Probably because they are forcing this Jarley relationship just to be slightly different from the original F/Q (R)/P triangle they had going on.

I do wonder why kurtchel arr letting Santana live in the loft for free though...she is loaded after all. Or maybe they feel guilty that their parents are the ones paying rent since neither of them have jobs either.
