I was afraid that the episode would turn into a horrible PSA, revealing that Finn died of a ___ overdose/___ addiction, falsely projecting Cory's issues onto Finn. Thankfully, that didn't happen. "The Quarterback" focused on the right characters, the right devastating moments, and made a lot of smart choices. I expected it to be Rachel-centric, and I don't know, maybe I wanted it to be Rachel-centric (certainly I'll be aggravated if it's "Finn who?" after this, but I wouldn't be shocked if it is), but it was a smart choice to reserve her for late in the episode and exercise restraint. I didn't think much of the acting in the Puck/Beiste scenes (the writing wasn't fantastic, but Mark's crying moments were more the problem), and I expected and wanted a scene with Santana admitting that she was projecting her own terrible treatment of Finn onto Sue, but those two are my only issues with the episode. Oh no, there was one more - Tina's scene with Emma - I admire the attempt at a cathartic dark joke, but come on, does Tina have to be dragged further down for the sake of it? Funny pamphlets (as always), but could that have been tweaked for Kitty instead?
