Well, i didnt really care much for Inception and heck of a lot less for TDKR so i didnt even buy those on bluray/dvd lol. I honestly dont buy those making of books generally. Only with SW do i go out and buy them, because i'm really passionate about this saga.Depends. The BB extras were mediocre, the TDK ones were bad... but the Inception extras were very good and TDKR's were just excellent.
They've released a LOT of details post-films (aka The Art and Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy book and The Fire Rises documentary). He just doesn't like doing it around the time of the movies themselves, because he wants the movie to stand by itself for a while. I respect that.
We're less than one month away from news. I firmly believe May the 4th will bring us a major announcement.
I'm fine with Tatooine because I know it would be just a short time there. With Luke Tatooine feels more right then the others. But that's no shocker because with the original it was going to be Morocco where they filmed and last minute went with Tunisia.
haha, Morocco is the Middle-East/North African answer to Toronto, doubling for Iran, Iraq and other countries.
And it's a fairly stable country; unfortunately Tunsia isn't lately hence why they're going with Morocco.

The Hollywood Reporter - Could 'Star Wars: Episode VII' Be Too Enamored With the Original Movies?
With each new reveal, the latest chapter gains something in common with George Lucas' original trilogy.
One thing that can’t be said about J.J. Abrams’s Star Wars at this early stage: it’s not reverential enough to the source material. With each new piece of information released about the project, it’s clear that Abrams and his collaborators have the earlier movies -- and, most obviously, the original trilogy from the 1970s and ‘80s -- in mind as both inspiration and target of aspiration.
But it also may point to Abrams’ own Star Wars fandom -- he has spoken on numerous occasions about the impact George Lucas’ original trilogy had on him -- and bring a nostalgia to the new series that could overwhelm its forward momentum if left unchecked. (Disney chief Alan Horn, in an interview with THR's Stephen Galloway on April 2, had admitted problems with getting the script right and revealed that the film is already shooting.)
Early rumors about female lead characters for the movie -- who would be an active player in the story and not space royalty a la Princess Leia or Queen Amidala in the two earlier trilogies -- suggested a welcome break from Star Wars tradition, as have suggestions that Lupita Nyong’o or another actor of color could play a primary role in the movie; both moves could make the movie more inviting to a wider audience.
Abrams himself has said as much. In an interview with U.K.'s The Times of London last November, he noted that, "The beauty of [the original Star Wars] was that it was an unfamiliar world, and yet you wanted to see it expand and to see where it went." From what little we know about Star Wars: Episode VII, it’s clear that Abrams and Lucasfilm hold what’s come before in high esteem -- what we need now is to know that it’s a movie as interested in the future as it is in the past.
I would not be surprised if Morocco doubled for Egypt in X Men Apocalypse.

So, that’s a little puzzle piece for us. We still don’t have enough to make the outside of the picture, even, let alone start working on the middle. When will the official announcements come? Mid-May, I’m hearing. That’s not sooo long.
Think it will come end of May, and then you'll be so surprised and amazed if it happens mid May, that's my strategyMid May? You're killing me, JJ!
Mid May means Late July!

Wonder if it's pointing towards webisodes again?

By the time a movie is released on dvd/bluray i think it's had a fair chance to stand on its own. I've honestly never understood Nolan's issues, and of course he's entitled to doing what he thinks is best, it's his movie. But at the same time, as a consumer i also have the right to buy or not. For me personally, bonus features are a huge part of why i buy a bluray. I dont bother buying bare bones stuff.
Back to SW though, i just hope we get official news soon. I need to get excited for this movie, damn it!. And i dont need that many details. I dont like totally spoiling myself with movies. Cast, name of movie, general plot and a few production pics and maybe some webdocs of the process of making the movie will make me a very happy woman

Speculation is swirling like the mists of Dagobah around newcomer Maisie Richarsdon-Sellers. Several sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that she is in line to nab an undisclosed and possibly major role in the high-profile Disney/Lucasfilm production, which is in the middle of an extended casting search in London in advance of a May production start date.
