I like Galifianakis so much that I don't care if he's a Ghostbuster.

Dan Aykroyd recently reserved some time with Metro and you can bet your britches, Ghostbusters 3 was a hot topic. Unfortunately for those clinging to the hope of Bill Murray returning for the third film in the franchise, this little news break isn't going to make your day. According to Aykroyd, Murray is definitely O-U-T.
"No, I can tell you he won't be involved," Dan stated when asked of Bill's attachment to the film.
Pressed for details Aykroyd admitted some disappointment in Murray's decision to steer clear of the film, but did express an overall positive outlook on the potential film itself.
"It's sad but we're passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn't seem to be coming and we have to move on. It's time to make the third one."
With the ugly news out of the way it does, at this point, seem as though Ghostbusters 3 will eventually morph from fantasy to reality... and it could even happen as soon as next year.
“We're working on it to make it just right to satisfy our fans. I'm confident we'll be in production in the next year.”
Now I don't want to get any serious anticipation built up, but maybe, just maybe, we'll actually see the third film. And now we know: we can finally put to rest the hope that the legendary Bill Murray will have a part in the picture. Bill's clearly opted out. Now that's some bittersweet news.
I'm cool with it. I mean, Akroyd has always been the heart of the franchise anyways. This is his baby. If he says it's in good hands, it's in good hands. Good enough for me. Murray doesn't own the rights to his character - they can say he's on vacation, that he died, a variety of different explanations for what happened to him. The key character, to me, is Akroyd. Disappointment? Yes. But, it's just losing the appearance of an actor - the heart of the franchise is still there.
You know, Venkman and Murray are some of the best aspects of the GHOSTBUSTERS movies...but he's not all they have to offer. Venkman can be written out like anything else.
A PT Cruiser? Why not a converted fire truck, tank, or a hummer?

well allegedly didnt he do Garfield because he thought the Cohen Bros were directing itI'd love to see a new ghostbusters, really i would just like i want a new robocop, but i can't help but feel it just wont be the same without venkman. He was for me and for many people the best member. It's a shame he wont do it, yet he did Garfield 2?
It's Peter Venkman. There's only one answer to that: auto-erotic asphyxiation.
I like the majority of this. I'm only unsure on Pena, and I do want to see Oscar.; he doesn't have to be a Ghostbuster, but I would like to see him.It sucks that Murray doesnt wanna be in it, but honestly I kinda only want any of the old Ghostbusters (including murray if he changes his mind) to have a little bit of screentime. Like not more than Old Spock in Star Trek.
I think they should really focus on bringing the new generation to the forefront.
On the new generation of Ghostbusters I hope they dont pick comedic actors who already are leads in comedy movies throughout the year like Jason Segal, Zack Galifanakis, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, Jay Baruchel, etc. I really hope they look into TV comedic actors.
That all being said here are my top choices for the new generation.
James Roday (Psych)
Michael Pena (Observe and Report, Tower Heist, 30 Minutes or Less)
Bill Hader (SNL, Superbad, Hot Rod, Tropic Thunder).
Dule Hill (Psych)
and for the female lead I think Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation)
and for a sequel they can bring in Oscar (the baby from the 2nd one) but I dont really want him in this one.
Venkman basically was made out to be the draw in the films, but the cartoon series managed to pretty much give them all equal footing. He was still the funny sarcastic one, but it didn't revolve around him.
