Ghost Rider 2 In The Works - Part 2

^ I would. But that is very deep in the EU lore. That was straight out of the AvP comic.

However, the comic made sense why that would happen. That Predator was betrayed and became an outcast. So it worked.

See, making him an outcast does make sense as you said. The way they did it in the movie felt kind of cheesy.

AVP R is one of the worst films I've ever seen and I was actually really looking forward to it before release. Horrible acting, utterly bad script, weak direction, Bad lighting and other problems with darkness...

That film actually made me miss AVP1 and I didn't like that one either (Though didn't hate it. The first fight between an Alien and a Predator was kinda well made).

This new Ghost Rider looks pretty cool, but i hate the fact that we had a GR film only a few years ago that was awful, and now it's getting a random reboot with the SAME actor in the lead. Just cheapens the whole thing a bit for me, i dunno why. Couldn't they just do it right the first time?

Anyway, guess it's better to have another shot at it and do it better than have that last ****** movie be the only GR film out there. God that movie was dire.

I loved AvP-R when I first saw it. I think it was just that jazz I get with seeing Aliens and Predators on the big screen.

Then I tried to re-cut it. That's when I realized the film was horrible in every possible way. I could'nt fix it. No one could. It's AWFUL.

I also saw Predators 5 times in the theater, just to make sure I had a set opinion on it.

And yes I like it. :o

AVP:R was actually better for the R-rating which tells you something for how much more awful it would have been with a watered down PG-13. I thought the first AVP was alright but was a let down on some levels. AVP:R was a let down in every level. And I was slightly drunk when I saw it the first time and it still failed. Almost none of it was original and what was original was corny as hell.

Going for a certain rating shouldn't be a priority in most films although some just beg for it. There's no sense in making a movie rated R if you don't need to but going for PG-13 when it would benefit an R rating means you have to sacrifice for it.

I don't think Ghost Rider 2 needs an R rating but I won't object to it either. Blade and it's sequels were R rated and did well for comic movies with an R.

I agree, but AvP-R didnt even use practical blood. It was almost all CGI. Some was practical, but the CGI **** looked awful. It didn't have an impact.

Did you see the way they Lucas'ed the blond chick's death? It was actually pretty awesome before, and they made her lower half fall off, with guts and **** pooring out.

What's funnier is the actor playing the Pizza boy did a decent job showing the emotion. And now? It's totally wrong. Her guts are falling out! Haha.

It's not a reboot, it's a sequel. If you read the synopsis it states that this movie is set something like 8 years after the first with Johnny Blaze hiding out in Europe, trying to learn how to control the Rider. It just won't be very connected, and'll probably ignore continuity when it doesn't fit, a la XMEN FC.

Haha I've watched it way too many times too. Or way too many times not enough?

Ah ok, the trailer made it out like it was a reboot.

It's reboot. The only thing that's the same is Cage.

The origin's changed, the look is changed, the character has changed...

Woah, what about the origin and character have changed? This is news to me. The look changing is no surprise to me. That's just artistic license at play there. But his origin and character have changed? Those were just about perfect in the first one. What's there to change? That Roxanne is the only reason Lucifer(instead of Mephisto) didn't run off with his soul? There's not much to change without it flat out not being the comic book origin anymore.

Only saw it once and was kinda disappointed. Not a horrible film though and way WAY better than AVP-R but still. I think all these films (GR, AVP) need to get a SINGLE writer with a SINGLE vision without any second drafts, additional writers helping and such.
That's how their proper reboots can be really great though I'm still rooting for GR2. Love the new look and action scenes shown so far.

It's not a reboot, it's a remix. It's like taking the origin story and throwing in some new stuff to give it a different spin while not completely abandoning the original movie. I haven't watched the trailer yet but I will eventually. I have read some of the details on what they're doing however, hence I'm going to say Hollywood discovered a new thing: the remix. The Incredible Hulk was like a prototype of it after they messed up the first one. It mostly ignored the first movie without completely disregarding it and keeping it somewhat canonical.

What? ALL film scripts go through various drafts. Sometimes with one writer, sometimes with like 2 or more. It's how writing scripts go.

You write one draft. Then another. And another, until it's good.

that's probably an accurate way of describing it...

basically it's a reboot, but to the casual movie goer it'd still sorta be a sequel to them.

much like the incredible hulk was.. (if you ignored the opening credits, it would have certainly seemed like one)

You write one draft. Then another. And another, until it's marketable.

Fixed

Uh...no. Until it's good was correct. Yeah, movies are made for money and ****, but c'mon. You want a good movie? Or a money maker..?

Studios would much rather make money than a good movie. I guarantee if I came to a studio knowing the future, and I had a good script vs a poor one, but the poor one would make 100mil more, they'd use the crappier script. Every time. It's a business about money. Ideally, a film would be good AND make money, but studios are a business, and like any other business, $$$ talks.
