Drogon had a massive growth spurt this season. Look at the difference between Dany on his back last season and this past episode:

Season 6:

And how much bigger his head is compared to Dany:

By next season he'll probably be swallowing people whole. And maybe by season 8 he'll reach Balerion proportions and he'll be swallowing horses.:D

For those who have never seen how big Balerion was:

He has been training with Alistair Ubereem.

But seriously though, it has been ridiculous. :funny:

I'm listening to the soundtrack now and am absolutely slayed by [blackout]"Light of the Seven."[/blackout] I REALLY hope that isn't one of those album-only tracks and actually shows up in the finale. I mean, I'm pretty sure I know what scene it will go with, so now I'll be disappointed if it doesn't, lol.

Which scene would you guess FC?

So the soundtrack came out already, or did it leak?

i think it leaked on youtube... it comes out tomorrow on itunes i think. I downloaded all of them :funny:

I was hoping for a potential final scene being Jon or another Stark. Oh well. :funny:

the final scene has been confirmed to be Hodor on an Ice Dragon...

:atp:

I also feel like I should admit that I agree with you more about episode 9 after watching it another 4 times. :oldrazz:
Aw, knew you'd come around eventually. :cwink:

Also, as I continue listening to the soundtrack, I realize [blackout]Hear Me Roar[/blackout] is a variation of [blackout]Light of the Seven[/blackout], and might be all we get of it in the actual show, while the latter may be the extended, album-only version after all. I hope I'm wrong, though. I could see the former being in a scene leading up to the main event.

The music in this series has been good but I really wish it was all orchestral. I understand it's probably a budgetary thing but using synths to replicate acoustic instruments rarely works and hobbles the score in my opinion.

hear me roar was used for jaime too.. its the rains of castamere i thought. i haven't listened to every bit yet

Yeah, it basically [blackout]weaves the Rains of Castermere into Light of the Seven, but I don't just associate Rains with Jaime as it's the general Lannister theme[/blackout], so I dunno.

Euron Crow's Eye would make a terrible house name. :funny:

I know Stormborn is just a nickname, but its a name and story that is known worldwide. If i was her when all the fighting is over and I was settled Id rename the House to signify the new order in Westeros and a new beginning. And when anyone thinks of her descendants and think of her house they will think of her Daenerys Stormborn and not all the countless Targs that preceeded her.

Plus I just think that her descendants being known as "The Stormborn" would be badass.

But it probably won't happen so I won't get my hopes up.
GRRM's world has a somewhat tougher hold on family names being preserved throughout the centuries; the Starks alone seem to truly be a thousands-of-years-long line of rulers who all kept the same name. Most languages die out long before that point. Real world medieval families tended to have very flexible sobriquets, like how an Angevin Hoise became known as the Plantagents (Broom straws) only got the name centuries later after their holding changed, and eventually morphed into the Lancasters and Yorks. Only a few of the modern ones, from like just before the Renaissance, holding a name for centuries, like the Hapsburgs. And most of them were place-names; no one refers to the Cerdicinglas, because instead we say the House of Wessex.

Having said that, Dany does have a precedent for establishing her own identity in some ways. She's an Essosi-raised exile from a deposed house, and a woman; if she wants to create her own name, she in herself is a foreign enough concept as a ruler to make that her family name and found a successor branch to House Targaryen, much like how Florent and Tyrell are successors to Gardner. It's a long shot, as I think GRRM's world will always have stronger linguistic ties to the past, but it could happen.

Oh, and that reminds me of some fun I had with a friend one time trying to figure out what Jon Snow might call himself if he doesn't become a part of either a reformed Iron Throne Targaryen House or a new Stark House. We came up with the name Blackshield, and even a fake coat of arms: an alphyn, which looks like a dragon and wolf crossbreed, in white and red on a black background. New House words: Night Has Fallen.

I have not listened to it, but I have suspicion that it will be a fiery scene indeed. Call it a hunch.

Haven't listened yet but there's a few tracks that I hope are on it, namely the KOFV charge and Jon's lone stance against the Bolton charge, would love to hear full versions of those.

Those are on the soundtrack.
