Musical Glee Episode V: The Sylvester Strikes Back - - - - - - Part 15

I asked Jenna and Kevin what the transition into season4 was like for them. Kevin said it was a good question, because they both really felt abandoned. It was like real school, where your friends graduate, but you are stuck in the same room day after day, while your friends are off pretending to be in New York in a fancy loft and getting to do more adult things. And that they learned about Artie and Tina being younger at a Comicon panel (they said just before s4, but I think they meant just before s3).

Trying to find more from their Paris panel

This whole thing reminds me of the pro-wrestling thread. So-and-so is getting shafted by creative, so-and-so is being pushed, etc.. :funny:

In hindsight, I'm just really glad they wrapped the series on a song other than Don't Stop Believin'. It's like, okay, I get it, it was your first major group number. Great. But you've already revisited the song about five times over the course of the series.

I was 50/50 on it. On one hand, it is DSB and their first song so it would've been a good way to come full circle. BUT they covered it 5 times so I was glad they didn't since it lost all meaning by the time they got to 3rd cover.

They really could have picked better songs all around this last epsiode. Not sure who BTS has the hard on for those Mumford & Sons-esque folk songs, but they've done it too many times and they all sound the same.

That end song was good, damn you. :argh:

Oh yeah, they were like "meh it's the last season so lets do anything"

But I wish they had staged I Lived performance different and included more of the originals in it, and with it being the last performance, just perform the entire song instead of cutting it down.

I Lived could have had vocals distributed more. Like, at least the originals should have all gotten a solo line.

Is that what it was called?

Sure is.

Just saw this and me laugh

It might just be my ABBA fetish talking, but that number really got me. :o

I enjoyed it but they really should've wrapped up Sue/Schue battle in ep 6x11.

Winner Takes It All was one my favorite performances of the episode after I Lived.

Almost a week since it ended and I'm now in shock at the realization of just how much recent Taylor Swift they never used. I honestly thought her stuff would be catnip for this damn show.

you know, that's the one thing i'll severely miss.. is there's some great newer songs i would have loved to see them do, especially from taylor swift

With all the recent news about TV shows being given new life (24 last year, Twin Peaks/Heroes/The X-Files coming soon), I really wonder how long we'll have to wait to see Glee: The Return to McKinley High.

I don't see them using McKinley as the main setting whenever the show gets "rebooted"

It would be so fitting for the new show never to ask back Jenna though i see her being one of the first accepting a role.

The only version of DSB I listen to from Glee. Everyone gets featured and it is the best version. Didn't notice until now how they cut everyones solos besides Santana/Puck from the Regionals performance.

and the other DSB performances just for the hell of it

And their X Factor performance, LOVE Amber belting in Simons face, it's amazing half of them tried out for American Idol and were turned down

Something popped into my head earlier today that I thought was really interesting to consider.

If any of the castmembers other than Cory Monteith had died, would the writers have still let that have the same kind of impact in-series? And, I mean, obviously not Lea or Darren or Matthew Morrison where they were or ended up being pillars of the show anyway. But like Chord or Amber Riley or Kevin McHale... would they have gotten the same treatment? Would we have gotten an episode dedicated to Artie? Would the auditorium be given Sam's name?

I feel like any of them would've gotten a tribute episode, though I imagine it would've played out much differently, but I kind of doubt the series would end on their image or with the auditorium being named after them.

I don't know, just something I started thinking about.

They would've gotten the tribute episode, maybe the plaque but that is about all. But the episode probably would be tamer and probably not even entirely dedicated to them.

As bad as it sounds, it just depends on who it is.
