Ramsay's brief mourning was in line with his show character for me. Myranda for all intents and purposes was his equal in terms of sadism and psychologically.

It was always clear that he was fonder of her than any other person, so he had his quick moment to mourn. But the key part is that he quickly moved past it, evident by his "feed her to the hounds" line.

But I agree on Davos, there being no ramifications over the deaths of Stannis and Shireen was pretty poor.

Ramsay isn't fond of anyone. That's kind of the point of Ramsay.

And spending narrative time mourning the loss of a pointless character like Myranda is a waste when people like Stannis and Doran are cast aside and then forgotten.

They are protecting him out of plot contrivance because they need Jon's body undisturbed while they pointlessly postpone his resurrection as long as possible for "suspense"

Well, they need something for Davos to do when he should be searching for Rickon instead lol.

That's not the issue. The issue isn't paying respects to his corpse, its "why the **** are they protecting him as if they have some foreknowledge of the plot." Who cares if Jon did or didn't stab himself. He's a ****ing corpse.

This and this.

Hell, just have it be Davos and the boys mourning his corpse. Why even try to create a suspensful situation out of it?

There's really no point in me watching this anymore. The writers don't care about character development or motivation, just about getting to the next big plot moment. And all the big plot scenes will be on youtube anyways so I can just watch them there and not deal with the boring in-between scenes filled with bad dialogue and head-scratching decisions.

In a couple of weeks I'll just google "Jon Snow Resurrection Scene" and "Jon Snow Kills Ramsay Bolton" and that'll be it for me.

Or... you know... when Melisandre randomly shows up in the room to do basically nothing... mention 'i can bring him back'.... even if in the vaguest of ways... or have someone in the nights watch see Mel walk into the room where he somehow knew Jons body was and say something like 'ive seen a red priest bring someone back to life' to Alliser....

Hell... a nights watchmen (exiled from the brotherhood) who was there when the hound came back could even be an excuse... but NO... nothing at all

Roose Bolton, Seasons 5 & 6:

"Hey Fat Walda is pregnant. We think it'll be a boy."
"Did I mention Fat Walda is pregnant? I really hope she's having a boy."
"When Fat Walda has a boy - because she's prengant - he'll totes be my heir."
"Fat Walda Pregnant Boy. Boy Fat Pregnant Walda Fat."
"I'm going to name my boy Fat Waldo. Because he was born of Walda. She's pregnant."

Fear does funny things to people.

Anyways... what do you think is going to happen? Dany is going to go back to mereen... then spend another season there... let go of the dragons after she magically trains them to be good? Drogon is uncontrollable and hes not really causing much trouble.

I don't see why she'd spend another season there. I think Dany will take her army of Dothraki, dragons, and bring blood and fire to Meereen. Blood and fire will be the great united between wise master and servant as they fight to protect their great city from Danaerys. I suspect she might turn her hordes loose in hopes of driving out the Harpies.

Well you clearly missed my sarcasm in that post... lol I was just saying Tyrion is about to let out the other dragons

Nah, I just ignored it, because I'm honestly wondering how the show intends to bring Meereen to a nice and tidy end. There's no third party threats like we have in the books (at least not yet, though Cleon got himself a name drop) where you force the Meereenese to pick the less bad of two awful choices.

Not to toot my own horn... but I love how Reek was able to stab a Bolton soldier in the back.. then they ...... I'm sorry... purposely... blatantly... obviously.... show the victim has a big ass Bolton shield on his back.

I mean... come on... it's like D&D are trolling like mother****ers.

I was reading some analyses of Dany's chapters from ADWD. You know, there's a certain symmetry in the ironborn successfully stealing her dragons. Then, you get to have Dany bring her Khalasar against the Westerosi version of the Dothraki. You know, given how that's where Dany started and all...with raiders and reavers...

I was thinking about what Dany being subject to the traditions of the Dothraki and being taken to the Temple of the Dosh Khaleen (which we saw in Season 1 in "A Golden Crown") might mean for her prospects of ruling the Seven Kingdoms, and it struck me that, as a khaleen, she actually wields far more power than she had as Drogo's khaleesi or as Queen of Mereen, which could possibly result in her fulfilling Viserys' plans of attacking Westeros with a Dothraki army with an actual authority and legitimacy that he never could've attained, whilst her advisors, dragons, and army of Unsullied trail behind her.

What's your perception of time here? That they've been holed up in that room for days?

They just recovered the body in the early a.m. and it isn't nightfall yet -let's cut them a little slack here! And they can't just build a pyre in the courtyard because Thorne and co. are out there. Wight transformation isn't instantaneous unless the Night's King is present and wills it, so the situation isn't so urgent that they need to hack the body up and put it in the fireplace yet either.

You mean when Beric came back.

Mel wished to see Davos, the only person in the castle she knows and trusts and the safest place to bed down is near him. She was shocked to see Jon's body and this only furthers the crisis of faith that she's in since she had also forseen him at Winterfell. Obviously she's not in the mindset to attempt resurrection yet - if she's ever done it.

My thoughts exactly. Well almost. I doubt she's going to become a nun, who may be somewhat revered but wield no real power in the Dothraki patriarchy. I think rather she'll win them over when Drogon finds her.

The Dosh Khaleen aren't nuns, at least so far as I understand it; they're essentially shamans/holy women who can read omens and bestow wisdom. I personally think she'll actually get to the Temple of the Dosh Khaleen and end up doing or experiencing something that will influence the Dothraki to help her on a cultural level, and that everything we've seen her do since leaving most of the Dothraki behind will end up being largely inconsequential.

making entire plotlines inconsequential is dave and dan's forte, so you're probably right
