I loved the episode! They did the battle very well, Sam stepped up, Jon was the most interesting here then he was for this entire season (even though he is the kind of characters that's better reacting to everything around him). It was definitely a moral boost to the Mountain and the Viper episode.

Surely they can just randomly cut to a figure at the end & fans can easily see who it is etc

Yeah, people here are making it out to be something that's going to eat up a ****load of screentime. They can easily do it in 60-90 seconds.

Orson Lannister is probably a swipe at Orson Scott Card, not about GRRM. Bugs are the villains in Ender's Game, and he really hates GOT. Benioff and Weiss also worked on an earlier version of an Ender's Game script.

I meant [BLACKOUT]Merett's (or his show equivalent) hanging.[/BLACKOUT] I don't remember -- is it a short scene?

Card hates GOT?

Yet another reason to dislike him as a human being...

It’s the best finale we’ve ever done, bar none,” Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss said in a statement. “The performances from our cast, the direction from Alex Graves, the VFX work, the new [music] cues from Ramin Djawadi—all of it came together in perhaps the finest hour we’ve produced. We’re immensely proud of ‘The Children.’ And a little intimidated by the episode, because now we have to get back to the business of season five and figure out a way to top it.”

So another Game Of Thrones cast member has a side job as a musician. Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) releases music on Columbia Records under the name Raleigh Ritchie.

i don't know what it is, but they seem to like casting musicians. wasn't lilly allen asked to play yara? iwan's another one. new, and og daario too. seems like European actors have more diversified bonds than their stateside contemporaries.

The soundtrack is already out and it's....Godly.

"You Are No Son of Mine." :hrt:

Love that they said episode 10 will be 66 minutes long.

So, who here thinks the show can crack 8.0 with episode 10? So far this season episode 7 is in front with a 7.20.

Usually the last episode is the highest rated of the season except for season 3 where it was the 2nd highest of that season(ep. 6 was the highest that season). And every episode of the newest season has a higher rating than the highest rated episode of the previous season.

Track 22 The Children, I hate to say it, is full of beats that he has used for Dany and her dragons and it sounds like a final cue for the final scene. Remember last season's finale was called Myhsa and that was the final scene too. Im guessing that this finale is also named after the final scene. If Track 22 "The Children" is in fact the score for the final scene then it is a Dany scene and it is likely her doing something good for the children of Mereen cause its uplifting not dark or brooding.

Im calling it now the last scene of the season is a Dany scene and The Children refers to the children of Mereen.

I hope to god Im wrong. Another upbeat Dany ending instead of a jawdropping cliffhanger is gonna irk the piss out of me.

Listen to it very very carefully. It begins with "King in the North" at the start then the Myhsa sound comes into it, but then it takes another turn and there's a little bit of Arya's theme "Valar Morghulis" in there as well. I'm fairly sure that "The Children" actually refers to the Stark children. We might even get a montage with all the current Starks kids and where they're at, perhaps through a Bran vision.

Also note "You Are No Son of Mine" has the Valyrian lyrics sung in that as well, and we both know that track is a Lannister moment.

I gotta say I love the Thenn's theme (tongtwister). It brings something truly exotic into them
