The negative reactions to this movie are so unbelievable. Kate McKinnon's look is perfect .

This looks so fantastic. So many cosplayers are going to love is.

wow Melissa McCarthy lost a lot of weight.

its easy to predict how this thread will turn out. like the Terminator . because we dont like that this movie is even made we will nitpick about every little detail.

Yeah MM has been looking great lately.

wonder how much money Sony forked over to Dan to be saying that

Dan doesn't need a corporation to tell him to hype the Ghostbusters franchise. He's been doing that for years, besides does the guy who worked on Blues Brothers 2000 really have room to bash this film even if he wanted to?

Why was it always an assumption in a reboot Ghostbusters had to be a male team. The funniest joke of all too me is Thor as Jenine there secratary.

It wasn't. The assumption was that there would be both Male and Female Ghostbuster members in a follow up for quite some time now....and that it would still feature classic characters in some way even with an all new cast. Cause ya know, they were kind of important characters.

Actually really dig the steam punk glasses on McKinnon, and I'm primed to hate this thing haha. Hope we get to see some of the new gear soon.

The appeal of seeing the old cast was gone for me once Harold passed away and it was clear that Bill wasn't going to do it. I wouldn't want to see the original trio members in The Force Awakens unless it was all three either. Fortunately, we're getting that.

I'd be fine with just Ray and Winston showing up in smaller roles. Or even recasting the characters in a reboot.

Sadly, my fan mind just can't grasp or be too positive about a Ghostbusters universe where those main characters never existed. Likewise with TMNT, F4 or any other small team franchise. Wanted to see the team and mythos expanded in this crazy world of sequels and expanded universes we live in. Not minimized and replaced.

Dan Aykroyd's endorsement from earlier this week:

http://spinoff.comicbookresources.c...ses-ghostbusters-reboot-hits-the-right-notes/

“[It’s] going to be hot!” says Aykroyd, admitting that, as EP, he’s now a “cheerleader” for the franchise. “The new one’s going to be big! The interplay, and with each of them, their individual voices are so well defined. They’re just such different characters, and there’s a friction. There’s a dynamic there. I’m not going to spoil it for people, but it’s going to be big, big! …This is all going to introduce [the franchise] to a whole new generation of girls that are going to want to be Ghostbusters. We always needed them.”

Jeez Dan have some dignity, I know he's been in BB 2000 and Pearl Harbor, but this movie parody is on Sharknado and Uwe Boll levels.

Or even recasting the characters in a reboot.

See for me, I couldn't even tell you how much I LOATHE the idea of recasting the classic four (Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston) with new actors. Those characters are so intertwined with the actors that originally played them and their distinctive personalities, that having new actors trying to fill their boots would feel so, so wrong and would have ANGERED me to no end. :cmad:

Literally, the idea of someone other than Bill Murray playing Peter Venkman is so, so bad. :csad:

At least with this, I have zero expectations because they're working with a blank slate.

I do understand why people are bummed about it being a total reboot. They tried cracking a true sequel for years and they couldn't do it.

They won't keep past continuity? That sucks imao.

Am still curious to see what the end result will be like though.

Even though I enjoyed the original like many others, I have very little enthusiasm for any GB reboot in any form. Hopefully, this movie turns out to be good.

Really looking forward to this.

it's been too long

just thought I'd pop in to say
f*** this movie
f*** it right in the ear

I'm not even looking at this as GB reboot so much as a supernatural comedy from a talented comedic creative team. And in that sense, I'm looking forward to it.

I honestly don't mind this to be a Ghostbusters film though. I'm not excited, but this is better than half of Ghostbusters. As long as Feig embraces the whole idea of it it still has potential to be its own thing.

... why couldn't Amy Poehler be in this.

I mean, I'm not gonna go around calling it "Ghostbusters in Name Only" or anything. I just mean I'm not gonna constantly be comparing it to or holding it up against the original in anyway. I just see it as its own thing.

That seems what they're trying to do too which is okay by me. Still respect the original but if it can be its own thing then better for it.

With the team behind both planned Ghostbusters films i can't help but feel a little excited for this entire project.

It's been a bit refreshing to visit the comment section of Feig's Ghostbusters and to see some hope for the project being mentioned. There are still the naysayers that have dismissed it based on nothing other than it's a reboot, but to see actual variety in comments is nice.

I've been excited for this since day one and these pics make it real for me. After all the back and forths since Ghostbusters 2, will they make it, will they not... it's great to see actual evidence that the movie is being filmed.

Way to soon to tell, but because of what I've heard of Spy (I want to see it so bad, but... kids) and how she looks here, it looks like McCarthy is not going to be the walking 'fat joke' people who are not fans of her were fearing. And Kate! Definitely an Egon vibe, but I don't see her playing it at all the same. Her dress makes her look like the equipment person for sure. Almost Real Ghostbusters Egon... hmmm.

So what's the deal with the extras leaning back with hands on their faces and stuff? That's my question. All in all, I'm ready for this. Now show me the pack!

The fact that Spy is actually pretty good could be one of the reasons why GB isn't entirely such a bad idea after all.

I don't mind it being it's "own thing." If it were set in a different city and references the originals NY team. But, you know, Feig couldn't figure out how to make it work.
