Does anyone else feel that for whatever weird reason, Darren Criss was way more charismatic in Season 2?

Maybe he's just overexposed, or maybe they've just made Blaine too goofy (or both), but it seems like he's lost some of the "star quality" he had at first.

There was a time in Season 2 when I thought he was easily the most charismatic performer on the show.

Really though, almost everybody's material has gone way downhill.

Matthew Morrison hasn't had a running storyline in how long?

Jayma Mays is basically gone.

Jane Lynch's material is older than dirt at this point.

Blaine lost the suaveness he had in Season 2 and totally de-evolved into this hideously-dressed goofball. Just as I feel like Season 1 Sue would smack the Sue who dressed up like Nicki Minaj straight out of McKinley in sheer disgust, I also feel like Season 2 Blaine wouldn't have been caught dead in half the crap he's worn ever since, or done most of the goofy stuff he's done especially in Season 4 and this season.

Chris Colfer and Naya Rivera don't get big emotional storylines anymore.

Everyone is kind of a shadow of what they used to be.

There was time when Will was a halfway decent teacher, Sue was an amazing nemesis and one of the best characters on television, and Blaine acted like a young serious adult with a measure of class, sophistication, and dignity. Oh, and also when Brittany was just a ditzy blond instead of too stupid to live, and when Sam wasn't as dumb as her and actually looked like he practiced basic self-maintenance.

It's really kind of sad.

Which begs the question: Why are we all still here?

What's wrong with us, guys? :csad:

Um yeah Blaine had more charisma in Season 2, he had a totally different personality then. He was a semi serious independent teen who didn't dress ridiculously and was suppose to be opposite of Kurt.

Glee is crack. We are crack heads. It isn't good for us but we just CANT STOP!

I'm seriously considering not even watching the Christmas episode though.

It just sounds too ****ing ******ed and ridiculous.

As opposed to every other episode this season, minus the Monteith flashback?

But it A) is completely out of the current timeline just because Murphy is that pathetically desperate for a Christmas episode, B) completely contradicts last year's Christmas that it supposedly takes place during!?

STOP TRYING TO APPLY LOGIC TO THIS, SCHLOSSER! :cmad:

But, yeah, that's dumb as ****.

I mean, seriously, the hell?

It's "unaired footage" or whatever they're trying to pretend it is from last year, but:

- Will is in it when he was in Washington last year

- Finn obviously won't be in it, when he was coaching New Directions during last Christmas

- Santana spends Christmas with Rachel and Kurt in NYC when she wasn't there yet and did not visit last Christmas

- Rachel was not in NYC last Christmas! She was on a holiday cruise with her dads! Kurt did not spend Christmas with her or Santana, he spent it with Blaine and Burt!

I need to stop. Seriously, in what possible way does a second of this episode make a lick of sense?

It's just complete alternate universe, totally out of the current timeline and having absolutely nothing to do with anything, and what is the point of even watching that? At least the other episodes this season were in the general narrative (such as there is one), while this episode literally just has nothing to do with anything.

Despite what the synopsis states, I gather this is an alternative reality where Rachel wasn't on a cruise, Blaine didn't go to New York, Santana did, etc.

It is a retcon to have a Christmas episodes, but it could be worse.

As for the Ryder/Marley/Jake triangle, my problem with it is that I have no idea who the episode wanted us to root for. Jake was being a dick to Marley, but the episode apparently wanted us to feel bad for Marley saying he hadn't changed. Ryder was very sympathetic, and even a little sad, given how much he's trying for a girl that isn't into him, but then we have the entire glee club, including Will, rolling their eyes while he sings and later he is portrayed as clingy.

I was just confused.

Im only interested in the Christmas episode for some good Santana snark.

Namely that Blaine isn't dressed as though 1950s Archie Andrews just came out of the closet. :o

Im just caught up to the Twerk episode and I have one question I cant believe to ask when it aired. Quinn was the most glaring absentee from Finn's memorial episode. Was it explained why she was MIA? Given their history, she should have been included

The whole Katy or a Gaga theme was stupid. Oh and Marley's a virgin and wont put out so her bf gets frustrated and hooks up with the witchy cheerleader. Hmmmm, we've never seen that before....

Rachel's haircut is awful....oh thank god that was a wig.

I cant be the only one that hates Becky. She's such a word that rhymes with witch and not the least bit entertaining. People give her a pass bc of her condition but that's no excuse. I wish someone would just tell her off bc she's so rude and mean to everyone

Unique. I still cant stand him and did not feel bad for him in the last episode. Go away

- According to what you choose to believe, Dianna Agron (Quinn) either wasn't back because she was busy promoting her new movie, or because of bad blood between she and show-runner Ryan Murphy.

- "A Katy or a Gaga" was ridiculous, and not in a good way.

- I don't hate Becky, but they act like they think it's "cute" or hilarious, or something, to have the girl with Downs Syndrome making all these sexual comments 24/7. They make her a one-joke pony 99% of the time, and then try to make her this heartwarming PSA the other 1%.

- I think Unique is annoying too. I'm not against the issue that Unique represents, in and of itself, but Unique's sense of entitlement and general whininess makes it hard for me to feel much when they try to do one of their "poor, so hard done by Unique" episodes. Plus, as with Becky's Special Episodes, they're so incredibly sledgehammer preachy about it. A lot of people thought Glee was too preachy about the Kurt bullying storyline, but IMO they've gotten worse with Unique and several other more recent plotlines. Or maybe it's just because Kurt doesn't exist solely to be a walking PSA like Unique does.

I'm pretty sure if I was transgendered, I'd find Unique offensive, not "inspiring" or whatever.

Sam is definitely a shadow of who he used to be, I loved the Sam we got in season 3. He wasn't this dumb shaggy idiot we have on the show now. He was mature and just and all around better character. And Sam and Rachel, no yuck. Sam in NY? No please.
