Musical Glee Episode V: The Sylvester Strikes Back - - - - - - Part 15

Watching 2009 now. It seems kind of superfluous and not the way I would have done the second-to-last episode (though I get what they were going for with the "now vs. then" and how far everyone has come, but it's kind of interesting.

Chris Colfer has physically changed way too much to look like he did in 2009, despite the makeup attempts to turn back the clock, but I thought he did a good job reverting back to S1 Kurt, acting-wise, and O'Malley was good as always.

I LOL'ed during Kurt's Mr. Cellophane audition when Schue's notes had "Gay ?" and then Kurt did the hair flip thing and Schue crossed out the question mark.

Lea Michele does a pretty good job reverting to Pilot Rachel.

Smh at Murphy retconning Tina to be just as insufferable in the pilot as she became later.

Yea, 2009 got boring. The Kurt stuff was interesting, despite Colfer being the least physically believable as his 2009 self, but too much of it was just these scenes that felt like rehashes of stuff we already knew in the first place, or superfluous stuff that added nothing that we didn't need to see.

On to the finale.

2009 was ok, though parts of it seemed to hard to believe, like Kurt/Rachel spending to much time together when he couldn't stand her in S1. The end of it with DSB almost got me but it didn't. I see that Matt Rutherford got cut from the episode since I believe he filmed scenes for it. How fitting. Though I was surprised at how much they tried to pay attention to the pilot/first season, even the Cheerios had their original uniforms.

They did a prequel book when the show first came out that seemed a lot more interesting and what they should've adapted for majority of 2009 imo.

Back in present day and of course we go to the extreme of McKinley having people sign up for 1 Glee club, he thinks that there is enough for 3 seperate battling clubs?

That scene with Will singing to them at the beginning kind of got me, mostly because it was the final scene ever filmed and reportedly the crying from everybody wasn't acting and everybody really was a sobbing mess by the end because it was their final Glee scene ever.

I just wish they hadn't filled it with so many random bodies, especially with it being the last scene filmed. It is probably members of the crew but just weird to see all these random people.

Of course Sue gets fired from her job only to end up becoming Veep of the United States.... lol oh lord.

This finale would've been better had gotten more endings for the rest of the main cast through the years. Naya/Hemo/Mark were more then available, they had Dianna at least for 1/2 days. Yeah they shifted focus back to the original 5+Blaine/Sam but this far into the series? It just felt a little flat due to how important some characters became.

It was an ok finale for the series but it ended up partly feeling empty to me.

Sue singing The Winner Takes It All's more suggestive lyrics to Will was kinda creepy.

What was the deal with The Winner Takes It All? Were they trying to suggest Sue was in love with Will or something?

I think they just chose that song for the simple parts saying that Sue lost, Will won.

How funny is it that Mercedes ends up alone as usual. She had 1 actual relationship throughout the entire series for a couple of episodes in S3 then just the constant cat/mouse with Sam.

That last performance, I would have done somewhat differently. Give all the Originals a part, have the newest characters shuffle in first, followed by ND 2.0, with all OG ND coming in last and making up the front row with some flashbacks.

I don't really get what the deal was with Future Klaine's school visit. Were all these little kids supposed to be gay, or something? It seemed like a really odd random ending bit for Kurt and Blaine. I mean, good for them that they seem successful and happy and all, but they could have given them a better close than that.

Yeah they totally could've, I just think they didn't want their flashfoward to trump or come close to Rachels.

And it is funny that New Directions has won Nationals twice but that is enough to transform the entire school into an Arts school when the football team and especially Cheerios have won more National championships.

2009 was very meh outside of the clip from dont stop.

but i gotta admit, i had tears during the final number... it looks like they literally brought everyone back even Marley and her crew...

feels a bit of a crime to exclude santanna and britt from the final 2eps. But that final music number was glorious. Id love an extended version of it. I had tears

Seemed like a waste of time. It could have been completely cut and they would have had a decent ending with just rachel being a surrogate

Marley wasn't there. Everyone was there except Marley and Rory.

I thought that was part of the time jump.. that the opening win didnt do it, but x # of years in a row did it combined with it producing many successful talent

The red hat girl was Madison. She and Mason were wearing matching red hats.

Apparently somebody asked Melissa Benoist on Twitter if she was there, and she said no. She and Damien McGinty had commitments they couldn't get out of even though they were invited, Benoist with Supergirl and McGinty with his band in Ireland.

Maybe.

And are we suppose to maybe think that Kitty/Roderick ended up together?

But the brother and sister were on stage the whole time. Hmmm maybe they had a stand in. It all happened so fast

It was impressive the amount they got back. The only real person missing outside of guest stars and those 2 was , whats his face, the curly red headed jewish nerd
