I must have missed the part where Tyrion stated an intention to "free" the dragons. All I saw in the previews is him down there.... maybe just to check on them?

He's mentioned the dragons being in captivity is a bad idea.

It's obviously just assumption, but I am 99% sure he is going to let them loose this season. And it's just simply time to... We can't keep hearing about the 3 dragons and only really see 1 of them for 7-8 seasons.

Sure they'll have to be freed eventually, but Tyrion is basically supposed to rule in Dany's absence (as a "Hand of the Queen") and maintain order, so how exactly is having uncontrollable dragons (who eat people's livestock and children) being loose in an already chaotic city a good idea?

Fear does funny things to people.

Anyways... what do you think is going to happen? Dany is going to go back to mereen... then spend another season there... let go of the dragons after she magically trains them to be good? Drogon is uncontrollable and hes not really causing much trouble.

Tyrion is wiser than that... or should be. The only instance where I can see him freeing them is to save them - should the Harpies assume control of the city. We've already seen that their hides are vulnerable to spears so they could be slain down there while they're busy eating some goats.

We don't really know what Drogon does in his spare time do we? Maybe he's eaten an entire Kindergarten class on a field trip!

What do I think will happen...hmmm,
I think Drogon will find Dany in the midst of Vaes Dothrak and she will then enlist the impressed and awestruck Dothraki into her army for the eventual invasion of Westeros in Season 7. Her control over Drogon is sketchy and needs work though. And the other two dragons will be controlled through warging, perhaps by Brandon (destined not to walk but "fly") and/or some other characters with the gift.

Of course Tyrion is wiser than that...

D&D aren't wise at all though... you're forgetting who you're dealing with :lmao:

Yeah, that worries me - especially cut loose from GRRM source material now. I can only hope he provided them with enough guidance in their last meetings that they won't completely ruin the endgame.

I have zero faith in them at this point. I watch for the actors, sets/visuals, *titsanddragons*, and the overall epic feel.

D&D's story... and the bad writing... meh. It's become a show to watch for fun now... Just give me Winds already.

Interview with Isaac Hempstead-Wright

No spoilers really but it does hint that we may get that Tower of Joy flashback threw Bran. I guess that's a spoiler lol. It's just me guessing really.

That's pretty damn exciting! This is the storyline I've been anxiously awaiting! And he actually says quite alot without giving away any details.

I have told people that he's like "Frodo with The Ring at Mount Doom" up there, poised to play an instrumental role in taking down the WW's, and this interview confirms it!

You're just reaching now man lol... im not even arguing about this im just saying i can see how easily it can get confused. He sees walkers... then is right outside of winterfell.

though it does show them going beyond the wall... someone who hasn't read the books may not know that.

as for the abandoned castles.. i guess none of the 100,000 wildlings thought to check those out :o

Mance didn't want to just cross the Wall. He wanted to make it safe for the Wildlings to move South. All the Wildlings if they decided to. Not just his 100,000 man army.

Castle Black is the most defensible castle at the Wall, and its been maintained the best which makes it the best castle for Mance to use. It's connected to the King's Road which makes it the most convenient and most safe place for hundreds of thousands of Wildlings to travel south. It's in the middle of the Wall. By taking it Mance wouldn't be leaving the Crows alive at his flank. And it's where most of the Crows are so he can get rid of most of them at the outset so that Wildlings that show up later can travel south more safely. Plus it's guaranteed that Castle Black's tunnel isn't caved in or blocked.

Yea... But again i was just really saying how i can see people being confused about the walkers being south or north of the wall..

Finally watched the episode. What poorly written f***ing bull****. Once again I'm done with this show. This was its one chance to redeem itself.

Myranda gets a f***ing funeral scene with Ramsay all sad and **** but we don't get a single moment in which Davos gets to mourn Shireen or Stannis. Heck, he doesn't even ask Mel "hey are they okay, what happened." Nothing. Let's just forget that Stannis and Shireen existed as soon as possible. Myranda gets a f***ing funeral scene while characters like Doran and Stannis get canned by the showrunners in the lamest ways possible with zero f***s given.

Its laughable how bad this episode was written. Teleporting sand snakes. Dogs which suddenly disappear from the battle, never to be seen again. A psychopath Ramsay who cares about NO ONE taking time to mourn Myranda instead of leading the hunt for Sansa. Daenerys talking her way out of her situation in the most laughably unrealistic way possible. "We don't believe anything you say - wait, did you mention Khal Drogo's name? K we won't hurt you because suddenly everything you said is credible for some reason."

Setting up the ships last season to tease Dany invading Westeros only to rip the ships away in the season premier. Hahahaha.

Literally every scene in this episode was a collossal misfire in which characters acted out of character, important plot points were dropped, and entire storylines got the shaft because the showrunners are too inept or lazy to handle their complexity.

And the worst sin of all? The episode was so. very. boring.

Oh and "let's protect Jon's body for no reason or motivation whatsoever. What? We should burn it because we're afraid that people who die will turn into wights? Nah lets protect him because he's special because the plot knows he'll be resurrected soon and we need to drag this plot point out as long as possible for suspense purposes. Even though the very fact that we are protecting his body makes it obvious that he's coming back at some point."

this was the biggest issue for me... there is NO reason for them to be protecting the body, nor is there reason for them to think a fight is coming or for Alliser to threaten them.. it's terrible.

by biggest issue i mean Dorne doesn't exist in my mind.

Also I'm pretty sure Dinklage doesn't give a f*** about this show any more and is just phoning it in to cash his paycheck

Not only that, I swear the first shot of Davos we get is him taking a dump.

dinklage hasnt given a **** since his trial in season 4.

Likewise Micheal McElhatton. In the first three seasons he was mugging for the camera any chance he got. He looked bored senseless in this episode.

I'd be bored senseless too if my entire role on the show was just sitting around making snarky comments and reminding the viewers that Walda is pregnant.

Well Jon didn't stab himself repeatedly so that's enough to tell Davos something is amiss. And every Crow at Castle Black knows Thorne hated Jon so the Crows that are in the room with Davos would suspect Thorne having something to do with it.

And they couldn't possibly have taken the body because they respected Jon and didn't want to leave him lying in the snow.

That's not the issue. The issue isn't paying respects to his corpse, its "why the **** are they protecting him as if they have some foreknowledge of the plot." Who cares if Jon did or didn't stab himself. He's a ****ing corpse.

They are protecting him out of plot contrivance because they need Jon's body undisturbed while they pointlessly postpone his resurrection as long as possible for "suspense"
