The Dark Knight Rises Gary Oldman - "We start shooting next year. You didn't hear that from me"

I guess we'll see. People say a lot of things. I'm sure Oldman recognized that he should not have said what he said. With Nolan doing Inception it's hard to believe he'll do back to back 200 million dollar movies with no break in between. That's a whole lot of work to do in 2 years. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.

All right guys, I'm off to bed.

Today reminded me of those awesome days of TDK's ARG. Good things are on the horizon. I can feel it!

Gah, this made my whole month! I rarely posted once TDK anticipation began but I always read the threats, now this time I'm gonna post. :brucebat:

Whoa! That means we'll probably get this, Green Lantern, Spider-man 4, Thor, AND Captain America. All in the same year! Now THAT would be the year of comic book movies. It'll sure make up for only having one Marvel movie this year and only one next year.

This is interesting... Is it possible that the other production companies want to compete against what could be another boxoffice monster?

DC = Dominant Cinema

Crossing my fingers, here!

I can't wait to see how the story pans out with this third movie. So excited!

Wasn't expecting this at all. Good news:up:

I hope it won't be too long before we get an annoucement/confirmation from Warners.
hahaha! Too true!

I would love to be proven wrong but I really cant see this filming next year. Pre production sure, but filming? Im not too sure. That would include designing and building sets, props, costumes. Finding locations. And all this just after finishing "Inception"? I dont know, I mean I realize Christopher Nolan wouldnt be involved in all of this but to me it still seems too soon. But what Anjow1060 is saying is very encouraging. But like I said, I would love to be proven wrong.

According to this alleged Inception crew member they've left the Gotham City set standing so they won't need to rebuild everything. And i'm sure there's more sets, props etc. that kept in storage and could be reused.

Up at Cardington airship hangers the other week doing some rigging for a film called Olivers Arrow. Warner brothers permanently rent the building and Gotham City still takes up half the space and what a space!! 170' to the highest point in the roof..about the same wide and over 900' long, big enough to build 2 R101 airships in at once.

So just throwing a question out there. Does this more than likely indicate that WB and Nolan have come to some sort of agreement?

Or is it still up in the air if Nolan returns?

I'm amazed this wasn't leaked from Michael Caine:D

The chances are much bigger now imo. I always thought the question was not if but when Nolan would sign on anyway.
Olivers Arrow = Green Arrow :oldrazz:

You wish! lol

Both David Goyer and one of TDK's producers Michael Uslan were present at the Con on Friday. Uslan will be making yet annother appearance today (Saturday) along with Joker creator Jerry Robinson. So there's an oppurtunity to get some more information from someone in-the-know!

Saturday, July 25

10:30-12:00 Comics Arts Conference Session #9: Is the Joker a Psychopath: You Decide!— Psychology professors Robin Rosenberg (The Psychology of Superheroes) and Travis Langley (Henderson State University) discuss the technical definition of a psychopath and review the criteria for antisocial personality disorder — does the Joker fit the clinical definition? Is he more than just crazy? They are joined by Joker experts Jerry Robinson (The Superhero: The Golden Age of Comic Books, 1938—1950), famed "Joker-fish" scribe Steve Englehart (The Point Man), and film producer Michael Uslan (The Dark Knight). Sounds like an interesting panel btw.

well according to imdb, Christian Bale has also confirmed that they begin shooting Batman III next year.

BATMAN BALE WILL START SHOOTING AGAIN NEXT YEAR

CHRISTIAN BALE will slip back into his rubber Batsuit next year (10) to begin shooting the sequel to THE DARK KNIGHT.

The Hollywood actor has confirmed he will return as Bruce Wayne/Batman for the third time in director Christopher Nolan's forthcoming film, but a production schedule had yet to be released.
However, Bale's The Dark Knight co-star Gary Oldman, who portrays Commissioner Gordon in the movie adaptations, broke the news of the return of the Caped Crusader to fans at the annual Comic-Con in San Diego, California on Friday (24Jul09).

He told fans, "The next Batman is shooting next year. It's at least two years away. But you didn't hear it from me!"

Then again...no source or quote.

Just watched that...

Why am I now starting to get the feeling that there's a catch to all of this?

Maybe it just seems too good?

Hmm. I just get the feeling that Warner said to him 'We hope to start shooting next year' and he has just repeated what he heard. Of course that isn't any real confirmation.

I'm sure WB hope that can still filming Batman 3 as soon as possible.

Yea im not believing this until theres more official confirmation... And to be honest I hope it isn't true. It seems too rushed. Especially if Nolan is coming back. I also hope its released in 2012. 2011 is way too packed.

is it too good to be true though? it might not be... but im betting it is.

I attended Warner Bros.' Comic Con presser with a select few journalists this afternoon here in San Diego. More on that -- in particular JONAH HEX and SHERLOCK HOLMES -- shortly (and elsewhere on BOF). Anyway, the great Gary Oldman was there as well promoting THE BOOK OF ELI as yes, he was *ahem* asked about his earlier BATMAN 3 comments. His response: "I've been a rather naughty boy today." Take that for what you will. But I'm pretty damn sure that Gary wasn't simply F'n with the fanboys in Hall H, OK?
(Also, anybody still thinking that INCEPTION is BATMAN 3 is a moron. Really, stop with the emails about that, OK?)
