I played around with different character types to have on the team, to fill some of the narrative roles of the original members without necessarily retreading old beats. One that I landed on that I particularly liked was the idea of having a Ghostbuster who went through seminary, but left before coming a priest. I've always joked that Catholics are like God's SWAT team, so I felt like having someone from that world would bring an interesting dynamic to the character roster.
That's interesting. I can see that guy being the one "dark, serious" member of the team, kind of like Winston Zeddmore meets Rupert Giles meets Eric Draven. If they want a comedic actor to play that role, I can see Jason Schwartzman or Bill Hader do that role. If they want an out-of-place serious actor, I can see Kit Harrington or Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Heck, it would be both poignant and hilarious if either Robert Pattinson or Daniel Radcliffe were to play that role as a send-up of their previous mystical roles.
