Glee Episode V: The Sylvester Strikes Back - - Part 11

I'm actually surprised he hasn't had a makeover episode where they drop the Blaine schtick and at least get him to look a little more like regular Darren. It'd be a huge trade up.

I have a hard time believing that anyone finds him attractive in-character.

I have wished so many times for them to "Darrenize" Blaine's appearance the way they turned Rachel into Lea.

His attractiveness would instantly increase astronomically.

If I was Darren, I'd be sick a while ago of what a ginormous dork they make me look like, especially since half or more of the general audience probably doesn't even know what he really looks like.

Maybe when he gets into NYADA? They like to reuse storylines.

He'll have his "wild college years" where, for Blaine, that means going ungelled and not wearing bowties with every outfit. That rebel.

Yeah, at most he might just revert to what he was at Dalton.

On the plus side, I think Darren's acting has improved this season. Though considering 90% of his screentime in Season 3 involved gratuitous musical numbers and following Colfer around like a puppy dog, it might be a little hard to determine.

Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner are the best actors in the new bunch, IMO.

I'd agree with that.

If it weren't for his voice, I'd think that they hired Jacob Artist based solely off looks. Then again, his boringness might be the fault of the writers.

Yea....I think, considering their material, it's not necessarily fair to try to make a complete determination of some of these people's acting abilities based on what they do on Glee.

I don't really think there's ever been anyone on Glee who was just flat out insufferably godawful at acting though.

Though I think both Damian McGinty and Samuel Larsen are black holes of vapid nothingness.

Coincidentally both from the damn reality show.

To be fair, Jenner came from the Glee Project too, and he's a significantly better actor than they are, IMO.

Joe can GTFO out though. He contributes nothing and he's an ugly ****er.

He's aware. He just rarely if ever does anything to fix the problems people have with his writing.

guys don't grow chest hair until after high school graduation.

It's funny how hollywood has that mantra. Just like guys dont grow facial hair until afte graduating. I saw plenty of juniors/seniors with full on beards.

And it is sad that they increased Blaines addicition to hair gel as soon as he transfered to McKinley. EVERYTHING about him basically changed and not for the better. He was so charming and "dashing" during season 2. Now he does nothing but pine for Kurt and always has a worry on his face.

An article on EW.com about the Men of McKinley calendar actually brings up an excellent point. A few years ago, didn't people get up in arms about Lea and Dianna being all sexed up in a magazine spread, because they were playing high schoolers at the time?

Now Murphy has the male high schooler characters, in-universe, getting half naked for a calendar?

Something seems off about this...

Because nobody cares about guys being half-dressed. If women do it, they're ****es.

You're probably right. But I won't be surprised if someone eventually makes a bigger fuss about this and Ryan gives one of his usual snippy responses in return.

Meh, I didn't think either one was a big deal.

But yea, Murphy doesn't like being criticized.

I think reactions would have been slightly different if it had been in show instead of in a magazine. And well no one cares about glee anymore.

It still has decent ratings, but its fan following and pop culture importance has dwindled.

Exactly. Might as well bring her back for the rest of the season and finish her story. Plus nd shouldn't have the bare minimumwhen there are others oout there that will join.
