Yeah Gears has always had the inconsistent damage, really every multiplayer game has it. Cod and Battlefield especially. I'm loving big head mode. Absolutely hilarious especially their voices.

In Horde and Campaign the mulchers and boomshots are extra big too hahah it's fantastic.

Sometimes you get put in p2p rooms and that could be it. Most of the time, when that happens to me it's because I'm inaccurate or the dude is using the double barrel. But for the most part it's nowhere near as bad as it was in Gears 2.

You're absolutely right that it's nowhere near as bad as Gears 2 was. And I do understand that many games have inconsistencies in their weapon damage, but IMO Gears has always been one of the worst for it.

The shotgun should do the same damage always (unless you're on an active reload). Granted, distance can make a difference, but when I shoot a dude twice when he's right in front of me and he doesn't even get downed but then he one shots me with the Gnasher, it's just stupid.

I've never been a rockstar at Gears to be honest as I'm much better at FPS games, but I've always enjoyed the series and accepted the multiplayer faults for what they were. I just can't stand that damage crap, man!

btw, if anyone in the party has a mutator the host can pick it, even if that person isn't host.

You know what I hate about Seriously 3.0? All of my friends are boosting certain medals, in Horde, in Private Matches, in Beast... It makes all competition completely redundant and it is sucking all the fun out of the game... Who care what medal title a person has when they can all be so easily boosted? Who cares how much fun chainsawing or bayonetting can be, or executing or the skill required for that when you can just always use instabig to make the boss fights easier... It's dumbed the game down.

I don't care if it takes me the next 5 years to get seriously 3.0 without boosting, I'd rather have the satisfaction of getting it all properly. I enjoy this game, but it's only been out under a month. I don't want to be so quick to reduce the whole multiplayer experience to a series of grinding sessions, with people bickering over who stole a kill because they're TRYING to get a medal. Just play the ****ing game people!

I never understood how other people doing stuff takes away from personal satisfaction. Like, if I burn through Horde on insane with Super Reload/Infinite Ammo/Instagib, why would that affect how you feel after doing the same thing with No Ammo Pickups/Vampire/Friendly Fire?

Anyways I'm grinding headshots right now because I want the Onyx medal and the Lobotomizer nametag, but I still have fun when I do play against/with other people. Instant gratification, it's awesome. I get to customize to my liking and enjoy the game all the same.

Yeah, but the issue for me is, every friends game that I join these days seems to be either a boosting session with just bots or Horde with Instagib, Super Reload and Infinite ammo.

Also, It takes away from me if I finally earn an awesome medal title that I've wanted, but all my friends are like "Meh, I got that like a week ago" simply because they spent several hours grinding it with bots.

I don't mind the idea of boosting if it's for those medals that quite simply look ridiculously hard, but boosting for onyx lancer, hammerburst, retro kills? Boosting for game wins? Thats all stuff that will happen eventually, so why rush through it when you can just play the game normally? I feel like I'm in the minority out of my friends list, and that includes a wide variety of people, friends I know quite well, people I've met whilst gaming and Hype friends. Does anyone actually like this game 'vanilla', as it were?

Just because they don't care shouldn't cheapen how you feel about earning it and wearing it.

But yeah lol people who boost for weapon kills and all those other medals that will gradually finish themselves off are crazy. I'm just trying to knock off the ones that would take me forever to get otherwise. There are tons of people who play legit though, just snoop around the Epic forums.

Well I'd rather play with people I get along with and have good chemistry with. And you really don't understand my thing about the medals? One of the main parts of anything involving customisation is showing it off to other people, either showing something off because it looks unique or because it was difficult to earn, showing skill. Having medals so easy to boost completely undermines both those things, in exactly the same way looking at a K/D is undermined by the fact that anyone can boost that by playing bots in a quick match playlist.
