Yeah which is such a shame cause I was really rooting for that movie. Bridesmaids and The Heat are great and Spy was surprisingly hysterical. The trailers really didn’t do much for me but I ended up loving it so much. So I was feeling pretty confident I was going to like Ghostbusters but sadly it didn’t work.Paul Feig is an excellent comedy director, he just wasn't fit for Ghostbusters. Sometimes things just don't work.
To me the biggest issue was they tried to do a modern take on the original concept, instead of doing their own thing. I think if they had done that, it would have turned out a lot better. Still, I enjoy it. It is most certainly not deserving of all the hate it gets imo. If simply for the amazing ghost at the end.Paul Feig is an excellent comedy director, he just wasn't fit for Ghostbusters. Sometimes things just don't work.
I thought the film industry had shifted into full mindless 90's eXtreme nostalgia revival?LOL! I was being sarcastic about demanding the Extreme Ghostbusters cartoon acknowledged as the only legit continuity.
Just making fun of both extremes who insist only theirs to be the correct one to persue going forward. Otherwise you are ascribed some heinous agenda, It's so ridiculous.
If you want the originals acknowledge and continued, you are a neanderthal-alt-right-man-child. If you insist the 2016 all Fem. version must be acknowledged and continued, then you are an agenda driven PC-Feminazi
And If you just happen to casually say you are not for one or the other extreme, you can't, you must be pigeonholed in one of those two extreme boxes! LOL!
So just to make fun of both sides, I was jokingly picking neither, and going with the actual fun Extreme!
Extreme Ghostbusters! That should be the best continuity!
Which I honestly thought nobody was a fan of. LOL!
And is the whole point, you can't just like what like? ...NO!
So I'm ready to die on the Extreme Ghostbustershillmound with you, anything and anyone that doesn't acknowledge them as the absolute, and only legit continuity going forward, must be neutralized !!!!!

...To the Extreme!

I’m more excited about Afterlife after reading this. Bill sure had some nice things to say and him reprising the role of Venkman will surely please everyone
Not really much of an article but good to know Murray approves of the script.
Well yeah.Yeah, I could never figure out why they didn't just make an original comedy about a group of paranormal investigators like the Ghost Adventures or Ghost Hunters TV shows. It didn't have to be Ghostbusters. The only reason they made it Ghostbusters was to cash in on the name.

If they didn't do that everyone would just call it a rip off of GB anyway.
Nothing wrong with doing another GB movie. THey just didn't execute

Top two entertaining moments for you???It wasn't as good as it could've been, given the talent involved, but I thought it was mostly fine and entertaining.
I’ve only seen it once, nearly 4 years ago, so I can’t get too specific with lines and whatnot, but I did love that Jaws mayor bit posted above, plenty of Kevin’s idiot moments (and Wiig’s inappropriateness around him) made me chuckle, as did Holtzman’s weirdness (that mime dancing she did comes to mind), and I also enjoyed the part where Melissa was possessed. Also the bit at the concert with the Mad TV guy and the mannequin chase.Top two entertaining moments for you???
i liked Wiig’s performance - that’s it really..
It didn't occur to me until looong after that Evolution tried to be another Ghostbusters and Ivan Reitman tried to duplicate the success. Four people in jumpsuits against monsters and another round logo. It is obvious now but it wasn't for me back then.
