low level civil war, with some of the Watch being supported by Wildlings. Since they actually had Hardhome's battle shown in the series, it'd be cool to see the conspirators being resisted by Watchmen who actually have seen the zombie army coming their way.

:wow: Hoist the Northern Banners!

Speak for yourself. A battle between the northern lords should be ****ing awesome!

The one image has been deleted. All that is still up is the zoomed in image of the banners. Whats was the other picture of?

can jon snow overcome Ramsay's army-defeating magic snow ninja strike team?

A wide shot of the group.

I'll enjoy the book version with Stannis, not Jon Snow.

They won't mentioned at all.

Has it been confirmed that Stannis leads any such battle in WOW? If so hopefully he gets his just like in the show, and the battle is lead by Jon. Ya know the actual good guy. Not the SOB who burns innocent people alive.

Book-wise, could you confirm which innocent people you think book-Stannis burns? Because right now, I remember him having an acceptably secular reason for just about every execution by fire, and the current book scenario makes his burning of his own daughter seem an unlikely event, since she's separated by miles of frozen wasteland and the books both embrace the communication issues you'd have with such a scenario (thus him having the time to order her death seems unlikely) and him explicitly prepared to die in battle with her as his successor, with Melissandre far away.

The reason a lot of book readers regard the Season 5 shock moment as bad is because it seems to them that their scenario- Stannis ordering his daughter burnt alive for the Red God's favor then fighting a pointless battle with only his personal forces and being wiped out-seems unlikely and in keeping with the show's creators sloppier handling of more complex plots. A lot of us think the more likely scenario from the books- that Stannis and his combined Northern and Stormlands host go to battle while quite separately Mellisandre and Selysse burn his daughter outside his authority- is both more interesting and a victim of the creators' biases and desire to drag out certain plot points.

So, my fellow book readers, now that one theory seems confirmed, what do you think the book's scenario is for their snow battles? Will Stannis's host be defeated, possibly with his death, but survive enough for reinforcements to arrive from the Wall and win the day? Will Stannis win the battle in the books only to lay siege to a decimated garrison in Winterfell of Bolton men?

He's right next to Winterfell when Winds of Winter will open and he's not outnumbering Roose, he's outsmarting him.

No, Noone here wants it to be like in the show. People do not want to see Ramsay and 20 good men annihilate Stannis' army, have Melisandre abondon Stannis and through a period of hours appear at North like she had a teleporter or something.

Stannis is the most tactical minded people out there and noone has anything on him after Tywin Lannister died.

, and the battle is lead by Jon. Ya know the actual good guy.
What good has Jon done? Last time I checked. Stannis saved the wildlings.

Not the SOB who burns innocent people alive.
Stannis has only burned criminals in the book, and the tv show adaptation is terrible.

I think Stannis will win, but the Northlings might backstab him. I think Littlefinger will propose an alliance with Stannis as well.

I don't see the fuss... its the show... i mean we've been disappointed enough in its adaptation, so we might as well just jump on board and enjoy the ride at this point... Winds of Winter is coming anyway so **** it.

Oh I dont want everything the same as the book just the part of him dying. If a whole army does that to him instead of 20 men then all the better. I just want him destroyed. He deserves that. He's a sadistic bastard with a messiah complex who burns people alive. He isnt a good guy. He is just a SOB and a hypocrite.

And last time I checked Jon saved the Night's Watch and the North from Mance's Army. If not for Jon, by the time Stannis arrived at the Wall, Mance and his Army would have been south of the Wall burning villages and murdering men women and children.

If there is a massive battle in the North in WOW, Jon will probably be the one to rally the North. Book Stannis wasnt rallying them thats for sure.

The show definitely condensed and downsized some things for time, but the essence of what will happen in the book is probably there. In the book, Stannis will prpbably fail to win the North and Jon will rally the North and the North will defeat the Boltons.

This is the kind of stuff I'd expect from a white walker sympathizer. :oldrazz:

Bookwise the burnings I remember were people who'd normally have been executed. And since there's proof that the burnings and blood magic works, it makes sense that you would burn the ones given the death sentence.

He deserves that.

Saving the North means he deserves death?
He's a sadistic bastard with a messiah complex who burns people alive.

In Feudal societies and even in today's society you have death penalties. Jon Snow executed a member of the Night's Watch because of the same laws and codes of honor.
He is just a SOB and a hypocrite.

How?

And last time I checked Jon saved the Night's Watch and the North from Mance's Army.

Does this exchange of dialogue seem like Jon saved the Night's Watch?

If not for Jon, by the time Stannis arrived at the Wall, Mance and his Army would have been south of the Wall burning villages and murdering men women and children.

He would have still squashed them. Infact, the outcome probably would have been for the better as Tormund, Val and Mance Rayder are playing Jon Snow and Stannis in the books.
Book Stannis wasnt rallying them thats for sure.

Stannis has the Mormont, Glover, Cerwyn, Hornwood, and Tallhart houses, he has the Mountain clans and the Umbers and Manderlys will deflect to Stannis' side when they get the chance to betray Boltons.

Stannis will prpbably fail to win the North and Jon will rally the North and the North will defeat the Boltons.

This isn't Tolkien. That's one of the key things people need to remember. This is not Star Wars or Lord of the Rings.

I expect book Jon to come back and lead the wildlings against the Night's Watch, based on the vision of scarecrow brothers and all.

there won't be a nights watch if that wall comes a crumblin'

Marvolo, I like you, I really do, but you're way off the mark with this one. In the books, Stannis rallying all the Northern lords to do battle with the Bolton forces feels much more realistic that the way that they did it in the show, where he just charges into the open with just his own personal forces when he's supposed to be a tactical genius. The thing is, I feel like the Northern lords would be much more likely to rally around Stannis than Jon, since he is of higher birth. And making Jon the savior of the North and Stannis a total *****e dilutes the grey morality that GRRM established for his universe.

Mavolo, I like you, I really do... But you are a ****ing *******! :lmao:
